Chapter 393

Chapter 45: Counterattack

At the Night Watcher Base in Qi Yuan City.

Hei Yang and his crew were intently monitoring the Rising Sun Theater Group through their surveillance screens.

Even though they strolled into the costume city, Star Technology had its ways of keeping an eye on them.

Hei Yang sat back in his chair, clicking his tongue in amazement.

“Who would’ve thought that weird theater troupe would actually go shopping? That’s rare.”

Bing Lixie chuckled lightly.

“Not just rare, I’d say this is the first time, right? At least it’s the first time we’ve spotted them.”

Hei Yang nodded contemplatively.

“True, but those Star Eclipses hardly seem interested in shopping. I don’t think they have that sort of hobby. They must be dragged out by the Audience Performers, quite a sight indeed.”

Hei Yang was starting to suspect that the Audience Performer had a blindness to the dangers of their own troupe.

After all, the Rising Sun Theater Group was pretty dangerous with their instability level higher than a human’s.

Yet here was the Audience Performer, bringing them all out. Talk about being carefree!

But then again, this also meant the Audience Performer had confidence in their theater members, thinking they wouldn’t get into trouble.

However, Star Eclipses are still Star Eclipses; even if they achieved legal status, they’d still be under the Watcher’s scrutiny.

As long as they appeared in human society, they wouldn’t escape the Night Watchers’ eyes. Discovering them meant monitoring—a form of security.

As Hei Yang watched the footage, he suddenly noticed something unusual.

“Wait a minute. Is there an extra member in that troupe?”

At Hei Yang’s words, Bing Lixie and Mo Qianmeng started paying close attention and indeed spotted an additional figure.

It was a girl with cherry-white long hair who had never shown up before.

One thing was for sure, she was definitely a Star Eclipse, as Star Technology had picked up her energy.

With her now in the Rising Sun Theater Group, did this mean she was also a member of the troupe?

“Is she a new member? If so, will she make an appearance tomorrow?”

Hei Yang murmured, suddenly feeling that the overall strength of the Rising Sun Theater’s Star Eclipse organization was increasing.

If they let the theater group grow unchecked, who knows how many members they’d end up with, and the number of Star Eclipses would rise too.

By then, even the Night Watchers might not be able to handle them.

Bing Lixie whispered, “Definitely a new member, but she doesn’t seem bad. That Audience Performer girl should manage fine.”

Sometimes, the instinct of a Night Watcher is surprisingly accurate.

Especially since Bing Lixie had lived quite a long time, she was even more adept at reading people.

Meanwhile, Mo Qianmeng was glued to the footage of the Announcer, very intrigued by her identity.

Why did she always have this odd urge to spank the Announcer?

Could she not shake off the memory of what was said that day?

Scene Change.

Night Star handed a small-sized female outfit to Mo Rabbit and wore a friendly smile.

“Mo Rabbit, go change into this, okay?”

Mo Rabbit took the clothes and stared at them, falling silent.

The costume was even more outrageous than her current troupe outfit.

In other words, it was wildly feminine in both color and style—a cute little outfit!

The thought of wearing that made her a little resistant.

Mo Rabbit shot Night Star a glance.

“Get me a different one.”

“Umm, umm~”

Night Star promptly snatched another outfit from Kong Yu Bai and handed it to Mo Rabbit.

The latter glanced at the new costume and fell silent again.

“Isn’t it the same?”

“Really?” Night Star feigned ignorance.

Before Mo Rabbit could say anything, Night Star took action, pushing her into the changing room.

“Just try it on. If you stubbornly refuse to wear it, I’ll get someone to help you change! You wouldn’t want that, right?”

Mo Rabbit’s mouth twitched.

She finally understood that ominous feeling she had earlier.

So, this was Night Star’s plan to mess with her?

It had to be said; this was pretty effective. Mo Rabbit couldn’t help but feel annoyed.

The kicker was that it seemed this wasn’t just Night Star’s idea—her friends were in on some kind of twisted plan too.

Maybe this was Night Star’s way of getting back at her.

But I must admit, her plan was successful.

Mo Rabbit was feeling all kinds of complex emotions, like she’d bitten into a sour lemon.

She figured that this little loli was probably having a blast.

In Night Star’s eyes, Mo Rabbit was just a fun little toy.

That’s probably how it looked.

With that thought, Mo Rabbit smirked slightly.

“Fine, let’s do as you say.”

With that, Mo Rabbit turned and stepped into the changing room, leaving Night Star looking somewhat bewildered.

Why did it feel like… Mo Rabbit was no longer resistant?

Could it be she was accepting her fate?

Just as Night Star fumbled through those thoughts, a small figure emerged from the changing room.

Mo Rabbit seemingly had changed outfits.

She stood there, sporting an adorable smile with a hint of mischief in her eyes, one hand lifting the lovely skirt.

“How do I look… dear Audience Performer? Are you satisfied? Or should I spin around for you?”

At those words, Night Star’s skin crawled.

“Whoa…!”

Night Star quickly ducked behind Kong Yu Bai, suddenly feeling a little frightened.

Although Mo Rabbit now looked cute, it was unsettlingly unnatural—as if she was putting on a show.

Seeing this, Mo Rabbit approached Night Star, still keeping her cute smile, even altering her usual tone.

Now she spoke like a naïve little loli, one that could melt the heart of any loli lover out there.

Well, Night Star was already losing her mind over it.

“Whoa, this is so wrong! Are you trying to prank me?!”

“How can you say that? It was the Audience Performer who made me wear this dress. I’m just following orders, but here you are, not appreciating my cute self. How hurtful!”

Mo Rabbit looked utterly dejected, wearing a pitiful expression.

Before she could say anything more, she suddenly felt herself being lifted up.

Turning around, she discovered it was the masked Fraudster.

“Tsk, what are you doing?”

Mo Rabbit’s current feeling was like watching her fun get interrupted.

“Announcer, I must say your acting skills are quite impressive. Would you be interested in becoming an actor for the troupe? I think it’s time for you to branch out.”

“Not interested. I don’t like performing.”

“But I think your skills are lovely! At least they are presentable. The troupe doesn’t mind adding another actor; it would provide so much more flexibility.”

“Is that so? Let’s put that aside for now and how about you set me down first?”

Mo Rabbit maintained a polite smile, but her tone was anything but friendly.

Being carried like this by someone like the Fraudster was rather humiliating—it was just so embarrassing.

Watching this unfold, Night Star let out a sigh of relief.

She thought that Mo Rabbit had instantaneously turned into a new woman.

Guess this guy was just messing with her after all.
