### Chapter 37: Isn’t It Wonderful?
The Leader paused for a moment, his mind a whirlwind of complex thoughts.
Night Lan, eyeing the Leader’s unchanging expression, cautiously asked, “Um… is that not allowed?”
At last, the Leader spoke up.
“You… certainly have the qualifications to become the Sunlight Night Watcher of the capital… but your reasoning… well, fine, let’s go with it.”
The Leader sighed lightly, conceding to Night Lan’s request.
For anyone else, the Leader would have never entertained such a capricious demand.
But Night Lan was different; her identity and value made her too important to ignore.
However, to become a Sunlight Night Watcher at headquarters, she’d need to navigate through all the bureaucratic red tape—missing even one step would be a disaster.
Following the normal process would undoubtedly expose her secrets, so…
It was time to pull out the Leader’s trademark dictatorial flair.
“Then, in the name of Ling Feng, Leader of the Night Watchers, I hereby declare that Night Watcher Night Lan shall become one of the Sunlight Night Watchers at headquarters, enjoying all the highest privileges, of course, including that fancy vehicle you wanted.”
“Yay!”
Night Lan immediately cheered.
“Can I retire now?”
“You haven’t received your car yet. I’ll have Ji Yun deliver it to you later.”
“Then I’ll retire once I get it.”
“Suit yourself.”
The Leader felt a twinge of regret.
Is the overall privilege of a headquarters Night Watcher still less than that of a mass-produced car?
Forget it; as long as she’s happy, that’s what matters.
“Anyway, hurry up and prepare. You’re counting on me this time.”
“Okay, I’m off then!”
After bidding farewell to the Leader, Night Lan teleported back to the lounge with Ji Yun’s help, ready for another snooze.
Once Ji Yun left, Night Lan began to mumble to herself.
“Speaking of which… tomorrow is the weekend. Night Star should be going out to perform with the Group Leader. If dreaming needs to be done during this time, it looks like it’ll have to be up to good old Night Lan.”
Fortunately, Night Star Lan was already skilled at multitasking; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to keep up.
In any case, it’s time to sleep!
Regardless of whether daydreams actually exist, daytime and nighttime must spend most of their time snoozing.
If not, it at least frees up daytime for her; no one likes being too busy.
If one spent all day lost in dreams, who could handle that?
Even Night Star Lan, who enjoyed a good break, didn’t like long naps.
With these thoughts, Night Lan lay down, closed her eyes, and prepared to dive into the dreamscape.
A little while later, she was out like a light.
A bunch of Sunlight Night Watchers also gradually drifted off to sleep.
Under the influence of a mysterious force, their consciousness was swiftly drawn into an ethereal dream.
At this moment, the hypothesis of daydreams was fully confirmed.
Night Lan opened her eyes to find a scene unlike any other she’d seen at night.
“Oh… my theory actually turned out to be true? Daydreams really do exist…”
Curious, Night Lan looked around, intrigued by the status of the daydreams.
There was a significant difference between night dreams and daydreams.
In night dreams, the skies were dark, the city was filled with neon lights, and everything had a futuristic vibe.
In contrast, the sky in daydreams was bright and sunny, just like in reality—exceedingly ordinary.
Plus, the daytime dreams didn’t seem very lively.
Night Lan glanced around, noticing there wasn’t a soul in sight on the streets—it felt eerily deserted, so much so that she briefly suspected she had stumbled into a ghost town.
“Ah, so… does that mean there are fewer people napping during the day, leading to fewer dreamers?”
With that thought, Night Lan quickly understood.
The number of people sleeping during the day was definitely outnumbered by nighttime dreamers.
Given that, it seemed perfectly reasonable for the dreamscape to be so sparsely populated.
“Hmm… I should go find the Leader and the others. It’s too quiet here, and it feels a bit creepy…”
To some extent, an overly empty place can create a spine-chilling feeling, making one feel uneasy.
Even though Night Lan had grown accustomed to the exaggerated environment of the Rising Sun Theater, this place felt too foreign and lacked any friendly faces, leaving her devoid of any sense of security.
With that in mind, Night Lan began to move.
Before long, she quickly pieced together her surroundings.
Not surprisingly, this was the entertainment district of the capital.
Having been here twice, Night Lan had a vague memory of the buildings.
Traveling from here to the Night Watcher headquarters wouldn’t take long with the speed of Speedy B.
As she wandered, lost in thought, she kept glancing along the sides of the road.
Then, a storefront caught her eye.
Night Lan blinked as she recognized the familiar facade.
“Day-Night Reversal Club?”
Compared to other desolate storefronts, this club seemed vibrantly alive and was obviously in operation.
Night Lan’s memory kicked in.
The Day-Night Reversal Club was where people party all night and sleep all day, so everyone in the real club was snoozing, providing material for the Dream Narrator to weave dreams.
It was these daytime sleepers that allowed the Dream Narrator to exist within daydreams.
That’s about the gist of it.
“Let’s go check it out.”
Night Lan cautiously approached.
Once at the door, she tried to push it open, and it swung wide with ease.
Peeking inside, she was greeted by the unmistakable sound of music, exuding a lively rhythm.
Looks like there are quite a few folks in there!
Those party animals are even dreaming while they’re having a blast, huh? That’s over the top!
Night Lan lingered at the entrance, unsure whether to go in or not.
But the problem was, the Dream Narrator could very well be inside.
That feels a bit risky.
Maybe she should go back and get reinforcements before returning.
At the very least, she needed to tell the Leader and the others about the situation at the Day-Night Reversal Club.
If it were nighttime, folks on the streets might find it hard to pinpoint where the Dream Narrator was.
But during the day, the only place packed with people was likely this Day-Night Reversal Club.
So the Dream Narrator could be inside!
Under these circumstances, Night Lan didn’t dare to enter recklessly.
She was definitely not brave!
“Time to skedaddle~ I’m not about to tempt fate; it’s better to play it safe.”
Muttering to herself, Night Lan lightly tiptoed away from the Day-Night Reversal Club.
Just then, a familiar voice echoed from behind her, making her freeze in her tracks.
“Well, well, little lady, you’ve made it here. Care for a chat?”
Night Lan stiffly turned to see the Dream Narrator standing not too far away, intrigued, with the petite Dream Pursuer Yin by their side, looking unfazed.
Night Lan swallowed hard and stammered, “Y-you… how did you know I was here?”
“That’s simple. I’m the one who weaves this dream, and I can sense everything within it.”
“That’s totally cheating!”
“Hahaha, dreams, aren’t they wondrous?”
