Chapter 93: Gentleman’s Behavior
After the couple registered, they headed upstairs, looking for their room according to the key card number.
Before pushing open the door, both of them felt a bit tense.
Even though they had used their impeccable and mind-blowing acting skills to convince each other that they were simply ‘forced’ to stay in the same room…
They never actually discussed what kind of room the front desk girl would assign to them.
So… was it a S&M-themed suite filled with props, or a cozy romantic rose water bed room?
Click—
The key slid into the lock and turned gently.
The door opened.
With a mix of nervousness and anticipation, the couple stepped inside.
What met their eyes was a tidy room, featuring a soft, round bed draped with sheer curtains, and a lovely aroma of lavender wafting throughout.
No strange props, no bathtubs overflowing with rose petals.
Seeing this scene, Leon and Roswiser both silently let out a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness! It looks like tonight will be a peaceful night.
After all, they had been a married couple for five years; all those flashy things just weren’t suitable for them—
Regularly engaging in “captivity,” “teacher-student” dynamics, or “bunny waitress” roleplays as an old married couple, they thought.
But after relaxing a bit, a tiny wave of disappointment crept into their hearts.
Monthly subscription groups 669436135 yearned for the forbidden and thrilling… truly an instinct buried deep in the bones of every creature.
Leon walked into the room and drew the curtains, shutting out the moonlight and city noise.
The room was lit with warm orange light—soft and cozy.
Roswiser opened the translucent glass door to the bathroom and peeked inside.
After confirming the environment was decent, she glanced sideways and asked, “You want to shower first, or shall I?”
“Ladies first.”
The queen raised an eyebrow, “Oh, starting to be a gentleman, are we?”
General Leon proudly rubbed his nose, patted his chest, and gave a thumbs-up, “Of course! Didn’t you see how I wasn’t trying to take advantage of you at the front desk? That’s why I wanted to book two rooms. But alas, there was only one left. Sigh~”
Roswiser snickered to herself, thinking that this dog man was really putting on an act.
If it weren’t for this queen being exceptionally clever and understanding, he’d never dream of sharing a hotel room with her.
“Yeah, such a pity that the hotel didn’t let you show off your gentlemanly spirit,” she feigned a tone of regret.
Leon smirked to himself, thinking that this little mother dragon was easy to deceive; a small ploy was all it took to capture her heart.
The couple continued their little act, neither revealing a hint of their true thoughts.
After chatting for a while, Roswiser finally released the bathroom door handle.
“You go ahead; I need some time to sum up today’s meeting.”
Leon nodded, “Alright.”
With that, he headed into the bathroom.
Once the sounds of water filled the air, Roswiser went to the wardrobe and picked out a white bathrobe.
She felt much lighter after shedding her long dress and high heels.
Next, she sat down at the wooden table, found some paper and a pen, and slowly recalled the discussions from earlier in the secretive meetings.
This was a habit of hers as a workaholic; no matter how sharp her mind was, it was always better to write things down.
As the saying goes, a poor memory beats a sharp pen.
About half an hour later, the sound of water in the bathroom ceased.
Leon emerged, a towel wrapped around his waist, revealing his chest—a classic V-shaped physique, water droplets gliding down his sculpted muscles.
Roswiser cast a fleeting glance before turning her eyes away;
Then she glanced again, then looked away;
Then yet again, glance, look away;
Repeat.
“Just look if you want to, hiding like a thief!” Leon towel-dried his hair, proudly showing off his physique before the queen.
Roswiser’s cheeks turned pink, “Who wants to look? I’ve seen it countless times, I have no interest!”
Saying this, she hurriedly stood up, lowering her head, her eyes cast down, scurrying towards the bathroom.
Leon chuckled softly, deciding against teasing her further.
He walked over to the bedside and noticed a few magazines and books on the shelf.
Flipping through them casually, he found nothing but gossip and romance novels—definitely nothing essential to read.
After all, there couldn’t be any gossip more shocking than the legendary love affair of Leon and Roswiser.
As for romance novels…
Leon tried reading one for a bit.
After he finished, he clicked his tongue and compared their daily life to the stories, concluding, “This isn’t even sweet!”
Not even half as sweet as those clueless couples!
He placed the book back and noticed something on the bedside table.
Aside from a few bottles of complimentary hotel drinks, there were some… intriguing little gadgets.
Leon picked up a brown bottle, shook it slightly, and could tell there was some liquid inside.
He flipped it over to read the product description on the back.
“Smooth Enjoyment, non-greasy, the latest product from Duron, super smooth.”
Curiously, he read further and found a note at the bottom,
“Caution: Can be ingested.”
“Ingested?”
“Wait!—”
Suddenly he realized what it was for.
Though they had been married for five years, their frequency of getting hotel rooms was still low, and Leon had no idea such playful items were standard in every hotel room.
Just then, Roswiser finished her shower.
With the glass door pushed open, one slender leg stepped out, her delicate foot barely touching the carpet. Her skin was so smooth that water droplets couldn’t cling to it, cascading down her well-proportioned calf.
Her silver hair clung to her cheeks and shoulders, and even without makeup, the queen was stunning.
Moisture clung to her long eyelashes, blinking rhythmically in an adorably cute manner.
Her bathrobe hung a bit loosely, revealing her swan-like neck, collarbones, and an alluring groove.
In that groove, lay the silver dragon pattern.
Leon took a fleeting glance before turning his eyes away;
Then glanced again, then looked away;
Then yet again, glance, look away;
Repeat.
“Just look if you want to, don’t act like a sneak.”
He echoed Roswiser’s earlier remark from half an hour ago.
Leon shrugged, “Sneak? I’m just admiring, okay?”
Roswiser raised an alluring eyebrow and casually sat beside him, “So you’ve been secretly checking out someone else’s face, using your gentlemanly excuse of admiring?”
“Let’s get it right: looking at my own wife doesn’t count as sneaky.”
“I’ll correct you; it’s a fake wife.”
“A fake wife is still a wife.”
“Hmph—”
Roswiser chuckled lightly, “Say whatever you want.”
After that, she noticed what Leon was holding and asked, “What’s that?”
“Uh… a couple’s warming gadget?”
“Couple? Warming?”
Roswiser took it, read the product description, and she quickly realized its purpose.
“Yup, it really is a warming gadget…”
Though they did have many ways to share responsibilities, they rarely used little gadgets like this.
“And there’s more.”
The couple seemed to have opened the door to a new world, seriously examining other couple gadgets.
“Difficult to breathe, like being coiled by a python—Duron flexible neck ring, give your partner a whole new thrilling experience.”
“This one—Ah! Marvelous, straight to paradise—Duron brand dragon mint, an extraordinary sensation.”
Leon blinked, “Dragon mint? What’s that?”
“Know what catnip is?”
“Yeah! Cats smell it and start rubbing everywhere.”
“Right, dragon mint has a similar effect on relaxed dragons.”
Hearing this, Leon felt a naughty thought stirring inside him; he shook the dragon mint in his hand, “How about we try—”
“Nope.” Roswiser decisively made an “X”.
She had no intention of turning into a soft little creature like a cat in front of Leon.
She was a queen! A noble dragon!
“Let’s look at something else.” Roswiser gestured toward other products.
Leon picked up another one.
“Super exciting, infinitely potent—Duron power endurance set, comparable to… Dragon Strength?!”
“This is great!”
Roswiser’s eyes lit up, “Leon, your body has really seen better days; this is perfect for you!”
Leon rolled his eyes at her, “What do you mean better days? We’ve been battling until dawn every time! And besides—”
“And besides?”
“I can train for Dragon Strength myself, so why do I need this?”
With that, he put the power endurance set back.
Roswiser chuckled softly.
Speaking of “battling until dawn,” she looked at the clock on the wall. It was nearing midnight.
“Let’s sleep; it’s been a long day of meetings, I’m exhausted.”
“Okay.”
As they both moved, they simultaneously glanced at the sofa opposite the bed.
The sofa was long enough for an adult to lie down on.
Logically speaking, the “gentlemanly” General Leon should have suggested sleeping on the sofa first;
And the “not into men” queen should have directed her captive to sleep on the sofa.
But!
In the next moment, the couple completely ignored that sofa in perfect synchrony!
What sofa?
Didn’t see one.
Wasn’t there only this one bed in the room?
Ah, what a pity; they could only squeeze onto the same bed with their fake wife/husband.
Once in bed, snuggling under the covers, Leon and Roswiser were back-to-back.
There was a huge gap between them, almost half of the bed’s space.
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Ten minutes later.
“Leon.”
“What?”
“My waist itches a bit, can you help… take a look?”
Sharing responsibilities didn’t actually require any reasons;
But some clueless couples enjoyed the process of finding excuses.
XX
This isn’t a cliffhanger; it’s just that if I wrote anything too steamy, it might attract the attention of Shenhe, and the whole chapter could get scrapped. So I’m dedicating this chapter to sharing responsibilities separately; if it gets axed, it won’t affect other content, and the scrapped chapters can still be viewed in the group.
I’m such a genius. 🙂
