Chapter 8: Love Tutoring Class (3)
Roswiser was enjoying the delightful expression on Leon’s face as his dark past was being unveiled.
Hmm, yes, indeed! Shocked, surprised, confused, and a bit flushed, just like any adolescent boy would be.
Oh darling, you’re so adorably cute—
Of course, “darling” is just a joke, and “cute” is a bit of an insult.
The Queen crossed her legs, resting her chin on one hand, her beautiful silver eyes fixed on Leon, a faint smile playing on her lips.
She wasn’t in a hurry to continue speaking; it seemed she was waiting for Leon to defend himself.
After a while, she noticed Leon sitting there awkwardly, looking like he was on a bed of nails, yet still managing to keep his mouth shut, refusing to explain a single word.
Roswiser raised an elegant eyebrow, “Don’t you want to say something about this silver-haired senior?”
As a matter of fact, Roswiser had heard her master mention the silver-haired girl a long time ago.
And during the heart-to-heart session at two-thirty in the morning, Roswiser had picked up some juicy details about her.
To her knowledge, Roswiser and Leon had never formally discussed this topic; she had only teased him once or twice under the pretense of saying, “I heard you talking in your sleep.”
So now she wanted to seize the moment, fresh from her big scoop from Rebecca, to have a good chat about the mysterious “silver-haired classmate.”
Ah.
Not really a chat, more like she just wanted to mess with him a little and see how flustered he could look.
If he could make her smile after the awkwardness, she might just let him off the hook this time;
But if he failed, then hum, he better watch out for this queen spilling her jealousy all over his dog head!
“Say… say something…”
Leon swallowed, “What do you want to hear?”
“I’ll listen to whatever you say.”
Roswiser took her time, her smile sparkling, “I remember a long time ago, you were dreaming about her.”
“I never talk in my sleep! You’re totally framing me!”
“Oh really? I don’t care; there must have been some silver-haired classmate who left quite an impression on your otherwise dull, straight-man life, right?”
“……”
Not knowing where this Mother Dragon had picked up her information, Leon pursed his lips and reluctantly admitted, “Yes.”
“Well then, what’s the deal? Did you kiss her yet?” The Queen leaned back, arms crossed over her chest like a cop interrogating a suspect.
She knew very well that nothing was going on between Leon and that girl, absolutely as pure as an untouched sheet of paper.
But she wanted to hear Leon admit it himself.
Leon rubbed his palms, looking down at the floor. “No…”
“Not even a kiss? Surely you must have held hands at least?”
“Emmm, I held her wrist while dancing, but that doesn’t really count as holding hands.”
“Dancing? You danced with her?”
“No, no, no! It was a social dance party held by the Academy. Everyone had to go, and we only danced one song, that’s all.”
Sweat beads were forming faster than when General Leon defeated Constantine.
After all, no Dragon King could solve everything with a single thunderbolt; if there’s one, then there’s double;
But no jealous King could be soothed with just a word or two; if there were, it definitely wasn’t Roswiser Melkway!
“Have you ever danced with me?” Roswiser asked.
“You never mentioned anything about dancing…”
“If I didn’t mention it, does that mean you won’t say it on your own?”
Leon: …
What on earth did marriage do to men?
It’s quite disheartening.
Leon silently sighed and quietly asked, “Roswiser, are you… jealous? Or are you angry?”
Roswiser’s eyes flickered for a moment, then she slowly stood up, walked over to Leon, bent down, and gently scratched his nose with her finger.
“I’m not jealous, nor am I angry. I don’t mind that so-called classmate at all. Alright, turn off the lights and come to bed.”
She straightened up and swaggered out of the study.
Then came the sound of her shoes clattering on the floor as she jumped into bed, letting out a content sigh.
Leon sat quietly in his spot, hesitating whether to crash on the sofa tonight…
His master had said that women’s words had to be interpreted backward.
When she says she doesn’t want something, that means she does want it;
When she says it’s fine, it’s definitely not fine;
When she says she’s not angry and not jealous, it’s guaranteed that she’s pouring jealousy like a chef!
Leon wondered if that applied to his master’s wife too.
His master had said it was obvious—otherwise, how would he have figured it out?
Leon then asked, do all women’s words have to be interpreted backwards?
His master thought for a moment and replied, not exactly; when she tells you to get into bed, you don’t need to interpret that backward because she genuinely wants you to jump into bed.
His master hadn’t gone into too much depth, as such things were often understood by long-term couples, and Leon was still quite young back then, so his master had just laughed it off.
Pulling back his thoughts, Leon sighed slowly and then stood up, turning off the study lights, and headed to the bedroom.
He pulled back the covers and lay down.
The blanket was already warmed up by the lovely lady beside him, cozy and fragrant.
Leon turned to see Roswiser facing away, her nightgown’s strap sliding down her shoulder and casually resting on her fair arm.
Leon opened his mouth, ready to explain again about the classmate.
But after a moment’s thought, he let it go.
He’d just talk about it properly tomorrow… Leon thought.
However, just as he was about to close his eyes and drift off, he heard a soft voice beside him.
“Are we just going to sleep like this?”
“… What else is there, Your Majesty?”
“Idiot.”
Roswiser’s tone carried a hint of lingering emotion. “Go ahead and sleep, goodnight.”
Leon’s thoughts stirred.
Wait a minute.
She told him to get into bed and then asked, “Are we just going to sleep like this?” Didn’t that mean she was waiting for Leon to give her a clear answer?
General Leon’s brain was, quite surprisingly, working hard on how to charm his wife this time.
He turned to face Roswiser’s delicate profile, her silver hair shining like a galaxy under the moonlight.
After a while, Leon took a deep breath and said, “I have no relationship with that silver-haired classmate; the closest we ever got was dancing. After the dance, I barely spoke to her again.”
“Hmm.”
The response was rather lackluster.
That meant Leon hadn’t hit the nail on the head.
General Leon’s brain kept churning away.
Moments later, he added, “I can’t even remember her name now, and I certainly couldn’t have had feelings for her back then, could I?”
“Ahhh.”
Still not hitting the mark?
Leon scratched his chin.
This time, he pondered for a long while before finally speaking.
“You’re the first woman I ever hugged, held hands with, and kissed.”
“Mm-hmm, is that so?”
Now that got a reaction!
That was it!
Her tone even had a touch of smugness.
“Yeah.”
Leon continued, “Actually, back in school, I was pretty dull and thick-headed, focusing only on finding a girl that fit my idea of perfection, but the truth is, ‘perfect’ hardly exists in this world.”
“That silver-haired classmate only matched some superficial characteristics of my perfect image, which is why I tried to approach her.”
“But after getting to know her, I realized she was nothing like what I had imagined.”
“It’s not that she or other girls were bad, it’s just that they lowered their stance too much while interacting with me; I didn’t like that.”
“I wanted a partner who could engage with me emotionally, not just someone who would compromise and endure.”
“For a long time, I thought I’d never meet someone like that.”
“Until… I built this fake family with you.”
“Although saying something like ‘you’re the one I’ve been looking for’ is a bit too… sappy.”
“But…”
Leon bit his lip, trying to find the right words.
Yet nothing seemed suitable.
After a brief hesitation, he chuckled self-deprecatingly and then suddenly said seriously, “But you are the one I’ve been looking for, Roswiser.”
Once he finished speaking, Leon felt a bit uneasy.
Throughout his entire speech, Roswiser hadn’t reacted at all.
He bit his lip, unable to stop himself from wondering if he had said something wrong again.
In the past, he never cared about Roswiser’s feelings that much.
But such a long amount of time spent together, along with glimpses of the future he had seen, made it hard for him not to care about this person beside him.
His heart wasn’t made of iron; he could feel emotions for Roswiser—sadness, joy, and all sorts of other feelings.
Leon didn’t know if this counted as ‘love,’ but he certainly didn’t dislike it.
And on Roswiser’s side…
She was almost overwhelmed by the sweetness of her Dog Man’s words.
Can she even handle this?
Hey, hey, hey, she’s a dragon, his arch-enemy, and here he was spouting these sappy lines?
Hmm~~
Well said!
This was her aim in bringing up the subject— it was never about his relationship with that classmate because Roswiser trusted his character.
What really mattered was… her position in his heart.
She wanted to hear Leon say she was his first;
She wanted him to admit just how important she was to him;
Those sappy, ambiguous words, she could never get enough of.
“Done yet?” Roswiser held back a laugh.
“Ah… I’m done.”
“Good. Now come here and hug me.”
“Ah… huh?”
“Don’t you understand? I said, come here and hug me.”
“Oh……”
Leon shuffled over to Roswiser from behind and gently wrapped his arms around her fragrant shoulders.
“Just hugging the shoulders?” Roswiser asked.
“What else…?”
“Hmph, idiot.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Roswiser took his hand and placed it on her waist.
“From now on, you need to hug me like this from behind— understood?”
Leon blinked, oh~~~ got it, she’s happy now.
Since she’s happy, this General doesn’t need to be polite anymore.
His hand “invaded” her waist, inching up toward her soft tummy.
Roswiser quickly pressed down on his wrist, “What are you doing?”
“Just… thought I’d hug you a little tighter.” Leon purred against her neck, his warm breath enveloping her.
And Roswiser was just symbolically stopping him, really.
“Don’t touch me, that tickles, you Dog Man… hey, don’t go down— um~~”
Leon lightly kissed her neck and whispered in her ear, “I won’t take long, Silver Dragon Jealous King; after all, you’ve got to teach tomorrow.”
