59 Absolute Defense? Is That All?
(Combined Edition)
Thunder and fire struck simultaneously, leaving no way to retreat in any direction.
But judging by Star’s demeanor, he had no intention of dodging.
He was going to take the first wave of attacks from Leon and Roswiser head-on.
The blazing Dragon Flame hit the surface of Star’s golden armor first, triggering a series of explosions.
The shockwave from the explosions sank Star’s feet into the hard ground, creating a ring of cracks that spread out from him.
Seeing that Roswiser’s attack was effective, Leon rushed in right after her.
With his lightning sword held high, and with arcs of electricity dancing, he aimed straight at Star’s back.
However, there was only a dull roar of thunder, and Leon’s lightning sword snapped into two pieces.
A blue glow reflected off the helmet of the Black Gold Battle Armor as Leon’s piercing gaze passed through the many shattered pieces of lightning, targeting Star directly.
The old Dragon King leisurely turned his head, looking in Leon’s direction through the thick helmet.
“Is that all you’ve got?”
From beneath the golden armor, a deep and ancient voice echoed again, this time laced with a hint of disdain and mockery.
Leon snorted coldly. “You won’t be disappointed.”
As soon as his voice fell, the two snapped-off pieces of the lightning sword and the countless shards of electricity suddenly burst into dazzling light, transforming into sharp lightning needles that all shot towards Star.
The lightning needles battered against Star’s armor like a torrential downpour, making crackling explosion sounds.
Of course, such an attack couldn’t harm Star in any meaningful way.
But Leon wasn’t planning on hurting Star with that stunt.
The lightning needles integrated into the golden armor, and at first, Star thought it was just a follow-up move from that pesky human brat—completely painless.
However, with each relentless strike from the lightning needles, a feeling of numbness began to spread throughout Star’s whole body.
It felt like countless ants crawling under his skin, coursing through his nerves and bl**d vessels.
Noticing the effect of the lightning needles, Leon and Roswiser quickly moved to either side of Star.
After gaining some distance, the married duo concentrated their powers of lightning and fire, directing it all at Star in the middle.
Dragon Flame transformed into fireballs that shot out from Roswiser’s hands;
Lightning gathered into elegant spears that not only increased Star’s numbness but also significantly boosted the damage.
The two elements bombarded Star relentlessly from both sides.
In an instant, thick smoke filled the battlefield.
But the couple’s bombardment continued.
As Roswiser had just mentioned, they were in perfect sync—whatever they did, they did it in perfect harmony.
The smoke quickly enveloped Star.
They decided it was time for the final blow.
The bombardment halted simultaneously.
Roswiser opened her arms, gathering bl**d-red flames in each hand, then melded them together.
The flames took the form of a dragon’s head, roaring towards the smoke ahead.

But the queen’s attack didn’t stop there.
As the fireball of Dragon Fire Extinguishing raced toward Star, Roswiser extended her dragon wings and flapped them fiercely.
The airflow on both sides formed air cannons, dramatically increasing the impact of the Dragon Fire Extinguishing.
On the other side, Leon was not about to hold back either; after the bombardment ceased, he unleashed his ultimate move.
Leon tightly grasped his right wrist, channeling lightning power into his palm.
In the next moment, a wolf made of lightning exploded from Leon’s hand, dashing toward Star in the smoke with a flash and crackle.

Both of them unleashed their ultimate techniques, their attacks disappearing into the thick smoke, quickly followed by a powerful surge of magical shockwaves.
The residual energy of lightning and fire drifted into the sky, like a dazzling fireworks display.
On the ground, the smoke gradually dissipated—
A golden figure stood untouched.
Surrounding Star was a massive ancient bell that enveloped him completely.
The bell shimmered faintly, with remnants of Leon and Roswiser’s energy gleaming from it.
Roswiser gasped, her silver eyes trembling slightly. “What is… that thing…?”
The Radiant Star Dragon King, Star, one of the oldest dragon kings of them all.
However, his abilities had never been recorded in any document or ancient tome.
Engaging him in battle without any intel was sure to cost them.
From afar, Anna and the others were also watching this unfold.
Sherry stared wide-eyed at the ancient bell, her voice trembling. “That’s a combo attack from His Majesty and His Royal Highness… No one could withstand that level of attack, not even Constantine, right? But it seems there’s no damage done to Star at all.”
“It’s no wonder His Majesty teamed up with His Royal Highness for this battle. This enemy… far surpasses Constantine.”
Anna’s voice was dim.
Even without stepping onto the battlefield, Star’s pressure was still enough to make her feel breathless.
That ancient dragon king was far too mysterious; even at the beginning of this fight, he had displayed a level of terrifying defense beyond their comprehension.
It’s hard to say if His Majesty and His Royal Highness can find a way to break through.
Meanwhile, several kilometers away on the general’s platform, Rave’s grim face finally broke into a smug smile.
“I admit what you said earlier, Leon Casmod does have some skills, actually forcing Star to use that move right at the start, but it ends here.”
Nacho glanced at Rave, “What’s that big bell about?”
“That’s the strongest defensive magic Star spent a thousand years to create—Absolute Defense · Twilight Bell.”
Rave proudly explained to this shortsighted human about the achievements of their dragon race in the field of magic.
“Four hundred years ago, in the dragon race’s deeper, lesser-known world, Star waged a battle against four other dragon kings over the golden armor he wears.”
“The one who first obtained the armor, Star, became the main target, with the other four dragon kings attacking him simultaneously.”
“But in front of Star’s ‘Twilight Bell,’ their attacks were like mere tickles, inflicting no damage whatsoever.”
“Ultimately, the Radiant Star Dragon King secured that set of armor and earned the title of ‘Absolute Defense.’”
Nacho silently listened, pondering for a moment before asking, “So… no one has ever broken through his defense, right?”
“Exactly. There’s never been anyone in this world who has, nor will there ever be.”
Rave sighed deeply, gazing at the distant battlefield.
“That’s why I say it ends here. If you can’t break through the enemy’s defense, continuing to fight is utterly pointless. Leon Casmod now has two options—
One, wait until his stamina runs out and then get slowly killed by Star;
Two, while he still has some strength left, make a break for it, but he’ll ultimately be executed.
Different choices, same result—just a matter of time.”
Nacho, fully aware of the monster the empire had nurtured, took a deep breath and softly said,
“I think he actually has a third option.”
Rave was taken aback, frowning, “What?”
The answer to him wasn’t Nacho.
It was the sudden sound of a sharp bird’s cry echoing across the battlefield.
Star slowly turned, following the sound of the bird’s cry.
A figure in silver armor stood there, gathering the violently exploding power of lightning in his hand.
“Thunder Strike?—Oh no, in human terms, this magic should be called ‘Thousand Birds,’ but it’s the same difference. Are you planning to use such childish magic to break my strongest defense?”
Star wanted to laugh but struggled to suppress it.
He thought someone who had defeated Constantine would bring him some unexpected surprises.
Turns out, it was nothing special.
Leon slowly bent down, adopting a low stance, prepping to charge forward.
“The strongest defense often requires the simplest methods to break. Old Dragon King, just you watch.”
As soon as his voice dropped, the power of lightning surged even more, and the sound of birds rang out across the battlefield.
Rippling waves of air spread outward, blowing away dust and debris around Leon.
Just using a mere fifty percent of magical power for Thundering Birds wouldn’t be enough to pierce that bell.
So, he needed some additional boosts.
For instance—
Nine Gates of Hell · Fourth Gate—Open!
Leon pushed off the ground, shooting out like a cannonball.
The Thundering Birds trailed just ten centimeters above the ground, the violent power of lightning kicking up a storm of dust in its wake, carving a long trench.
That trench resembled a giant python rushing towards Star, its speed and ferocity jaw-dropping.
Not only was Leon limited to fifty percent of his magical power, but the distance between him and Star wasn’t very great either.
If he couldn’t leave enough room for a sprint, the Thundering Birds wouldn’t unleash their full potential.
So if distance wasn’t enough, speed would have to suffice. While speed might not change inertia, it could provide Leon with enough momentum before impact.
And after unlocking the fourth gate of the Nine Gates of Hell, the user’s movement speed would dramatically increase.
With the new skill unlocked called—
Godspeed.
Leon’s speed exceeded Star’s expectations.
But it didn’t matter; Star still planned to take the hit head-on.
Absolute Defense · Ancient Bell! Descend Again!
The ominous ancient bell enveloped Star within, and he waited calmly for that ignorant brat to fly into the flame like a moth.
If Leon really charged at such high speed, there would be no doubt that Star’s absolute defense would turn him into a puddle of mush.
And he couldn’t pull back now.
Star smirked, “Constantine, how could you lose to such a brainless fool? It’s a disgrace to the dragon race—”
Lightning erupted, and the sound of birds filled the sky.
The ancient bell surrounding Star shook violently from the impact of the lightning.
Energy rippled outward in circles.
And beneath that golden armor, Star’s face began to harden in shock.
Crack!—
A thin crack suddenly appeared on the surface of the Twilight Bell!
“What, what… how, how is this possible?!”
“There’s no defense in this world that cannot be broken. If there is, it’s just that it hasn’t met me yet.”
The Thundering Birds pierced through the so-called Absolute Defense of the Twilight Bell, and right behind it came an ocean of blazing fire from above.
