Chapter 62: An Indescribable Sense of Crisis
The sky was getting darker and darker.
The atmosphere in the Night Watcher Headquarters remained extremely serious, showing no signs of recovering from battle mode.
The leader hadn’t told the other Watchers about the possibility that the Dream Narrator had left.
Although he believed in Night Lan, he didn’t fully trust the Dream Narrator.
There was a chance the Dream Narrator was lying to Night Lan; who knows what really happened?
Thus, they had to confirm things thoroughly before they could fully relax or let their guard down. Otherwise, the leader couldn’t rest easy.
As time passed, the leader allowed a few Star Holders and some ordinary folks to enter sleep, hoping to see if they could still enter the dream realm.
Sadly, it was all for naught.
Next, the leader ordered a high-level detection on [Zhi Xing].
This detection could sense star eclipse fluctuations within a certain range, even if the star eclipse wasn’t using its powers. It could tell if there were any star eclipses still active in the capital.
However, after prolonged checking, there were no results.
Now it seemed like the Dream Narrator had truly left the capital.
The leader mulled over this thought.
He had a crowd of Sunlight Night Watchers around him, waiting for his next words.
“It looks like the Dream Narrator might have really left,” the leader concluded finally.
One of the Sunlight Night Watchers asked, “Is this really true?”
“All I can say is that it’s highly likely. That Dream Narrator used to make people fall into dreams just to indulge themselves. If they’ve already had their fill, we don’t need to worry about their plots. Most star eclipses don’t bother with such nonsense, and moreover…”
The leader paused, making the other Sunlight Night Watchers curious about what he would say next.
“Moreover, based on the latest intel I received, the Dream Narrator is a Supernova-level star eclipse. They also verbally promised to leave the capital. So, that’s probably what’s going on.”
Upon hearing that, the group of Sunlight Night Watchers couldn’t help looking surprised.
Sure, the fact that the Dream Narrator is Supernova level was a bit unexpected, but his verbal promise to leave the capital came as a real shocker.
And here the leader clearly hadn’t been dreaming while they were doing the checks, and yet, how did the Dream Narrator know? Could they be prophesying?
The Sunlight Night Watchers could only assume it was some secret they’d have to keep buried.
Maybe this secret shouldn’t be shared with everyone.
Before anyone could process this, the leader continued, “Alright, let’s deal with it temporarily. For safety’s sake, we’ll continue staying alert for now. We’ll also check weekly if the Dream Narrator has reappeared. If there are no changes within a week, we’ll announce that all is well.”
“Yes sir,” they replied.
Then the Sunlight Night Watchers dispersed.
The leader returned to his office, ready to tackle the backlog of tasks.
There’s still plenty to do before I can take a breather.
Cut to the Rising Sun Theater.
Nights Star was explaining everything about the dream realm to the troupe members.
He wouldn’t keep secrets from his team regarding the Dream Narrator, because they’re trusty allies!
So, he revealed all about the Origin of the Stars.
He hopes the Dream Narrator won’t get angry.
After listening, Mo Rabbit fell into deep thoughts. The information overload was overwhelming.
Without time to sort it out, chaos would reign supreme.
During this reflection, Mo Rabbit found numerous issues that required sorting as well.
“Creator of stars?” Mo Rabbit muttered, planning to divine something.
But just as he started, a sudden inexplicable sense of dread washed over him, prompting him to hastily stop.
Yeah, divining might be riskier than reading a loli’s mind.
Some joys are indeed too dangerous to touch.
The story was getting increasingly interesting.
Upon learning this, Mo Rabbit felt elated.
If Night Lan wanted to search for that missing creator, perhaps the journey ahead would be much more delightful—at least interesting.
Absolutely beyond mere amusement.
Mo Rabbit asked, “So, do you plan to find this unknown creator?”
Night Star tilted her head in confusion.
“Aren’t you worried? Sounds like a lot of trouble and danger.”
“But isn’t this about integrating star eclipses into society? Don’t you feel something along those lines?”
“Mmm, just a feeling, haven’t committed to doing it. Besides, why should I care about other star eclipses? I’m no saint. As long as my buddies are safe, the uncontrollable star eclipse pollution won’t happen!”
Another thing.
The Dream Narrator mentioned that seeking the creator might attract terrifying Supernovas, which Night Star absolutely wants to avoid!
Mo Rabbit couldn’t find an answer.
Okay, she underestimated Night Star’s apathy level.
If made a hero, Night Star would turn down the offer solemnly.
Lazy dogs don’t become heroes anyway.
Yet, Mo Rabbit felt it impossible to avoid these events.
Perhaps it all started when Night Lan got her Wish Machine.
With that thought, Mo Rabbit stood up, waving at the others.
“I think I’ll be heading off. You guys chat on.”
“Okay, see you later, Announcer ~”
Soon enough, Mo Rabbit vanished inside the theater.
The troupe leader then said, “Performer, I’m glad you’re safe. Get some rest for tomorrow’s show.”
The gentleman politely bowed to the group.
“May all the ladies have a pleasant evening.”
The Fraudster patted Nights Star’s head, leaving with troupe leader into the dark shadows of the theater.
They all departed.
Kong Yu Bai picked up Night Star, sitting her on her soft, pale thighs, gently rubbing her cheeks.
“So, my dear performer, what do you plan to do now?”
Face reddening from Kang Yu Bai’s proximity, Nigs Star replied, “Ugh…no specific plans. Just living day by day should work fine. Better to stay calm.”
Nights Lan’s a lollipop-loving, easy-going loli; striving for world peace isn’t her style.
“Also, another part of me will finally return to Yun Chang City. Lots of friends are waiting there, and I can hang out with them soon. Who knows, I may bring them to the theater someday.”
Lianhua blinked and asked, “It’s White Fish, right?”
Mmmm…”
Night Star nodded.
“There are other cute friends too, but I need to build some bonds first before bringing them!”
“We’re very excited! The troupe leader welcomes new audience members,” Kong Yu Bai smiled.
The end.
