Dust swirled around, and the Horned Horses neighed. The shouts from the valley roared like thunder. From a distance, the black and red waves of people surged like raging ocean tides. The first to react were the Kaliye cavalry closest to the blast site in the north, caught off guard by the aftermath—they didn’t even have time to mount their beasts before the beams of light sliced through limbs and pierced chests…

Yet, despite the ferocity of the situation, the Northern Army was not frightened by this sudden onslaught. In the chaotic scene, almost everyone was driven by the impulsive emotions swelling in their chests. The golden light beams overhead continued to illuminate the chaos, drowning out the shouts of their leaders. Following the stampede of hooves, they blindly surged forward.
The frenzy erupted quickly, starting with a small wave of Kaliye warriors in the north. In the blink of an eye, it spread to nearly half the army. With chaos reigning, some soldiers were swept along, ready to charge, while others turned back to grab swords and knives left on the ground nearby.
Farther away, many warriors were still clueless about what was happening. They only saw golden light bursting forth from the north and heard the sound of horns, but didn’t see any flags signaling a command. They had no idea that the Church was launching a surprise attack on the Northern Army…
But outside the valley, the Knights Order was rapidly closing in.
In the sky, the second wave of golden rays burst forth, readying yet another miracle. In circumstances like this, it was almost impossible for the Northern Army to organize an effective counterattack in time.
DONG! DONG! DONG! DONG—
In the next instant, the Golden Bell boomed in the falling snow.
One, two, four… six… Within moments, nearly ten enormous miracle bells appeared in the sky to the north of the valley. Their thunderous peals seemed to scatter the snowflakes, sending powerful winds crashing down towards the throngs below!

And then, that swirling military tide of black and red, like straw crushed beneath a heavy roller, saw a significant portion of its soldiers and Horned Horses topple, braying in despair as they fell onto the snowy ground.
They had no chance to resist…

Almost simultaneously with the ringing of the Golden Bell, a countless volley of sharp whistling sounds cut through the air from the direction of the charging knights. Thunderous hoofbeats followed the assault of Holy Lances, with all the noble resolve of righteousness, coldly and mercilessly heading straight for the disarrayed enemy.

Amidst the roaring winds, that high-pitched and oddly soft voice rang out: “The Duke of the Imperial Winter Moon Family, usurper Skarlij Cornwall Land of the Winter Moon, is tyrannical and bloodthirsty! For two years, he has led his army to seize power, inciting war from the north to the south! Thousands of God’s people have met untimely ends! Countless civilians of the Empire have been plunged into hunger and homelessness! To win, he has even killed nearly a hundred devout believers of the Church! He has committed grave war crimes—!!”
With a commanding cry, the lines of both armies rushed closer together. In the wake of the knight’s vanguard, streams of golden bliss surged up the slope, appearing endless at first glance. The Holy Lances shooting from above, only a few hundred meters away, were about to land among the Northern soldiers crushed under the Golden Bell.
“Erin Castle Army! New City of Kaliye Army! You are hereby officially designated as Imperial rebels! Your families share the same fate as Skarlij! The Fourth Knights Order of the Holy Church shall, in the name of God, administer justice for your atrocities! To all troops—!!”
The shout turned fierce, yet that strangely androgynous tone only made it more unsettling: “Crush these henchmen! For the sake of the Empire’s people, for the glory of the entire order! My righteous knights, follow me to end this meaningless war—”
“k*ll AHHHHHH—!!!!”
At this moment, the overwhelming momentum displayed by the Church Knights had entirely suppressed the already chaotic Northern warriors.
The initial offensive paralyzed the enemy, causing them to lose their commander and leaving them in disarray, shattering their will from within. Even if the men of the North were brave and formidable, they would face a devastating defeat in this bl**d-soaked ambush.
What unfolded before their eyes sealed a fate that seemed irretrievable.
As the unstoppable Church army bore down, the deathly gale of Holy Lances cutting through the flurrying snow above, the Northern soldiers’ hearts felt like ashes.
We’re losing…
The siege of the Royal City hadn’t even begun, and the rage boiling inside them was ready to erupt from their throats. With bloodshot eyes, they wanted to snatch up the fallen swords and slay those shameless golden knights ahead, struggling desperately but finding it hard to even stand up.
“d*mn it… speaking nonsense…”
“Church bastards… playing dirty… you won’t get away with it!”

Bitter curses blended into a cacophony over the pale snowy ground, utterly failing to affect the Knights’ unwavering determination to slay the rebels as they charged faster…

Time seemed to come to a screeching halt at this moment.

For some reason, I suddenly felt a bit tired.
Staring at the approaching, seemingly invincible golden army, as the snowflakes drifted down, I let out a soft sigh.

The sky was obscured.
The shadow of the hundred-meter iceberg blocked the sun’s last rays peeking out from behind the snowstorm and the twenty or so Holy Lances aiming at the Northern Army. All that astonishing gunfire “whoosh whoosh” smacked squarely against the iceberg, not even causing a ripple in its wake.
A chilling mist swept through the whole valley, completely freezing the Northern Army that was braced for battle in shock. They looked up, utterly bewildered as to what had just happened. Some were even left sitting dumbfounded—on the other side of the iceberg, the overwhelming pressure of the Knights was now utterly invisible.
And soon after, before the soldiers could react…
They heard screams, beastly roars, panicked shouts, and the sound of countless heavy objects crashing against the ice.
The sound left them dazed for ages.
But they soon realized…
That was the sound of the Knights’ charge slamming into the iceberg!
