37 Getting on a Dragon Isn’t Simple?
The day of Noia’s entrance exam was creeping closer.
Aside from the exam itself, they had to prepare some other stuff ahead of time.
Like a family portrait.
Saint His Academy was a noble institution within the Dragon Race, and they had strict standards for admitting students.
Although most dragon families were single-parent homes that reproduced asexually, there were some “normal breeding” families like Roswiser’s.
Regardless of whether they were ‘single’ families or ‘two-parent’ families, both were crucial elements for the assessment.
Only a harmonious, loving family that upheld the ideals of the Dragon Race could raise a competent young dragon.
The Young Dragon Department at Saint His Academy only accepted such students.
Unfortunately for Leon, his “family” was about as far from “harmonious” and “loving” as you could get.
“Far from it? We still have to pretend it’s there.”
Roswiser said, “Noia cares a lot about this entrance exam, and you’ve all worked hard for a month, so no matter what, we must pass this test.”
Leon scratched his head. “So, do we need to take a family photo?”
“Of course! I booked a photography studio with a Message Dragon a few days ago. Get ready; we’ll head out soon.”

Leon scrunched his brows. “Family portrait?”
He recalled that not long ago, Roswiser’s sister, the red dragon queen Isar, had visited and Moon mentioned how she had long wanted to take a family portrait.
Since the little one wanted it, and it was on the way, Leon couldn’t refuse.
He kicked the covers off, got out of bed, and prepared to dress.
“Hey, wait, there’s one more thing.” Roswiser said.
“What is it?”
“I need to attach a tail to you.”
“Ha? Attach a tail?”
“Yeah.” Roswiser nodded. “You can use the excuse of ‘not liking to show off your tail’ to fool others at home, but outside, a male dragon without a tail is just weird.”
Leon sulked, expressionless as he asked, “Will other dragons try to k*ll me if I don’t have a tail?”
Roswiser shook her head.
“Then what am I worried about? Being weird is just being weird.”
“But the tail is an important symbol of our Dragon Race! You—”
Leon, putting on his coat and turning his back to Roswiser, interrupted her slowly, “For you guys, the tail is a symbol; for me, accepting you attaching a tail… sounds more like a compromise.”
Roswiser furrowed her brows and rubbed the space between her horns, “You really are something, Dragon Slayer.”
Leon shrugged.
He was still that wild Dragon Slayer, and he’d flat-out reject anything that could tarnish his dignity and glory.
Roswiser estimated that if she tried to force him, they might end up with no photo at all.
“Alright, fine, we won’t do it. But you remember, once we’re out, don’t go throwing your stubborn tantrums, got it?”
“Mm.”
“I’ll go get Noia and Moon; you wait for us in the temple courtyard.”
Leon silently nodded, hands stuffed in his coat pockets, and stepped out of the room.
As his footsteps faded, Roswiser sighed in exasperation, “What a bunch of stubborn mules. There’s no helping it.”
Muttering to herself, she hurried to the sisters’ room.
Since she’d already given her daughters a heads-up the night before, when Roswiser arrived, the two little ones were already dressed and ready.
Roswiser led them downstairs.
Moon called for daddy while running on her little feet toward Leon.
Leon smiled and squatted down to hug Moon tightly.
“Where are we going to take the photo?” Leon asked.
“To Sky City, the city that belongs to dragons.”
Leon nodded thoughtfully.
He had seen records of Sky City in human historical documents.
Legend had it that it was far from the noisy world, a realm solely for dragons.
For thousands of years, countless brave souls had sought to enter the Dragon’s Sky City, but all ended up failing miserably.
So many years ago, humans and other races had given up on exploring Sky City.
Honestly, Leon felt a bit excited.
He might very well become the first human to enter Sky City!
“Mom, how are we getting there?”
This was also the daughters’ first trip away from the Silver Dragon Temple, so Sky City was an unfamiliar place for them.
“Well, to get to Sky City, we have to—fly!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Roswiser spread her dragon wings, enveloped her body, paused for a moment, then unfurled her wings again, revealing a majestic silver dragon before everyone’s eyes.
“Wow! Mom looks so cool! I want to turn into a dragon too!”
Noia tugged at her sister’s tail, “Let’s see you sprout wings first!”
“Hmph! Moon will definitely turn into a dragon one day!”
With that, Moon turned her gaze to her father, asking eagerly, “Dad, why don’t you transform?”
“…”
“Daddy, transform quick! I want to see what you look like as a dragon!” The little dragon girl clapped her hands excitedly.
Even Noia was curiously waiting on the side.
Meanwhile, Leon was ready to d*e of embarrassment.
Sweet daughter, I can slay dragons like a pro, but turning into one? Not happening, sorry!
Leon swallowed hard, grinning along with Moon, throwing a desperate glance for help at Roswiser.
But who knew this mother dragon was blissfully unaware, leisurely licking her wings instead.
Are you seriously prepping your wings for takeoff, big sis?
Could you just take a glance over here?
Help! Help! Hey!
Seeing Leon hesitating, Noia squinted her eyes and said ominously, “You’re not… unable to transform, are you?”
“Uh, well—”
“Daddy hasn’t fully recovered yet, so he can’t turn into a giant dragon form for now.”
Finally, Roswiser was willing to lend a hand, “When Daddy’s better, he’ll transform for you.”
“Yay! Daddy, you have to get better soon!”
“…I’ll do my best.”
“Alright, let’s chat later, hop on.”
Roswiser said, gently biting Noia’s tail and placing her on her back.
Then she took Moon from Leon’s arms and set her next to Noia.
Finally, she looked at Leon, “You too, get on.”
Hmph, getting on a dragon isn’t simple?
But Roswiser seemed to be purposely making it hard for him, not bending down a bit to give him a height advantage.
Leon looked up at the towering dragon—had this been before, he would have jumped on in a couple of steps—bonus points for slicing the dragon’s neck with his holy sword.
But alas, his body isn’t in tip-top shape; let alone getting on a dragon, he had to be careful just getting on a bed.
“What’s wrong? Hurry up and join your daughters.”
In her dragon form, Leon couldn’t see Roswiser’s expression.
But he was 100% sure that this mother dragon was definitely laughing her tail off inside.
Messing with his mentality like this was clearly because he rejected her suggestion to attach a tail earlier!
Mother dragon, you’re so childish!
But if he hesitated longer, the girls would start to get anxious.
Leon scratched his cheek and had to take a step back for now.
“Roswiser, could you… could you lower yourself a bit? I… I can’t get up.”
“What? I didn’t catch that. You said what?”
“…I, can’t, get, up.”
“Still can’t hear you.”
“Mom, Dad says he can’t get up.”
“Oh, okay, so he can’t get up. Should’ve said so earlier; let me help you.”
With that, Roswiser grabbed Leon by the collar and plopped him down next to the daughters.
Leon crossed his legs and sat down. Moon immediately crawled over and settled onto his lap, her tail beside him, her back resting against Leon’s chest.
Leon patted Moon’s little head and turned his gaze to Noia.
The little ice dragon girl was also looking at him.
Only, she seemed deep in thought about something important.
