38 Resurrection! My CP!
After the interview ended, the couple left the room, closed the door, and simultaneously let out a sigh of relief.
“No social d*ath plan—big success!”
Clap—
The two gave themselves a high five, celebrating their monumental victory.
But they quickly realized they were still on the Vice Principal’s turf. Just moments ago, they had described their relationship as “very mundane,” and now they were out here celebrating. It was hard not to think they were just putting on an act.
As they walked through the crowd, they made their way down the stairs to the first-floor hall.
There were still quite a few parents waiting for their young dragons to finish their tests.
Leon scanned his surroundings, not spotting the Vice Principal or any of his spies, before sidling up to Roswiser with an eager smile, seeking praise.
“So, how did my acting skills hold up?”
The Queen crossed her arms and examined the Dog Man thoughtfully, suppressing a smile, “What acting skills? Wasn’t that just your true feelings?”
Leon froze for a second and quickly retorted, “Wha—how is that my true feelings? Didn’t we agree to act like there’s no spark between us?”
“Oh? How do I know you didn’t just take the opportunity to spill your thoughts?”
“Hey, Mother Dragon, you—”
Seeing the clueless macho man get flustered, Roswiser quickly hit the brakes, raising her hand with her index finger pressed lightly against Leon’s lips, “Just kidding, look at you getting all worked up.”
“….”
She seemed to be getting better at this “stop it just in time” thing—not just in bed.
One of Roswiser’s favorite pastimes was teasing her dragon-slaying hero, reveling in his awkwardness and helplessness.
But as the old saying goes, keep walking by the river, and you’re bound to get your shoes wet.
There were times she’d accidentally pushed Leon too far.
At first, Roswiser was patient in soothing him;
But as time passed, she learned Leon’s temperament.
Knowing when he might blow up, she’d quickly act weak before he snapped.
As soon as Roswiser played the damsel, Leon softened right up.
Don’t let the gruff exterior fool you—General Leon really knew how to spoil his wife.
“Your acting was actually pretty good.”
Roswiser complimented, “You expressed the helplessness and sorrow of a married man so vividly, while also conveying your expectations for our marriage. Tsk tsk tsk, the Empire owes you a crown for best performance.”
“Right back at you, I even thought you were really… well, not into me.”
He intended to banter with the Mother Dragon a bit more, but Leon’s words slipped out before he could think.
Too little, too late.
Roswiser grinned, hands behind her back, leaning slightly toward him with her beautiful silver eyes locked onto his, “What? You thought I was no longer… interested?”
“…. Nothing.”
“Come on, did you think I really had lost interest in you? Hmm?”
The Queen’s smile grew, “Oh dear~ Little lion’s scared, how pitiful~”
“This academy has a combat practice field, right?”
Roswiser blinked, surprised, “Yeah… why?”
“Let’s have a duel, that way you can zip it.”
“Tch~”
She was ready to tease the clueless macho man some more, but Leon suddenly made a shushing motion.
She toned down her smile, lowering her voice, “What’s going on?”
“Wilson that old Deng just came in, he’s right behind you—don’t turn around, act like you didn’t see him.”
Roswiser nodded, and they both subtly distanced themselves.
After all, in the Vice Principal’s eyes, they were just a “couple lacking in passion for each other” now.
“Mr. Leon, Mr. Leon, there you are, I’ve been looking for you.”
The Vice Principal approached briskly.
“Is there something, Vice Principal?” Leon asked out of politeness.
“Ah… not really, just wanted to have a chat with you.”
After a pause, the Vice Principal quickly added, “It’s nothing related to this entrance interview or the testing, just a friendly chat.”
Leon didn’t know what this old Deng was up to and turned to Roswiser for confirmation.
She subtly nodded, signaling it was fine.
“Alright, let’s talk.”
“Then please step aside for a moment.” The Vice Principal made a gesture toward a side room.
“Uh… sure, let’s go.”
“Miss Roswiser, please hold on a moment.”
“Mm.”
Leon followed the Vice Principal into the room.
The Vice Principal stood in the doorway, looking around suspiciously before retreating his head in and closing the door.
Leon raised an eyebrow.
What’s this about?
Could it be that the Vice Principal had evolved from a CP leader into a crazed fan and intended to lock him in here?
He really ought to reconsider, after all, if I suddenly go all “thousand bird” on him, my old bones might not hold up!
“Mr. Leon, I wanted to ask you, is it true that you and Miss Roswiser are experiencing… a crisis in your marriage?”
“Huh?”
“Oh, I mean, are you facing some sort of emotional… issue?”
Crossing his arms with a frown, Leon pondered for a moment before responding, “We just detailed our situation in the interview, Vice Principal, there’s no controversy about that, right?”
Seeing that Leon hadn’t answered directly, the Vice Principal felt his heart sink.
“Ugh… so, you really are getting a divorce?”
Leon: ?
“Wait, wait, wait, Vice Principal, what kind of thought process is that? How did you jump straight to divorce?”
“Ah? Mr. Leon, you didn’t answer my question directly, so isn’t that a default? You and Miss Roswiser are having a crisis in your marriage and are now considering divorce.”
“……”
“How could this happen? Mr. Leon… you two were the model couple for the academy just two years ago.”
“Vice Principal… you—”
“Ah, I can’t believe it! How did my favorite couple end up like this?”
“Vice Principal?”
“How about this, Mr. Leon, I know a very professional marriage crisis management team. They have the finest emotional experts from the Dragon Race. Legend has it they once made a 100-year-old male dragon fall for an 800-year-old female dragon. Their skills are top-notch! So as long as you go, they can definitely help!”
“Why is this getting more ridiculous…?”
“No, no, you and Miss Roswiser are both smart people; you wouldn’t necessarily tell the truth even to emotional experts—”
Leon closed his eyes and took a deep breath, “Vice Principal, that’s enough!”
He finally couldn’t hold back and interrupted the Vice Principal’s deep analytical dive.
If he kept this up, tomorrow Leon would be filing for divorce with Roswiser.
The old Deng adjusted his glasses, his expression still grim, “Mr. Leon, you’re quite eager to save your marriage with Miss Roswiser, aren’t you?”
Faced with the Vice Principal’s continuous questioning and skepticism, Leon suddenly felt a surge of fire inside him.
This fire shot straight to his brain, “No, Vice Principal, my wife and I are doing great.”
“Don’t kid yourself, Mr. Leon, I can tell you and Roswiser have already—”
“I’m going to prove it to you right now!”
“Eh?”
With that, Leon sidestepped the Vice Principal, pushed open the room’s door, and confidently strode toward Roswiser, who was still waiting in the hall.
Seeing Leon storming towards her, Roswiser thought she must have said something to upset him again.
“Hey… Leon, what’s up? Let’s talk it out, we—um?! Um, um?!”
In front of bewildered parents and the Vice Principal, Leon pulled Roswiser in tightly at the waist and unhesitatingly kissed her soft lips.
Their lips met, passionate and fervent.
Roswiser was taken aback for a second, symbolically smacking Leon’s arm a couple of times.
But she quickly found herself getting lost in the unexpected kiss.
Though she didn’t quite know what was going on… who could refuse an impulsive kiss from a suddenly frantic man?
“What just happened? Is this part of the family interview?”
“Wow… isn’t that the Dragon Race hero Casmod and his wife? They truly live up to the legends of being so lovey-dovey!”
“How scandalous! How scandalous! Quick, call the Discipline Committee!”
“Shush, even the Discipline Committee is shipping them.”
“……”
The kiss didn’t last long.
Leon soon released Roswiser.
A radiant flush spread across the beauty’s exquisite face. Once she collected her thoughts, she dazedly asked, “Wh-what just happened? What was that?”
“He kept saying our marriage was experiencing a crisis.”
“…… And then?”
“And then I needed to show him that there’s no problem with our marriage at all!”
Roswiser blinked, then playfully punched Leon’s chest, both annoyed and amused, “You impulsive fool… with this, our earlier performance in the interview is all in vain now…”
The reality began to hit Leon as he quickly let go of Roswiser’s waist.
Before he could protest, the Vice Principal squealed with joy behind them,
“My ship—revived!”
……
Outside the teaching building, Leon and Roswiser sat on a bench.
Roswiser held a tangerine-flavored ice cream that Leon had just bought for her, gazing down at her shoes with a gentle smile.
“The Vice Principal said that little incident wouldn’t affect our interview results, so… our ‘don’t d*e of embarrassment’ plan was indeed a success.”
Leon looked up at the parents and passersby.
Everyone was buzzing about that sudden, passionate kiss he had in the teaching building.
“Did it really succeed? Because I have a feeling more people are talking about us now.”
“Who do you think caused this little mess, hmmm?”
“Ugh…” Life is tough, Leon sighed.
The Queen raised her hand and patted his shoulder, “It’s fine, you’re still in your twenties; being impulsive is normal. Wait until you reach my age, and you’ll be more composed.”
“By the time I reach your age, it won’t be composure—I’ll be laying flat,” Leon said, “like my ashes at the bottom.”
Roswiser nudged him lightly, “Hey, stop that.”
Leon chuckled helplessly, “Well, at least the interview results are spot on, so we don’t have to worry about another social d*ath at the entrance ceremony.”
Roswiser nodded, “Yeah, as long as our daughters perform normally, we’re good.”
The couple finally felt a weight lift off their shoulders—
But could they truly relax?
Meanwhile, in the young dragon testing area, a certain pink-haired dragon already discovered the next shocking hilarity.
