126 Eat Up Everything!
Moon’s awakening had an unexpected result that left everyone shocked.
Forget about Anna and the other maids; even Roswiser, the well-versed Dragon Queen, had never witnessed a dual-element awakening in person.
For the long-lived Dragon Race, witnessing a dual-element awakening is a rare gem.
Awakening two elements inherently means that Moon’s future is packed with more possibilities than most.
There’s a custom among human children called “Zhua Zhou,” where a pile of common items is placed around a child. Whatever the child grabs indicates what path they are likely to follow in life.
Like, if the kid snatches a pile of gold coins, it means they’re destined to make a fortune.
Of course, this is just a cheerful little ceremony—nothing to take seriously.
But when it comes to magic, awakening two elements in childhood truly can determine a child’s future.
As the daughter of the strongest Dragon Slayer and the Silver Dragon Queen, she was already destined for an extraordinary life.
And now, she had completed a dual-element awakening that only existed in the pages of books, which means her future is limitless—if she doesn’t mess it up.
Who knows, maybe our little darling will end up using her amazing thunder and fire elements to wrangle some cows and whip up a steak?!
You shock the cow with lightning, then fire it up—it guarantees tender meat and perfect cooking!
It’s like she was awakened with the sole purpose of making steaks!
“Mommy, Daddy~”
As the light from the awakening circle faded, Moon sprinted over, grabbing Leon’s wrist with one hand and Roswiser’s with the other.
“Did you see that? I think I awakened two elements~”
Clearly, the little dragon girl didn’t yet realize how impressive her dual-element awakening was. Her current excitement stemmed purely from eavesdropping on her parents discussing whether she’d awaken fire or thunder.
Dad liked thunder, and Mom was into fire—poor Moon was stuck in the middle!
But now, she had awakened both; surely her parents were thrilled!
The couple crouched down, smushing their darling daughter’s chubby little face with kisses.
Roswiser pecked her on the left, while Leon took the right.
Moon: )ꄱωꄱ(
Just soaking up the positive vibes!
Who knows, maybe one day Dad and Mom will have a second awakening too! They might even bring forth a stunning dual-element child!
“Mommy, Daddy, you’re going to squish my face flat!~”
Only then did they release their precious daughter.
Alright, based on Mom and Dad’s reaction, it was clear her performance didn’t embarrass them. Moon thought to herself.
If Leon and Roswiser could hear their little girl’s thoughts, they’d probably say:
Not just not embarrassing, dear daughter! When we take you out, we’ll have to slap a “Dual Element Awakening Young Dragon Approaching, Please Keep Your Distance” sign on your forehead!
Gotta flaunt, gotta show off!
Leon picked up Moon, and the three of them left the training ground, heading toward the backyard.
Anna and the others were dismantling the magic circle while praising Princess Moon’s talent and good fortune.
“Seeing is believing! Who knew we could witness a dual-element awakening right here in Princess Moon?”
“Her talent is exceptional, and with His Majesty and His Royal Highness as parents, her future is unlimited.”
“Both of the King’s daughters are full of surprises… I wonder~” one maid trailed off.
Anna and a few other maids turned to look, and one prompted, “Wonder what? Hurry up and say it.”
The little maid covered her mouth, like a middle school girl gossiping about whether the English or literature teacher is prettier. “I wonder if their future kids will be even more amazing.”
“Hey~~ You’re thinking too far! His Majesty just had two little princesses not long ago; there’s no way she can… get pregnant again so soon!”
“Who’s to say? His Majesty and His Royal Highness are so lovey-dovey; what if they want more kids?”
“Being lovey-dovey means having more kids? I think you’ve got that CP ship sailing too far~” One bestie poked her head.
After a few more random chit-chats, Anna finally chimed in, “Alright, alright, back to work! Let’s gossip during break.”
“Got it~”
…
That evening, to celebrate Moon’s dual-element awakening, Leon and Roswiser teamed up in the kitchen, whipping up a feast—
No cilantro, no carrots, and no eggplant.
After all, the star of the day was their precious daughter; the couple decided to put their culinary battles on hold for now.
Moon looked at the buffet of scrumptious dishes and dove in, no questions asked.
Using magic for the first time surely makes one hungrier than usual; a little extra eating is fine.
Leon even prepared extra steaks, ensuring their sweet daughter could eat to her heart’s content.
The couple watched with grateful smiles as Moon furiously dug into her meal. A moment later, they shifted their gaze to their own food.
About that dual-element awakening, they had discussed way earlier to keep it under wraps for now, not wanting to burden Moon with the weight of such a rare existence.
Moon wasn’t the competitive type nor was she keen on chasing after power like traditional dragons.
She had told Leon this already, and Roswiser was in the know too.
So, they wanted to avoid putting any psychological pressure on their usually chill daughter, making her feel, “Oh no, Mom and Dad believe in me! I can’t let them down!”
She’s a good and understanding girl; in some respects, she knows just as much as Noia.
For instance, if they told her about this dual-element awakening, how much potential she has, and how she could surely become a great magician one day—oh, the pressure would be on!
Even if Moon’s ambitions didn’t align with that path, she might feel compelled to align herself with traditional dragon ambitions and strive toward greatness.
Frankly, Leon and Roswiser hoped for Moon to have a happy and joyful childhood more than any rare dual-element awakening.
Initially, Roswiser hadn’t considered this deeply, even wavering on whether to share Moon’s potential with her.
But in the midst of her dilemma, Leon’s words about “a happy childhood” hit home for Roswiser.
In terms of educational philosophy, the Dragon Race indeed falls short compared to humans; Roswiser had to admit that.
Of course, Roswiser wasn’t the type of mother who thought, “I endured hardships, so my child should too.”
Ultimately, everything revolves around their daughter’s happiness, and that’s what matters the most.
“Mommy, Daddy, you should eat more too~”
After munching for a bit, Moon stood on her chair, filling Leon and Roswiser’s plates.
“Okay, thank you, Moon~”
“You’re welcome, Mommy~”
A simple “thank you” earned Moon two fried chicken wings in return.
Roswiser’s plate was instantly piled high.
After ensuring her parents were well-fed, Moon returned to her spot and continued to chomp down.
Leon, while casually eating, glanced over at Roswiser’s plate.
He blinked, noticing she hardly touched her food; even with the extra helpings from Moon, she barely nibbled.
Leon looked up at her. Roswiser wore a smile, but there was a slight furrow in her brow—so subtle that you’d miss it unless you were paying close attention.
But as she gazed at the salad dressing, fried foods, and so on, her frown deepened.
She even sported a bit of a “disgusted” expression.
Roswiser swallowed hard, then quickly averted her gaze and sipped some water to ease the discomfort.
Leon shifted his gaze back, not probing further.
The dinner continued.
Suddenly, Leon heard Roswiser clear her throat softly.
This wasn’t a hint, more like a simple bodily reaction.
He glanced up again; Roswiser propped her chin on one hand, hiding her mouth behind her fingers.
Even though her eyes were on Moon, her expression was a bit peculiar—like she was trying to suppress discomfort.
“Moon, could you go to Dad’s room and get me some drinks? There’s some under the bed; if not, check the balcony.” Leon said.
“Okay, Daddy!”
Moon hopped off the chair, wagging her little tail as she dashed out of the room.
Leon just realized Roswiser wasn’t quite right, but with their daughter present, he couldn’t pry too much or risk worrying her.
So, he used the excuse of needing Moon to fetch drinks to remove her from the situation.
After Moon shut the door, Roswiser quietly said, “I’m going to the bathroom.”
She then rushed off, closing the door behind her.
Leon approached the bathroom door, listening to the sound of water flushing. After pondering a bit, he said,
“Hey, I didn’t put a single bit of cilantro in any of my dishes; why do you look like you can’t eat?”
There were certainly kinder questions he could have asked, but Leon opted for his typical seemingly indifferent approach.
“I don’t know… maybe just… an upset stomach.” Roswiser’s voice floated through the bathroom.
“Oh… okay then.”
After washing her face and drying off, Roswiser opened the bathroom door.
Leon still stood at the entrance.
The pair instinctively took a step back, then Leon stepped aside to give Roswiser space.
Roswiser gave a small nod without elaborating and turned toward the dining room.
But before she could take a step, she felt someone grab her arm.
Turning around, she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Leon opened his mouth, wanting to say something but hesitated.
In the end, he simply let go of Roswiser.
Roswiser’s gaze wandered, feeling the faint warmth of his hand on her arm, and she affected a casual tone as she said, “Let’s get back to eating.”
“Sure.”
The couple returned to the table.
Roswiser glanced down at her plate filled with salad dressing, grilled meat, chicken wings, and steaks. Yup, still no appetite.
Not only did she lack appetite, but she also had a hint of… nausea.
“Here, you eat this.” In a moment of inspiration, the Queen stood up with her plate and swapped it with Leon’s.
Leon blinked, staring at the overflowing plate, swallowing nervously. “…Do I look like someone who can put down a lot of food?”
Roswiser leaned on one hand, smirking, “Better than a dieting dragon, right?”
“Dieting? How heavy are you that you need to diet?”
“I weighed myself last time at… around a hundred pounds, I think.”
Roswiser pondered and added, “Oh wait, it was a hundred point… my goal is to drop below a hundred.”
Leon shook his head seriously, “You can’t be dieting to go below a hundred pounds!”
Roswiser raised an eyebrow, curious, “Oh? Why not?”
“Girls should never weigh less than a hundred; otherwise, they’re either flat or short.” Leon said earnestly, making it sound like some profound wisdom.
Roswiser rolled her eyes in disbelief.
Sure, this playful banter lightened the earlier tension, but it didn’t mean she’d tolerate Leon’s nonsense.
So she picked up a chicken leg to toss onto Leon’s plate.
But then she reconsidered and switched to three grilled oysters—rumor has it they’re quite nutritious for humans.
“Eat this! Finish it all! If you can’t, you’re not allowed to sleep!”
