084. Another Round of Bellyache
“My belly hurts…”
It was Saturday, and the loudest troublemaker in the dorm had already left school.
Ning Chu had the rare chance to sleep in until noon, but as soon as he opened his eyes, he felt a peculiar pain in his lower abdomen.
Nothing plot-related had triggered it, right?
Definitely not. He was sure of that because over the past week, after dealing with Shan Shan, Wen Yang hadn’t been near any other girls.
This was Little Emperor Wen; without female interaction with the male lead, there’s basically no plot at all.
Having slept too long, his head felt a bit fuzzy, and the abdominal pain was intense, radiating around his lower belly, waist, and even his posterior, leaving him feeling a bit numb. This made him frown and feel unsettled.
“Why am I suddenly having a bellyache? Did I leave the air conditioning too low and get diarrhea?”
Ning Chu mumbled in confusion, stretching as he sat up, yawning repeatedly while running a hand through his messy hair. He opened his tear-filled eyes and scanned the dorm room.
The bed directly across from him was a chaotic mess, and Wang Jie was hunched down, stretching his neck as he played games, almost pressing his face into the computer screen. Zhang Shaoqing’s desk was unusually tidy; this guy had actually tidied up before leaving.
“Wang Jie, where’s Wen Yang?” Ning Chu rubbed his tired eyes with one hand and his aching belly with the other.
“He’s gone out?”
“Gone out?!”
Suddenly, he was wide awake, and he forgot all about the ongoing abdominal pain as he quickly flipped over and scrambled down the ladder from the lofted bed.
He rushed to the balcony, took a peek at the bathroom, then hurriedly slipped on his slippers and prepared to head out.
“Where did he go?”
“Why don’t you give him a call?”
Ning Chu’s hand was already on the doorknob when he realized he could indeed make a call.
That Wen Yang! Sneaking off without a word!
Last time he had secretly gone to a bar for a date with the twins, and now what?!
With a stern face, Ning Chu dialed Wen Yang’s number while pulling some casual clothes and a Band-Aid out of his closet, and hastened toward the bathroom.
“Beep… beep…”
After waiting a minute, the call didn’t connect.
He changed clothes more quickly now, his mind racing with thoughts about where Wen Yang could be.
Wen Yang’s interaction with classmates had been pretty much wrecked by him, so this time maybe he was with someone off-campus, from another class or division, or even another college…
The possible places were too many to track!
“Hello?”
Finally, the call connected.
“Where have you been!” Ning Chu demanded anxiously, “Why did you go out alone!”
“Ah?” Wen Yang sounded a bit confused; he rarely heard Ning Chu quite this frantic, which knocked him down a peg in confidence, “I’m at the library… reading…”
He quickly added, “There are no girls around, don’t worry.”
“I’m coming over!”
Just as Ning Chu finished pulling on his outfit, he raked a hand through his hair and dashed out of the dorm in his slippers.
“Make sure to help me with… why are you running so fast?” Wang Jie glanced back, only to see the door slam shut, and Ning Chu vanished. Puzzled, he muttered to himself, “What’s the hurry?”
As he sprinted away from the dorm building, Ning Chu’s urgent pace gradually slowed. His hand instinctively pressed against his belly.
After that mad dash, his belly pain intensified, making his lips turn pale. No matter how anxious he felt, his legs just wouldn’t carry him any faster.
“Should be fine, right?”
This past week, Ning Chu’s strategy had been to tightly control Wen Yang, forbidding any interaction with girls. Such a high-pressure approach could easily make Wen Yang feel repelled, but that was what he wanted.
But for Wen Yang to sneak off for some illicit rendezvous was completely beyond his plans!
“All that for nothing!”
What if Wen Yang triggered some plot at the library…
Ning Chu calculated the little bean’s status, thinking that destroying the plot a second or third time might actually turn him into a girl for good.
“Annoying!”
The pain in his belly combined with his current situation made him feel fed up. He turned and kicked a nearby electrical pole, only to wince in pain, his face turning even whiter.
Now he was even angrier!
He pulled out his phone, ready to give Wen Yang another call, when his gaze fell on the phone’s notes app.
“…”
Suddenly, it hit him! Last month around the same time, he had also experienced a bellyache, and it lasted for several days.
Ning Chu stared blankly as he opened the notes app and scanned the entries.
“September 16, belly pain.”
That’s a relief; it’s still several days away from the 16th!
Reassuring himself, he started to feel uneasy again and opened a browser to search for “menstrual cycle,” only for his expression to darken quickly.
According to online sources, Aunt Flo’s cycle is not the neat one-month thing most clueless guys think; it varies by person. Some might get it every twenty days or so, while others every thirty…
Plus, it’s perfectly normal for Aunt Flo to arrive a few days early or late.
“No way?”
Ning Chu pressed on his belly, pushing it down a bit, his brows slipping downward, biting his lip as he mentally retraced the signs of femininity he’d experienced since crossing over.
In fact, even before any plot had begun, there had been hints of femininity in his body.
Like that always noticeable bulge, his petite frame, and that high-pitched voice…
“So from the start, I’ve been a girl?”
He had mistakenly thought it was related to something plot-related approaching, so he assumed he’d become even more feminine just by existing… turns out that was right, just the reason was wrong.
“No wonder my p*nis is always so limp…”
So, it was just for show!
He had all the female parts inside him long ago; otherwise, Aunt Flo wouldn’t be dropping by!
“It’s too early to jump to conclusions; if it still hurts in a couple of days, then maybe I’ll know for sure.” He comforted himself, “I must have just caught a chill or something.”
“Ning Chu!”
Ning Chu looked up to see Wen Yang approaching from the direction of the teaching building.
As soon as Wen Yang got closer, he noticed Ning Chu’s anxious demeanor and quickly defended himself, “I called you this morning, but you were sleeping too soundly to hear me.”
“I was just reading! I barely talked to the female librarian while returning books.”
He anxiously scanned Ning Chu’s expression, “What’s wrong?”
“My belly hurts a bit.”
“Again?!”
Wen Yang froze for a moment, then quickly came around, prodding, “Wasn’t it around this time last month that you were also having a bellyache?”
“Yeah, what about it?”
This was critical evidence that Ning Chu was a girl!
Wen Yang’s eyes lit up; as long as Ning Chu was still in pain over the next couple of days, if he could find Ning Chu’s sanitary napkin…
He could rock-solid confirm that Ning Chu was indeed a girl, and finding himself feeling some normal physiological reactions toward a girl? Totally normal!
“How about we go grab lunch at the cafeteria?”
“Sure, I guess.” Ning Chu sighed weakly, casting a confused glance at Wen Yang’s seemingly cheerful demeanor, “Why do you seem so happy?”
“Me? No way!”
