Trapped in Paradise – Chapter 19

019. Weekend

The changes in his body were becoming increasingly obvious.

One morning, Ning Chu woke up to find his ceiling staring down at him, and clouds of worry had settled into his heart.

When he first crossed into this world, he thought he’d be the chosen one, with a little system magic to spice up his mundane life.

Then he realized he had no magic system, was stuck in a novel he wrote, and was destined to become a woman’s plaything.

Despite trying to resist, his body became increasingly feminine, and his stubbornness only accelerated that transformation.

But it was still better than being swept away by the plot… Even if he did end up a girl, finding a cute girl to be his wife in this chaotic world shouldn’t be too hard.

Ugh~ The book mentioned a couple of yuri lovers getting completely wiped out!

“Seriously, this is tough~”

Ning Chu sighed dramatically, only to be interrupted by Wen Yang’s sudden inquiry, “What are you sighing about now?”

He rolled over and propped his head up to look at Wen Yang, who was sleeping head-to-head with him.

“Nothing, I just had a nightmare,” he said, suddenly noticing the faint dark circles under Wen Yang’s eyes, a slight flush on his face, and his energy all but drained. “Did you not sleep well last night?”

“Uh…”

Wen Yang’s nose twitched slightly, and he shifted down the bed, putting some space between them, his feet dangling off the edge.

Last night at the bar, he had been teased by a girl, and while his heart raced, reason pulled him back to the dorm. But once in bed, he found the aura coming off Ning Chu was enough to keep him on high alert all night long.

He could still smell that light, elegant scent reminiscent of a girl. Forget the girls at the bar—Ning Chu’s scent was even more tempting and sweet.

“Then hurry up and catch up on your sleep,” Ning Chu yawned and buried his face in his pillow. But after a while, he couldn’t help but roll onto his side.

Maybe it was because of puberty, but his chest felt uncomfortably tight, making it impossible to sleep on his stomach.

“Ning Chu, how about we just switch directions for sleeping from now on?” Wen Yang suddenly proposed.

“Switch directions? Why?” Ning Chu frowned. “Was I snoring last night?”

“Not really.”

Ning Chu grunted an acknowledgment, yawning again as he groggily got up, crawling slowly toward the end of the bed like a sloth.

Wen Yang instinctively glanced over, but his eyes lingered longer than expected.

That pert little b*tt of Ning Chu’s was sticking up, stretching his sleep shorts tight enough that the outline of his small derrière was clearly visible—nothing too big, but it swayed enticingly with his movements.

Once Ning Chu got into a better position and lay down again, Wen Yang snapped his gaze away as if electrocuted.

He began to question his own mental state.

Could it be that since he’d never touched a girl, he was starting to have thoughts about guys?

Ning Chu was blissfully unaware of Wen Yang’s turmoil as he curled up under the blankets, lost in thoughts about future issues.

Having triggered the plot twice already—once with Ling Ling and once with the bar twins—he had managed to maintain Wen Yang’s virginity by sheer luck. But he realized that this passive defense was not a solution.

After all, Wen Yang had his own ideas.

So, how do I solve the problem of the male lead always getting seduced?

“Wen Yang…”

He hesitated and spoke up, “Why don’t you just not date girls?”

“Huh?”

“You’re the only one in our dorm that girls like. The rest of us singles need to stick together!” He tried to play it off as a joke.

But Wen Yang caught the trace of doubt and seriousness in Ning Chu’s tone; it seemed Ning Chu really didn’t want him to date, and this wasn’t just a playful remark.

“But… who goes through college without dating?”

“College is for studying~”

Ning Chu corrected him in a dreamy tone, already running different scenarios through his mind.

Since Wen Yang wasn’t interested in skipping the dating game, how about finding him a fierce and possessive girlfriend?

But those vixen types wouldn’t stop tempting Wen Yang just because he had a girlfriend—if anything, they’d probably relish the chance to train him in the art of charm.

This was tough…

“Up so early?” Wang Jie chimed in, having been roused from his slumber by their conversation. He turned to face them, puzzled. “Ning Chu, why don’t you like Wen Yang dating?”

“Huh? I don’t!”

“You wouldn’t happen to be hoping for a chance to make him jealous now, would you?”

Those words pierced Ning Chu’s heart like a kn*fe, and his eyes widened as he broke his defenses: “I don’t!!!”

Like him?

He’d rather see him dead!

The sharpness of his voice echoed through the dorm, causing Wang Jie to retreat into his blanket like a turtle, meekly mumbling, “I was just kidding.”

“Who’s making that kind of joke with you!”

Ning Chu cursed under his breath, his mood for catching up on sleep utterly crushed.

Even though Wang Jie had retreated, he was still fuming, his chest heaving with heavy breaths.

Making a joke about him liking guys? About liking someone like Wen Yang? That struck the most intolerable nerve.

He’d even take being called pretty over such remarks.

But turning to glance at Wen Yang, who looked utterly confused, Ning Chu exhaled slowly and forced a grin.

“First time seeing you this worked up,” Wen Yang remarked, rubbing his ears.

God knows how a guy could make such a piercing sound—nearly broke his eardrums, leaving his head buzzing.

Ning Chu’s smile felt a bit stiff. He didn’t want to show weakness in front of Wen Yang, for fear of ruining their friendship and never being able to dissuade him from dating.

“Well, I’m off to brush my teeth,” he said, scrambling down the ladder and rushing to the balcony with his toiletries in hand.

Freshly awakened, his hair was a mess like a bird’s nest. He casually ran his hands through it and splashed his face with some water.

This weekend, he had to figure out how to keep Wen Yang by his side!

Maybe find a fun game? Or drag him out for some adventures?

Then again, his thoughts drifted back to Zhang Shaoqing at home.

Wonder what that guy would be like after being home alone—what if he turned into a villain? Everyone’s lives would become unbearable…

“A bunch of troublesome matters!” Ning Chu mumbled to himself, peeking back into the dorm and calling out, “Wen Yang! Wang Jie! Let’s go out to play later?”

Wang Jie, perhaps trying to make up for his earlier blunder, jumped at the chance: “Sure!”

“Where to? I already made plans this morning…” Wen Yang was less enthusiastic.

“Wang Jie’s going! What’s so fun about being with girls?”

Wang Jie nodded vigorously: “Exactly!”

With Wang Jie backing him up, Wen Yang seemed even more unsure.

“Uh… but where should we go?”

“I found something online—a half-hour taxi ride from school to an amusement park!”

“Alright! Who’s paying?”

Ning Chu froze for a moment, instinctively turning to look at Zhang Shaoqing’s bed.

Suddenly feeling nostalgic for that villain…
