Chapter 25: What Are You Thinking About?
One night passed.
Night Lan didn’t find Kong Yu Bai or Book Yao, and she couldn’t even locate Mo Tu.
As the moment of awakening from the dream approached, she had no choice but to return to the Night Watcher Headquarters to gather information from the Leader.
Compared to the last time, Night Lan noticed that the data collected by the Night Watchers was significantly less this time—should be reaching saturation point by now.
But the information wasn’t decisive enough; it merely aided in exploring this dream.
To obtain more details about the true identity of Star Eclipses, they would need to delve deeper.
Suddenly, a melody of flutes drifted through the air.
The moment of awakening had arrived.
Everyone in the dream fell into slumber, leaving Night Lan as the only one wide awake, witnessing the collapse of the entire dream.
In that fleeting moment of darkness, Night Lan hazily saw two figures—the same two Star Eclipses she had encountered when she first entered.
Perhaps at the moment of awakening, they lost their eligibility to exist in this dream, only appearing in the dreams woven by others.
But what happens after the dream shatters?
Where should they go?
If they could only exist in dreams and could not manifest in reality, it created a bit of a paradox.
Of course, these were merely Night Lan’s fleeting thoughts; no one was sure what secrets they held.
Night Lan wasn’t about to approach them anyway.
And so it was.
Back to reality.
“Hmm.”
Night Lan opened her eyes, gazing at the bright light outside the window.
A whole night just passed by like that.
She got up, stretched, and after getting the bl**d flowing again, she walked over to open the Theater Door to grab the information recorded by Night Star.
Though the amount of information found by the Night Watchers today was scant, when combined with the previous findings, it wasn’t insignificant.
Next, they just needed to find the decisive information.
This might require tracking down the Dream Narrator who wove the dream, but that contact could be a dangerous endeavor.
The Night Watchers had no idea what personality that Star Eclipse had or what their intentions were.
Without any defensive power, approaching them was like placing your life on a gamble.
The risks were not small, to say the least.
However, it wasn’t a decision for Night Lan to make; she could only see what the Leader thought about it.
In this incident, her role was merely that of an information courier.
Well, without making any wishes, that is.
After sending the information she received from Night Star to the Leader, Night Lan began to prepare for her morning routine.
Next up was breakfast, and, oh, she might as well grab a portion for Night Star too.
There’s nothing pleasant about feeling hungry.
Meanwhile…
Inside the theater.
Night Star let out a soft sigh.
Although she hadn’t slept a wink all night, she didn’t feel a trace of drowsiness.
In fact, she felt like she could pull an all-nighter for several nights in a row and still be full of energy.
But after the thoughts, it would still be nice to catch a little midday nap.
Sleeping in the theater was rather pleasant.
Just then, the Theater Door swung open unexpectedly.
Kong Yu Bai and Book Yao appeared inside the theater, looking like they had just enjoyed a good night’s sleep.
Night Star blinked and asked, “Did you dream?”
“Not sure, but it felt like I might have?” Kong Yu Bai replied with an uncertain look.
Book Yao’s expression mirrored her confusion.
“It seems like some memories have vanished.”
“Well, you probably went inside.”
Since memories were fuzzy, they likely had entered that strange dream.
Even with Book Yao’s immense mental power and Kong Yu Bai’s secondary Supernova Star Eclipse, they couldn’t escape the erasure of memories within the dream.
It seemed only Night Star Lan had the bug advantage over the dream; others could not find any loopholes.
Ah, guess her rank is just higher!
After learning the results from Night Star, Kong Yu Bai and Book Yao asked, “Did we find you? Or did you find us?”
With memories about the dream erased, they didn’t even know if they had managed to locate Night Lan.
Night Star shook her head and sighed softly.
“Not at all; who knows where you guys were… If you had been hanging around the HQ, I might have been able to find you.”
Kong Yu Bai chuckled.
“Well, it was unavoidable; even though I’ve performed in the capital before, I have no idea about the environment there. I don’t even know where the Night Watcher Headquarters is!”
If Kong Yu Bai was like this, Book Yao must be even more lost.
Night Star looked at Book Yao, who also shook her head.
“I might have been to the capital in my long past life, but times change fast. It might have become unrecognizable by now.”
Well then, it sounds like it’s their first time going to the capital.
Now if they wanted to fix a meeting point, they’d need to get familiar with the capital’s layout a bit.
Otherwise, Kong Yu Bai and Book Yao would just have to rely on luck to find Night Lan in the dream.
“Anyway, I’ll let Night Lan secretly show you around the capital later, just enough to get familiar with the map, so we shouldn’t get caught. We can set a meeting point by then, and there’ll be no need to worry about finding each other in the dream.”
Book Yao and Kong Yu Bai nodded lightly.
That was settled.
Just as Night Star was about to leave the theater to head to the lounge for a wash and breakfast, another disturbance occurred in the theater.
Night Star turned around to see none other than Mo Rabbit, the Announcer!
“Shock! What are you doing here?”
“Huh? I’m the Announcer; why can’t I be here?”
“Hmm… Let me think, you entered the dream yesterday, right?”
“Yeah, and I even met the true Star Eclipse who weaves dreams. Seemed like a real handful.”
“Ah, I see; you’ve got quite the luck, huh?”
Night Star pondered for a moment, then suddenly noticed something and froze.
“Wait, can you remember things from the dream?! Are you a bug too?!”
Mo Rabbit shook her head.
“Not at all; I can’t remember, and I’m not a bug either.”
“Ah, then how do you know you encountered a Star Eclipse in the dream?”
Mo Rabbit raised her head slightly, trying to strike a casual heroic pose, but all that came across was her cuteness.
“Heh~ Was that hard? Just a bit of divination can reveal everything. Even if my memories are interfered with, I can analyze fragments of information through divination. That’s all.”
“I see, so did you have a close encounter with that Star Eclipse?”
“Well, we brushed past each other, but there wasn’t really a deep conversation. That guy seemed really disinterested in talking to me—couldn’t take a joke at all.”
As she spoke, Mo Rabbit let out a disappointed sigh, sounding truly let down.
Night Star stood there, baffled.
“Do you guys just have a natural tendency to clash? You seem like you should have the upper hand.”
“The upper hand? Not quite; he just isn’t interested in me. I, on the other hand, find him quite intriguing. I guess it’s a slow burn.”
Hearing this from Mo Rabbit, Night Star’s eyes lit up.
“So, I can just chill, right? You’re confident it’ll wrap up by tomorrow, right?”
“You’re full of hot air.”
“Alright, I’ll take a nap.”
