Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have Any More Children With You – Chapter 387

Chapter 91: Sweet Married Life

(3K)

As the evening rolled in, this “Dragon King Secret Meeting” wrapped up in a state of near perfection.

Thanks to Constantine’s little ruse, those dragon kings who were eager to claim the Primal Power began to disperse one by one.

In the conference room, only a few remained: the unfortunate couple and their elder sister, the Princess of Sea Dragons Claudia, alongside Thunder Dragon King Odin and Gold Sand Dragon King Morgan.

Odin and Morgan were still huddled together, whispering sweet nothings to each other.

Leon shot them a glance but didn’t approach for a chat. After all, just because everyone supported Odin’s proposal out of courtesy during the vote didn’t mean Leon was obligated to thank him afterward.

As he had thought earlier, at the political round table, trust was as rare as a dragon at a cat convention.

However, the lovely young woman by his side wasn’t too fussed about political shenanigans. Once most of the attendees had left, she stood up and sauntered over to Melkway and her two companions.

“Nice speech and ideas earlier, Leon.”

After pausing — likely to ease the awkwardness of not having seen each other in a while — the usually stern Claudia made a rare attempt at humor, “You truly take after your mother.”

‘Your mother’s son’ — a nod to Noia’s first play, “Like Love Sinks,” where Leon Casmod played Claudia’s son.

Leon grinned, thinking, “Wow, sister, you’ve got jokes!”

After some pleasantries, Claudia dived into serious talk,

“Helena mentioned the situation in the Extreme North Land recently. I really appreciate you both stepping in to help, and please pass my thanks to Noia — she’s a brave and clever kid.”

“Sure, we’ll tell Noia.”

Claudia didn’t bring up anything concerning the Primal Power, and the couple were equally tight-lipped. Their relationship with Claudia wasn’t exactly purely friendly; they were still feeling each other out.

Yet, even so, they had some fundamental trust going.

Once the thank-yous were exchanged, Claudia didn’t linger; she simply waved goodbye to Isar and waltzed out.

Isar eyed the lovely woman’s graceful exit and chuckled,

“Looks like Poseidon’s old buddy has some competition.”

Her gaze shifted back to her sister and brother-in-law.

The three of them engaged in a wide-eyed stare-down, each sizing the others up until Isar broke the silence,

“A special intelligence outpost… huh?”

Leon felt a bit uncomfortable but plastered on a smile, “Ah… yeah, sis.”

“Interesting! How did you manage that? I want one too!”

As long as you marry a human captive, you too could have such a cool intelligence outpost!

“Classified, classified, hee-hee,” Leon tried to deflect with humor.

In the past, Isar would have definitely pressed further. Even if she couldn’t pry it out of him, she’d have tried to suss out her mysterious brother-in-law.

But now?

No need.

“Alright, if it’s classified, I won’t dig anymore.”

With that pressure lifted off her brother-in-law, Isar turned to her sister,

“Little Luo, how have you been lately?”

“Sis, I’ve been—”

“Yeah, looks like you’re doing well. This married life—”

Isar leaned back in her chair, fiddling with her exquisite red nails and adopting a nonchalant tone, “It’s just so sweet. A few days ago, if I hadn’t wanted to ask about Grandma, you probably wouldn’t have had time to write to your big sis, right?”

Roswiser grimaced and forced a laugh, “What are you talking about, sis? We’re family! I’ve just been a bit busy and forgot to write!”

“Busy with what?”

“Busy—”

“Busy with post-marital sweetness, right?”

“……”

After over two hundred years, Roswiser had never gotten the upper hand with her sister.

And now, her sham marriage with Leon had become one of Isar’s favorite tools for banter.

Ugh.

No matter how you sliced it — it was all Leon’s fault!

Thinking this, the queen couldn’t help but glare furiously at the Dog Man next to her.

Leon: ?

What did I do? Why are you glaring at me?

Or have you evolved to a point where you can just glare directly at me to start court proceedings?

Truly a T0-level race that can give birth, indeed.

“Alright, enough teasing you two.”

Isar exhaled, “But I still don’t have any news about Grandma.”

Roswiser frowned slightly, “Still don’t know where Grandma went after all this time?”

Isar shrugged helplessly, “You know how the old lady loves wandering around; she’s off gallivanting somewhere with her old pals.”

Gallivanting with her old pals, though, seemed a bit far-fetched.

But Isar genuinely didn’t know where the old woman had skipped off to.

Last time their grandmother Veronica had come looking for them, she had tentatively probed into Leon’s background with her, and while they had some leads, Grandma had advised Isar to drop the investigation.

And Isar had obediently complied.

The night before they parted, Grandma had given Isar a ring containing a Primal Crystal, hoping that Isar could learn to control the Primal Power.

But Grandma insisted on keeping that a secret from Little Luo.

Although Isar wouldn’t pursue her brother-in-law’s background any further, it was wise to remain cautious and keep certain things under wraps.

“I’ll let you know the moment I hear anything,” Isar promised.

“Okay.”

Roswiser was eager to see Grandma because she and Leon had a mountain of questions they wanted to ask.

Questions about the Extreme North Land and the Primal Ruins.

While they were no archaeologists and the truth of history didn’t mean much to them, if it involved the Empire and the Dragon Race’s schemes, that was a different kettle of fish.

God knows what other shady business the Empire might be up to.

“It’s getting late, I should head back. As for you two…”

As Isar spoke, she slowly got up, her gaze shifting between her sister and brother-in-law, “You planning on having a date here tonight and heading back tomorrow?”

“Uh… no, not really.”

“Why not? The atmosphere at home and in a hotel is completely different, you know~”

Roswiser’s cheeks flushed as she quickly glanced over at the still-unmoved Old Thunder and Morgan; thankfully, they hadn’t overheard,

“Sis, what are you saying? Hotel? What hotel?”

Isar laughed and waved her off, “Come on, remember to write to me!”

“Got it, sis.”

The red-haired beauty clacked her heels and strolled out of the conference room.

Leon stood up, “Shall we head out as well?”

“Yep, sure.”

However, before the couple could take a step, they heard someone behind them shout,

“Please, stop!”

The pair turned to find Odin and Morgan approaching them.

The two dragon kings stood up and made their way over.

Leon stole a glance at Morgan but quickly returned his gaze to Odin, the enigmatic Thunder Dragon King. Just moments ago, they had exchanged a brief glance during the meeting that felt entirely different from all the other dragon kings Leon had faced.

Most dragon kings, or dragons in general, even the best disguised ones, tended to let out glimmers of bloodthirst in their gazes.

But not Odin.

His deep blue dragon eyes were ancient, steady, and introverted, yet radiated undeniable authority.

As Odin stepped up to Leon, they locked eyes at a close distance.

Leon never backed down in aura before a dragon, even if it was the top-tier dragon king Odin.

After a moment of comparative staring, Odin was the first to speak,

“Do you know why I supported your proposal in the meeting?”

Leon remained silent.

And Odin clearly didn’t intend to tease him.

“Because this meeting is just a smokescreen; that old coot Arlais is trying to seize the Primal Power from Constantine under the cover of this meeting.”

“They’ve done this before.”

Upon hearing this, Leon wasn’t particularly surprised.

He cast a glance at Roswiser, who remained unfazed and calm.

In fact, they had chatted about this on their way here.

Guess what they discussed turned out to be true.

Echoing Roswiser’s earlier sentiment, all power serves politics.

“But I understand the uniqueness of the Primal Power because I’ve also been involved in the Extreme North Land exploration project.”

Pausing, Odin looked at Roswiser, “I consider myself a friend of Veronica.”

Roswiser nodded slightly but didn’t elaborate further.

“Additionally, there’s another reason that didn’t directly compel me to support you but influenced my decision nonetheless.”

“What reason is that?”

“Just like Claudia, you saved my daughter Yuna promptly in the ruins. For that, I’m deeply grateful.”

With that, Odin slightly nodded, as if extending a rather solemn gesture of thanks.

“Consider it a personal favor owed, Mr. Casmod. Until we meet again.”

With that, Odin strode towards the exit.

Morgan waved his hand, “Odin’s old man thanked you for me, so I won’t bother. Bye-bye!”

The two dragon kings left the conference room one after the other.

After they’d walked far enough, Leon scratched his nose, “Thunder Dragon King owes me a personal favor now…”

“Much more than just a favor, oh my sweet Leon.”

Roswiser said, “Basically, any favors you have within his ability, he will try to meet them as best as he can.”

“But is it a one-time deal?”

“Of course! You think you can live off the old dragon king’s favors forever? You’re so naïve—hey, what are you doing?”

Before she could finish, the Dog Man pulled her into his arms.

“Living off the old dragon king forever doesn’t count as skill, but living off you for a lifetime, my wife, now that’s something.”

“Ugh, so gross! Let go of me.” Roswiser made a token effort to twist her delicate waist.

“Alright, but you must promise me one thing.”

“What?”

“Go on a date with me.”
