Chapter 135: The Queen’s Rejection of Cohabitation after Marriage ❌
After one round, Roswiser sat at her desk, her nightgown casually draped over her, the delicate straps threatening to fall.
She glanced down at her tail tip, furrowing her brow slightly.
Then with a cold snort, she decided she’d have Leon play the “foot massage slave” again later.
With that thought in mind, Roswiser looked up at Leon, the Dragon Slayer, who had both hands resting on the armrests, staring blankly at the ceiling as if contemplating the meaning of life.
The queen’s thoughts stirred, and she slowly lifted her exquisitely fair jade foot, gently placing it on the dragon pattern on Leon’s chest.
The resonance from the dragon pattern faded away, leaving just a few faint blue arcs behind.
Roswiser raised an eyebrow, “What’s that?”
“What?”
“The light on the dragon pattern.” Roswiser tilted her pretty chin toward his chest, “Why is it blue?”
Leon glanced down, then quickly grabbed Roswiser’s delicate ankle and lifted her soft foot off his chest.
Sure enough, the dragon pattern flickered with blue light, but it extinguished just as quickly.
Roswiser pulled her foot back and placed it right back on his chest, “You don’t know either?”
Leon pressed his lips together; actually, he did know.
It was the magical energy he’d had in the dragon pattern for the past few days.
After the shenanigans, that magical energy, mixed with the dragon pattern’s properties, resulted in the blue light flickering.
And Leon guessed that, no matter the method, as long as the dragon pattern was involved, any magical energy he “offered” would deplete.
When he tried to feel it out, he noticed his strength had indeed diminished a little, but thankfully not completely. That provided him with some solace.
“Must’ve gone out of control again; didn’t this thing go haywire at the hot springs, too?” Leon tried to find a convincing excuse.
Roswiser nodded thoughtfully, “Is that so… but this time the out-of-control part was actually quite nice.”
Leon was taken aback, “Nice?”
“Yeah, I didn’t properly follow the usual homework rules. I just used the monthly service to tickle the tail, so technically, it should have been less stimulating.”
Roswiser reminisced about what had just happened and added, “But I felt… quite nice, tingly, and cozy—mhm, very comfortable.”
Leon gave her a sidelong glance.
Do you know why you felt that way, Mother Dragon?
Because that was all high-class thunder element magic!
Do you really think a little dragon pattern could make you feel like that?
Dream on.
Roswiser bit her lip, her warm soles exploring Leon’s chest as they slowly made their way downwards.
When they reached his abdomen, Leon quickly grasped her ankle, “What are you doing?”
Roswiser tilted her head teasingly, “What, you think one punishment is enough after barging into my room at midnight?”
Since the recent methods had been quite simple, unlike the complete assignment process from before, the couple still had plenty of energy left.
And clearly, for whatever reason—perhaps to punish Leon or just for more fun—Roswiser was eager for another round.
This time, she was planning on using her feet.
Leon thought to himself, “No way, can’t let that happen again! I’ve finally gathered some magical energy; I need to use it wisely!”
“Let’s not go overboard, Mother Dragon; you’re pregnant,” Leon attempted to use that as leverage to restrain Roswiser.
Roswiser supported herself with her hands, her petite body leaning back slightly, “So what if I’m pregnant? It’s not like I’m forcing you to bed with me.”
Leon’s eyes darted around, and he quickly responded, “What I mean is, it’s almost 4 AM; pregnant women can’t stay up late!”
Now that was a pretty good excuse; Roswiser found herself momentarily without a counterargument.
But she wasn’t going to let Leon off that easily, “Fine, we can stop, but you have to tell me why you barged into my room in the first place!”
Back to square one.
Leon realized that if he didn’t come up with a perfect excuse today, Roswiser wouldn’t let him leave.
After some thought, Leon decided to play the “family card”—even if he had no real familial ties with this dragon.
When in doubt, being sentimental is always a solid choice.
“I was… worried about you, so I came to see if you were sleeping well.” Leon gazed into Roswiser’s eyes, going for the deep and heartfelt approach.
Roswiser blinked in confusion, “Worried about me?”
“Yeah, since you’re pregnant and often feeling unwell, even though we usually can’t stand each other, I can still see the bigger picture. Right now, you’re the most important in our household, so all our grievances can wait.”
In just a few sentences, Leon had wrapped himself in a fabric of noble sacrifice, ready to melt her heart.
How about that? Shouldn’t you be crying happy tears?
Don’t you dare cry out loud, or—
“I’m gonna throw up,” Roswiser said.
“… Is it morning sickness?”
“No, it’s you making me sick.”
Roswiser closed her eyes, swallowing hard, then exhaled with a sigh, her expression softening a bit, “Phew… alright, continue.”
“…”
Wait, Mother Dragon, what’s with you? Does the high-quality human male thing have zero effect on you?
Is your heart made of granite? Not a single emotional twitch?
Oh… Leon realized, of course! She’s a dragon; the good old human charm does squat against her.
Roswiser tilted her head, enjoying Leon’s baffled expression, and smiled, “You… really care about me?”
Leon blinked, sensing trouble, “Uh… actually, not that much… it’s just not as much as you think, is all.”
“Roar, since you don’t care that much, why sneak into my room? That’s a serious crime,” Roswiser circled around him slowly.
“… Care about you, care about you, is that not enough?”
“How much do you care?”
“Do we really have to nitpick about this now?”
Since Roswiser had seen through Leon’s little scheme, she was now nagging him like a girl asking if he loved her.
Leon, noticing this, decided to stop engaging.
With a playful smile, Roswiser lifted her foot off Leon’s abs, then suddenly, she grew serious, “Leon, I’m lifting your house arrest and allowing you free access to the Silver Dragon Temple, even my room. This is just because I think it’ll make things easier for you and Moon. But it doesn’t mean you can sneak into my room at midnight, got it?”
Leon raised his hands, “Punish me as you will, your highness.”
Caught red-handed for being naughty, Leon had nothing more to say; no amount of tough talk could change the objective truth.
“Hmph, punish you? I’ll have plenty of opportunities to do that in the future.”
Roswiser hopped off her desk, adjusted the straps of her nightgown, and approached Leon, bending down and poking his chest with a finger.
“From now on, you better behave and sleep in your own room. After 7 PM, you can absolutely not be in my bedroom; otherwise… you know what I’ll do, right, dear captive?”
