1 The Silver Dragon Lady Wants Me to Confess
They found a couple of clean outfits and took turns showering.
They didn’t shower together because they didn’t want to engage in any strenuous activity after breakfast—it could mess up their bodies and lead to stomach droop.
After washing away five days of fatigue and toil, the couple comfortably hopped into bed.
They planned to catch a little nap to recharge.
However, exhaustion and sleepiness are two different things; lying on the bed, they felt drained but had zero desire to doze off.
Perhaps it was the sweetness of their little “separation” that made them unwilling to spend the first few hours of their reunion sleeping.
On the bed, their poses were surprisingly in sync.
They leaned against the headboard, hands clasped on their bellies, and in between them lay a big and a small teddy bear.
Roswiser was barefoot, gazing at her dainty little jade feet, occasionally wiggling her toes as if passively passing the time.
Or maybe she was waiting for Leon to say something.
Time ticked by, and Roswiser glanced at the wall clock. It was already 9 AM.
If they didn’t say something soon, the whole morning would be gone.
She stole another look at her Dragon Slayer husband, who was expressionlessly staring at her feet—not his own, mind you, but hers.
Well, it seemed picking on him for a conversation was a no-go.
Roswiser stretched her legs, lightly nudging Leon’s with her cold little toes.
“What’s up?” Leon replied lazily, his gaze never leaving Roswiser’s feet.
“Foot fetishist.”
“…I’m not.”
“If you’re not, then why are you staring at my feet?”
“Where else am I supposed to look?” Leon shrugged helplessly.
Ah, well, point taken.
The Queen’s room was designed with a minimalist flair, devoid of any unnecessary decorations.
With Leon feeling tired and unable to sleep, rather than waste time fixating on the boring minimalist decor, it made more sense to appreciate his faux wife’s feet for a little aesthetic enjoyment.
Was this called a foot f*tish?
Nope.
This was called spending time wisely—ah, no—investing in the finer things.
Roswiser gave a playful hum and lifted her leg, placing it on Leon’s.
Her soft calf was quite warm and smooth, rubbing against Leon’s skin in a pleasant way.
But Leon wasn’t falling for her tricks.
He simply pulled his leg away—then placed it on Roswiser’s leg instead.
Roswiser raised an eyebrow, shooting Leon a glare before rolling onto her side, placing another leg on Leon’s.
Now they were in a leg sandwich situation.
Oh, feeling feisty, are we?
General Leon was game for a full-blown leg showdown.
He rolled onto his side to face Roswiser and stacked his other leg atop hers.
Their upper bodies were close, noses nearly touching, breaths mingling; meanwhile, their four legs below formed a messy braid, tangling adorably.
Leon smirked, “I win; my leg’s on top.”
The Queen snorted, “Don’t get too cocky; who says we can only use legs?”
Leon blinked, thinking, could it be that this Mother Dragon had some hidden talents?
Just as confusion settled in, he saw her silver tail sh**t up behind her and—with a loud thwack—it slapped down on his top leg.
Leon winced, baring his teeth in pain.
Roswiser erupted in giggles.
She cupped the Dragon Slayer’s face, pretending to gaze longingly, “See, honey? Having a tail is so convenient! Let me give you one too, okay?”
Leon kicked his legs and unwound their “braid,” rolling over flat, “Not necessary.”
“Fine, whatever.”
Roswiser turned back, hugging her tail smugly, playfully teasing the tip with her fingers.
After a moment, she asked, “By the way, you ran away from the Empire to come back to me, right?”
“I’m lying on your bed now; doesn’t that clarify anything?”
“I don’t want your rhetorical questions; give me a straight answer.”
Roswiser propped herself up, eyeing Leon, “You went through so much to escape the Empire, didn’t you do it to find me?”
Leon pondered, then emphatically replied, “No.”
The Queen frowned, “Then what for?”
“To find our daughter.”
The next second, a big teddy bear was smothering Leon’s face.
“One day, I’ll craft that mouth of yours into the world’s toughest armor!”
“Then I’ll use your mouth to forge the weapon for that armor!”
The couple started wrestling on the bed.
After some playful banter, Leon finally nudged the teddy bear aside from his face, “Actually, your guess was spot-on; the Empire does have ties with Constantine.”
Roswiser didn’t seem particularly surprised. She sat beside Leon, hugging the teddy bear, pondering softly, “That crazy male dragon actually teamed up with humans…”
Leon nodded, “Yep, and his real goal for attacking your Silver Dragon Temple was to eliminate me because the Empire knew I survived that assassination attempt three years ago. If I returned to the Empire, I could uncover their secrets, so they had to take me out.”
“So… what’s their agenda for this partnership? How long has this cooperation lasted?”
“That I don’t know. My Master says he wants to unveil the Empire’s schemes, but we can’t all stick around the Empire. I need to return to the Dragon Race. It’s for my safety and to uncover the Empire’s hidden truths sooner.”
Leon explained, “My Master is investigating inside the Empire while I’m gathering intel on the Dragon side, keeping in touch every three months at the cave where my Master used to hide.”
Hearing about Leon’s plan with his Master, Roswiser raised an attractive eyebrow. “That exchange schedule and location don’t seem like something you came up with on your own, do they?”
Leon grinned, “We’re family, what’s mine is yours!”
In an instant, Roswiser blushed, softly punching Leon’s chest with her teddy bear, “Don’t be shameless! Who’s family with you?”
After a pause, Roswiser suddenly seemed to realize something, her previously flushed cheeks turning stoic,
“Oh~ Now I get it. You Casmod! If you didn’t come back to investigate the Empire and Constantine’s schemes, you wouldn’t have returned, right? Is that what it means?”
Leon blinked in confusion, thinking, hadn’t that ten-month pregnancy already happened? Why was this Mother Dragon still nitpicking and throwing a fit?
Looking at Roswiser’s beautiful silver eyes filled with longing, Leon felt a little stir in his heart and tentatively said, “Mother Dragon, you wouldn’t really… miss me, would you?”
If Leon were to apply for a job, his résumé under “Most Skilled At” would consist of three things:
First, dragon-slaying;
Second, being stubborn;
Third, asking rhetorical questions.
But, as the saying goes, you can’t sleep in the same bed and not have two types of people.
Compared to Leon, Roswiser was no less remarkable.
“Hah, miss you? It’s just the daughters who miss you. Even if I come up with the best excuses, they’ll pin me down, so I wanted you back. And you dare suggest I’d miss you? Absurd!”
Leon pouted, “Okay, okay, it’s all for the daughters.”
After some more back-and-forth, seeing the Mother Dragon’s longing expression not fading, Leon figured he should answer her earlier question seriously.
“If everything gets settled after I deal with the traitor, I think… I’ll still come back.”
After a pause, he quickly added, “Ah, but don’t misunderstand; saying I’ll come back doesn’t mean I’ll stay forever. I still need to visit the Empire to check on my Master and Mistress as well as the donkey. After all… as long as the daughters don’t get suspicious, right?”
He explained awkwardly like a love-struck high schooler, desperate to communicate his actions while hiding the flaming passion and sincerity burning deep within him.
Because that would ruin his cool image.
Roswiser’s beautiful gaze fixed on Leon as she saw him trying to express his feelings but holding back out of pride.
Oh well, you’re still young, so I won’t hold it against you.
“Oh, got it.” Roswiser replied nonchalantly.
“Got… what?”
You understood what?
Don’t you dare misunderstand!
Roswiser chuckled softly and leaned forward, placing her hands on the bed and inching closer to Leon’s face. Looking into his dark eyes, she gently said,
“Let’s put it simply… you miss me, don’t you?”
The Dragon Slayer’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly grabbed a nearby teddy bear to shield himself between him and Roswiser,
“Absurd! Saying I miss you is more ridiculous than you missing me!”
“Is that so? Then you better keep it together and not accidentally spill your feelings to me or—confess or something like that. Or else I might—”
“Might what?”
“Reject you wholeheartedly! Just imagine how pitiful you’d be if I turned you down~”
Leon squinted, “Just wait, Mother Dragon, even if the world ends or roads vanish, you’ll never hear me confess, open up, or…”
