### Chapter 137: The Couple Living Together
Who Agrees, Who Opposes?
Leon: “Living together?…”
Roswiser: “Living together?”
Moon: “Living together!!… What does that mean?”
The little dragon girl’s big eyes sparkled with confusion.
Noia glanced at her sister and earnestly explained, “Living together means that two people in love reach a certain level and then move into the same house.”
Moon had a light-bulb moment, “Oh~ I see! Speaking of which, Dad has been sleeping in that little room all the time and seldom sleeps with Mom.”
Oh boy, if I sleep with your mom a few more times, this house might just collapse! Leon couldn’t help but grumble to himself.
Noia turned her gaze to Leon and Roswiser and slowly articulated her thoughts, “Since Mom is pregnant now, she needs someone by her side to take care of her, but when I came back, I saw that Anna and the others weren’t making any preparations for Mom’s pregnancy, so I assume you haven’t planned to tell the maid squad yet, right?”
“Mom might be doing this to avoid affecting daily work; I understand that. But still, considering she’s pregnant, she shouldn’t be alone. Moon’s still young, and I’m usually at the Academy, so Dad is the most suitable choice.”
After such a well-reasoned analysis, the couple found themselves at a loss for words.
It’s funny how these two, who could usually out-argue each other and think on their feet, suddenly became mute in front of their eldest daughter.
“Noia, actually, Mom is just—” Roswiser tried to explain.
But Noia cut in, “And besides, once the baby is born, they’ll need to go to the nursery that Dad has set up, right? So, at that point, Dad will have to move in with you anyway. Whether it’s sooner or later, it doesn’t matter, does it?”
Leon found himself almost persuaded, muttering, “That’s really reasonable…”
Reasonable indeed.
But for this couple, who each held their own secrets and reservations, living together wasn’t simply a matter of logic.
They had always slept apart.
For ordinary human couples, continuing to sleep in separate rooms after marriage isn’t exactly common, and it might even raise eyebrows.
Leon had once worried that having a kid and still sleeping apart would make people question their relationship.
However, Roswiser mentioned that the Dragon Race doesn’t have such strict requirements, or rather, even deeply loving dragon couples respect each other’s personal space.
Absolute loyalty to their partner means there’s no worry about sleeping separately. Just a little hint when they want to engage in certain couple activities would suffice.
But that doesn’t mean there weren’t dragon couples living together.
In the eyes of everyone, including their two daughters, Leon and Roswiser were a loving couple, so living together seemed natural; not living together was the weird part.
The couple hadn’t foreseen that their diligent efforts to maintain a happy family would lead them to the “living together” abyss.
They exchanged glances, and Roswiser decided it was time to argue back.
“Noia, actually, I’m still not even two months into the pregnancy; it doesn’t change anything. There’s no rush for Dad to move in with me.”
Implying that they could reconsider later.
Noia, however, shook her head stubbornly, “Pregnancy is something that must be taken seriously; there can’t be any mistakes.”
Hearing her daughter’s words and seeing her stubborn little face, Roswiser felt utterly confused.
Why was Noia so concerned about her pregnancy?
With that serious expression, Roswiser had no doubt that if it were possible, Noia would want to drop out of school to take care of her mother.
Even if she was more mature than her peers, Roswiser had never seen Noia so fixated on something.
The reason behind this was some old memories.
During the time Dad was unconscious, Roswiser was depressed after just giving birth to the two sisters, and Noia had seen her like that several times.
Although she was younger then, her sensitive nature already picked up on Mom’s unhappiness and the deep sorrow in her heart.
Back then, Noia didn’t have much life experience and didn’t know what had happened between her parents.
Still, she silently vowed that if such a situation ever arose again, she wouldn’t let Mom show that sorrowful expression again.
Now that Mom was pregnant, Noia sensed she might have to face some of the past worries again.
That was why she was so insistent about having Dad move in to take care of Mom.
What did a child know about adult grievances? She just didn’t want to see her mom sad!
With no one making a final decision at the dinner table, Noia suggested, “If Mom can’t decide, how about a family vote?”
“Family vote?”
“Yep! All four of us will raise our hands; those who agree with Dad and Mom moving in together, please raise your hands!” Noia was the first to raise her little hand.
Moon followed suit, excitedly raising her arm high.
Leon didn’t immediately voice his opinion, instead looking at Roswiser.
He saw Roswiser hesitating, a rare sight.
No wonder, since they were essentially a fake couple, a fake family. The only real things in this household were their two adorable daughters; everything else was make-believe, so there was really no need to live together.
Leon guessed Roswiser would probably vote “no.”
Then, he’d follow up with a “no” vote too, resulting in a 2:2 stalemate where they’d just maintain the status quo or discuss it later.
He figured Roswiser was thinking along the same lines, just buy some time.
However, Roswiser’s response caught Leon off guard.
“I… abstain.”
The three daughters stared in shock. Did they really just forfeit the vote?
Leon squinted, scrutinizing Roswiser. What was this mother dragon up to?
But if she was abstaining, wouldn’t that mean Leon’s vote was meaningless?
After a brief moment of surprise, the two daughters turned to their dad in unison.
Leon wasn’t particularly shaken by this development.
Living together with Roswiser didn’t hugely impact him.
If they were to “hand in homework,” they were on equal footing now.
As long as it wasn’t like that night a few days ago when she trapped him, having the upper hand morally, Leon was in the clear.
Moreover, on the bright side, living together had its perks.
At least he wouldn’t have to sneak into Roswiser’s room anymore just to follow the prenatal education plan.
He could simply wait for her to fall asleep and then enthusiastically indoctrinate the second child with human culture.
With that thought, Leon shrugged. “Now we have two votes in favor and one abstention, so it doesn’t change the outcome no matter which way I go.”
Upon hearing that, Noia’s tense little face broke into a smile. “Great! Then, Dad, you should move into Mom’s room later!”
“Oh, so eager, aren’t we?”
“Yup.”
“Alright then, I’ll move over later.”
“Yay~ Dad and Mom will be living together now~!” Moon cheered, wagging her tail.
The couple looked at each other simultaneously.
Roswiser’s expression was a bit complex; it was hard to tell what her stance on living together really was.
But one thing was for sure: starting tonight, this clueless couple was entering the post-marriage living-together phase.
There was no time to reminisce about the days of sleeping apart; they were heading straight into the battlefield of cohabitation!
And our dragon-slaying extraordinaire, Leon Casmod, was already plotting how to unleash his first move tonight! After all, it took less than a day for Roswiser’s “Seven O’Clock Prohibition” to become a mere suggestion. Well… tonight, let’s start with that as our opening shot!
