16 Happy Weekend
Friday Evening
The Leon family was chilling under the gazebo in front of the Holy Temple, waiting for the “school bus,” Leviathan.
Moon was standing in the yard, her little hand shielding her eyes as she peered at the fiery clouds in the distance.
She tiptoed, her tail wagging behind her, hardly able to contain her excitement for her sister’s return from school.
“Moon, your sister won’t be back for a while yet. No need to rush; come sit and wait,” Roswiser reminded her.
Reluctantly, Moon pulled her gaze away, her little tail drooping sadly, dragging its tip on the ground as she shuffled over to the gazebo.
Seeing his daughter a bit down, Leon scooped her up onto his lap. “Missing your sister?”
Moon nodded vigorously. “It’s been five days since I last saw her! I want my sister so much!”
“Daddy misses her too. How about when she gets back, we race to see who can hug her first? Sound good?” Leon coaxed patiently.
Moon’s eyes lit up, and she proudly put her hands on her hips, tail held high. “Dad, you can’t beat me!”
“So confident?”
“Yup! Because Dad gets weary sometimes. I counted, and it’s exactly the days when you get weak!”
“……”
Leon intended to comfort his daughter and distract her, but suddenly he felt like someone just took a kn*fe and stabbed him in the gut.
Does Dad look like a weakling?
He’s a tough guy, okay?
Your mom knows best.
“Ugh~”
While lost in thought, Leon heard a sigh from the other side.
He turned to see his little light, Little Light, sighing. “What’s up, Little Light?”
Little Light leaned forward, hands stacked, her chin resting on her hands. Another sigh escaped her lips. “Sigh~ The freshness of women is like the candles on the dinner table; it won’t last more than two hours.”
At these words from his little daughter, Leon couldn’t help but gasp.
He immediately glanced at Roswiser, suspecting she secretly taught Little Light all this nonsense.
The Queen shrugged innocently, saying it wasn’t her doing.
She reached over and patted Little Light’s head, asking, “What made you say that all of a sudden?”
“My second sister has lost interest in her lovely little sister. Sigh~ Mom, I feel like I’m walking on thin ice. Do you think I can win my second sister back?”
“……”
This little one might be small, but her mouth sure knows how to run.
Just as Roswiser was pondering how to respond, Moon chimed in.
“Little Light, don’t think like that! I will always like you!”
“Really, Second Sister?”
“Really!”
“Second Sister, hug me~”
Little Light jumped off her stone stool and eagerly wrapped her arms around Moon.
The two sisters hugged tightly, their little tails intertwining like they were planning a dance-off.
Leon and Roswiser exchanged glances, unsure whether they should keep quiet or shower praises on this sisterly love.
In the midst of their hesitation, Leon noticed Little Light covertly giving him an “OK” sign.
In the next second, the old man realized—
This plan to distract Moon was all the work of Lady Aurora!
Leon chuckled to himself and turned to Roswiser.
The Queen, having received Little Light’s signal, wore a proud, satisfied smile.
“Second Sister, are you really going to like Little Light forever?” Little Light asked.
Moon nodded solemnly. “Yep.”
“Really, really?”
“Really really.”
“Really really really—”
Before she could finish, the door erupted with:
“Moon, Little Light, I’m back!”
“Sister, I’m here~”
Little Moon transformed into a speeding b*llet, racing towards the entrance.
Leaving Little Light bewildered behind.
“Can’t you wait to finish your sentence, Second Sister……”
Leon approached Little Light and ruffled her hair, “Cut your second sister some slack; the whole world knows she’s obsessed with her older sister.”
Little Light shrugged. “It’s fine. At least I managed to stalling until Big Sister got back. Dad, mission accomplished~”
Leon chuckled, bending down to scoop Little Light up. “Let’s go welcome your Big Sister.”
“Mm-hmm!”
The three of them strolled out of the gazebo towards the entrance.
As they got closer, they noticed a girl standing beside Noia.
Leon squinted at the dragon girl, who stood a bit taller than Noia, looking cute and warm, a likely classmate of Noia.
Moon’s tail, which had been perked up upon hearing Noia’s voice, drooped once she saw this girl.
Slowing down, she walked to Noia and the girl.
Leon, now carrying Little Light, stood next to Roswiser behind Moon.
“Noia, who’s this…?” Leon asked.
“Oh, hello Uncle, I’m Helena, Noia’s classmate. I’m nine years old this year,” the girl said politely.
Uncle, Uncle…
Hearing that made Leon twitch at the corner of his eyes.
Though it’s normal for kids to call him “Uncle” since he’s a dad now, being called “Uncle” at just twenty-four feels a bit off…
Ah, time doesn’t spare anyone!
“Hello, Auntie,” Helena kindly greeted Roswiser.
For the two-hundred-plus-year-old Mother Dragon, “Auntie” didn’t hit as hard as it did for Leon. She smiled and nodded. “Hello, Helena.”
This kid wasn’t too shy but also wasn’t overly chatty in a way that felt out of place; she clearly knew how to navigate a first meeting—very well done.
Roswiser figured she might not come from an ordinary noble family.
“Mom and Dad, can Helena stay at our house this weekend?” Noia asked.
“Of course,” Roswiser said, nodding.
Having her daughter’s classmate over was no problem at all.
In fact, Roswiser was genuinely pleased that Noia could make friends she could bring home.
The eldest daughter had always been more mature than her peers, thinking more deeply and often putting pressure on herself, leading to a touch of introversion.
Making friends at this stage was a good thing for Noia.
After all, she couldn’t always rely on her dad and two younger sisters to ease her life’s pressures and troubles; she needed some normal social interactions to build her own friendships.
“Thank you, Auntie~” Helena said with a slight bow of thanks.
Immediately, her gaze fell on Moon and Little Light. “Noia, are these the little sisters you often mention?”
“Yup.”
Noia walked over to Moon and took her little hand. “This is Moon, my twin sister. In Dad’s arms is Aurora, we call her Little Light.”
“Hi Little Moon~” Helena reached out her hand to shake Moon’s.
Moon’s big eyes shimmered with a bit of hesitation.
She stared at the girl her sister brought home, memories flooding back to the day they sent her sister back to school.
Back then, in front of the classroom, Noia was being led in by this girl named Helena holding her arm.
Lost in memory, Moon momentarily forgot to greet her.
It was Noia who lightly squeezed her hand, bringing her back to reality.
“Ah! Ah… I’m Moon, which means ‘moon.’”
As Moon shook Helena’s offered hand, she unconsciously gripped it a little tightly.
Meanwhile, Little Light hid in her dad’s arms, raising an eyebrow at the scene.
Oh boy, looks like this weekend is going to be entertaining!
