68 Look Out
Dad’s Magical Girl (not really)
“Six months left? What… does that mean? What’s happening in six months?” Leon asked a bit frantically.
He had a sinking feeling deep down.
That uneasy feeling wasn’t just because Aurora mentioned “six months,” but also because he hadn’t seen Roswiser or Noia Moon since waking up.
Especially with that rundown Silver Dragon Temple behind him, it looked like it had weathered a fierce battle.
“From this moment on, in six months, I must complete my research—oh, I mean I’ve got to complete it.”
Aurora said, “But everything will change six months after the moment you vanished.”
Leon sat up straight, his nerves kicking in as he probed, “Does this have something to do with your mom and sisters? Where are they? What’s going on? Are they still—”
Still alive?
He didn’t dare voice that last question.
Compared to wondering why he’d been wandering outside of time for twenty years, he was more concerned about his wife and daughter.
Twenty years is enough time for anything unexpected to happen.
Aurora chuckled, “They’re all still alive.”
Those four simple words made Leon sigh in relief, his tense body finally relaxing.
“Then where are they now?” he asked right after.
“Well… it’s going to be hard to understand just by talking. So—”
Aurora stood up and walked over to an open area.
Leon looked at her, puzzled about what she was up to.
In the next moment, Aurora’s action completely stunned Daddy Dearest.
She slightly tilted her head back, and suddenly a pair of dragon wings unfurled from her back.
The wings wrapped around Aurora’s body.
Moments later, when the wings opened again, a silver dragon materialized right before Leon’s eyes.
Daddy Dearest was totally dazed, dropping his skewer without even noticing.
He stared at the silver dragon, and although Aurora’s dragon form was much smaller than Roswiser’s, it still left Leon speechless.
It was like leaving your daughter back home to work, then coming back two years later only to find her with an AK-47 saying, “Dad, let’s go bomb A-point!”
Emm—total madness!
Thud—thud—
The dragon elegantly approached the stunned old man and gently nudged him with its head,
“Why haven’t you transformed into a dragon yet?”
General Leon shook himself back to reality, “Huh? Me?”
“Yeah, hurry up and transform, and then we can go find big sis.”
Does this thing just transform on command?
Am I your magical girl or what?
Leon awkwardly scratched his forehead, realizing Roswiser really kept her word. She never exposed his identity, managing to hide it from their daughter for twenty years.
Well, if that’s the case, he couldn’t drop the ball now; he had to keep up the act.
“Dad just crawled out of a Rift… not feeling well, can’t transform yet.”
“Oh~~ so it’s not feeling well~~” Aurora said in an exaggerated tone, “Alright, I guess I’ll just have to carry you then.”
“Um, looks like that’s the only option.”
Just like the ancient crows feeding their parents, here’s Little Light giving Dad a ride—just a classic case of fatherly love!
Aurora bent down, letting Leon climb onto her back.
“Are you steady?”
“Yep.”
“Then—off we go!”
The dragon flapped its mighty wings, extinguishing a nearby campfire, shooting straight up into the sky before disappearing into the night with a bang.
“You said we’re going to find Noia? Isn’t she with Mom and Moon?”
“Nope, she’s far away… waiting for you.”
“Waiting… for me?”
“Uh-huh.”
Leon opened his mouth, wanting to ask more questions.
But seeing how his daughter was being tight-lipped about it, she probably didn’t want to reveal too much right now.
Leon caught the vibe and decided to let it go.
He sat cross-legged on Aurora’s back, feeling just like the time he’d been on Roswiser.
The unique speed of the Silver Dragon Race, with the wind rushing past his ears—it all felt so familiar.
To be honest, Leon never expected to survive after diving into that spatial Rift.
And now alive, a ton of questions loomed before him, leaving him utterly confused.
But hey, it’s better than being separated from family, right?
Just—
Leon sighed heavily and peered down at the land below.
It felt like… he didn’t belong to this world twenty years later.
Was it the stark contrast that made him feel this way?
Or something else…
He couldn’t quite figure it out.
All he wanted was to see his wife and daughter as soon as possible.
“Speaking of which, I feel like I’ve never really seen what your dragon form looks like.”
Aurora’s voice interrupted Leon’s thoughts.
He came back to reality, clearing his throat, “Uh, well… once Dad recovers, I’ll show you.”
“Cool! But… it seems your health hasn’t been great for a while.”
Aurora said, “I remember when you had a cold as a kid, I made you Dragon Strength, and the next day you were bouncing around! So, do you want me to whip up another one for you? You’ll recover fast!”
“No, no, no, I don’t need that! Too much, and it’ll have the opposite effect—not something for regular use.”
Mostly because it makes your back sore.
“Oh really? Alright then.”
Leon might not have realized he was rambling about Dragon Strength’s effects in front of a twenty-year-experienced dragon scholar.
It was probably because, in his subconscious, he still thought of this dragon as that little Light who used to follow him around, asking a million questions.
And Aurora was surprisingly cooperative, not calling him out.
Was it out of consideration for Daddy’s feelings, or something else?
Hard to say, hard to say.
……
After several hours of flying, the father-daughter duo arrived at the junction of the Dragon and Human territories.
Leon recognized this place.
He also guessed where Noia was waiting for him.
Some cave behind a waterfall in the mountains.
However, before Leon could get excited about seeing his eldest daughter, a stark realization hit him:
If Noia really was here, then that meant they already knew their old man was a human!
After all, that cave was only known to him, Roswiser, Master, and Rebecca.
He had only asked Little Light about Roswiser—didn’t even mention Master or Rebecca because he feared it would raise Little Light’s suspicions.
But then again, if Little Light knew about Leon’s identity, why did she just ask him to transform into his dragon form?
After thinking it through, Leon decided to stay quiet for a bit.
As he thought earlier, twenty years could bring about the most unexpected changes.
Until he figured everything out, silence was golden.
