01. I’m Super! A Pervert!
If it was daytime and I was alone…
“Wen Yang, I’m going to buy a bottle of cola.”
After class, when the four of them reached the entrance of the dormitory, Ning Chu suddenly stopped in her tracks and greeted Wen Yang.
Wen Yang was caught off guard, turned back, and instinctively wanted to follow her.
“You guys go up first.”
But Ning Chu declined his good intentions.
“Alright then.”
Watching her roommates enter the dormitory and vanish from sight, Ning Chu’s heart began to race. She took a deep breath, turned around, and glanced at the convenience store about a hundred meters away.
But that little distance…
She swallowed hard, her body tensed involuntarily, her alertness on high alert, her gaze darting around for potential sources of danger.
It’s broad daylight; nothing should happen, right?
It was post-class, and a mass of panicked guys poured past her, rushing back to their dorms. Keeping her head down and walking against the tide, her calves were quivering with tension.
Even though those plot characters are absurd—either perverts or just lost in a daydream upon seeing Wen Yang—most of these guys are just regular folk.
Even in the world of Little Emperor Wen, the proportion of perverts might be higher, but surely I won’t run into one just buying a bottle of cola?!
Ning Chu reassured herself, quickening her pace, but suddenly her shoulder was jostled by someone, throwing her off balance and landing her squarely on the ground.
She couldn’t afford to feel the pain; nervously, she shot her head up to see a sunny little boy student looking all apologetic and reaching out for her.
But she didn’t accept his gesture of goodwill, quickly getting up and hastily heading toward the convenience store again.
Her heart was racing like crazy, making her chest feel heavy.
Sweat had already formed on her palms and forehead, as if every corner had eyes lurking to pounce on her the moment she dropped her guard.
Ning Chu grit her teeth, fists clenched, her steps hurried as she finally made it to the entrance of the convenience store.
Phew! It’s all good; even though she was flustered, nothing terrible had happened.
Her breathing was a bit ragged, and a suspicious glance back revealed no one paying her any mind. Finally, she jogged to the fridge, grabbing a bottle of icy cola and an ice cream.
All went smoothly!
It really was just her scaring herself.
That earlier incident at the amusement park was just a low-probability event, leading her to think that leaving the main character’s protection would land her in a series of embarrassing situations!
Even though she was still uneasy, the initial panic had faded. Ning Chu stepped into the store, placed the cola and ice cream on the counter, and asked the uncle inside, “How much?”
The uncle glanced up, “Twenty-five.”
“???”
Ning Chu was stunned, staring blankly at the two items on the counter.
The uncle casually explained, “Little girl…”
Little girl?
Ning Chu narrowed her eyes, about to correct the uncle’s choice of word when she heard the rest of his sentence, “The ice cream is twenty-two.”
What the actual heck?! So expensive?!
She’d never bought ice cream that cost more than five bucks in her entire life! Scared, she quickly turned around and placed the ice cream back.
Approaching the counter again, she was left with only the cola, scanning to pay.
The tension in Ning Chu’s heart had lessened significantly. This world of Little Emperor Wen isn’t as terrifying as she imagined! As long as she doesn’t overthink it and isn’t paranoid, going out alone can actually be quite relaxing.
In fact, she had wandered around the garden of the dormitory area earlier without incident, though she did stumble upon a couple getting cozy, but there hadn’t been any real danger.
With that, maybe she could plan an escape…
Ning Chu pondered as she leisurely made her way back to the dormitory, but once again, her shoulder met with a bump.
This time, she steadied herself, looked up, and her expression froze.
You again!
It was the very same guy who had knocked her over earlier!
“What a coincidence! I’m so sorry…”
This is NOT a coincidence!
The student had an apologetic look, but she suddenly felt a chill run down her spine—cold sweat broke out as if she had seen a ghost, and she turned on her heel and sprinted away.
Her short little legs moved faster than they ever had when chased by a big dog back in the day!
This is way scarier than that dog!
The student stood there dumbfounded as Ning Chu zoomed into the dormitory, his expression a mix of confusion and shock. He rubbed his face, muttering, “Do I really look that scary? I wanted to say we’re quite destined…”
“Why did that girl enter the boys’ dormitory?”
…
“Bang!”
The door burst open, startling Wen Yang nearly out of his skin. He turned to see Ning Chu, drenched in sweat, leaning against the door, hunched over, gasping for breath.
“???”
Ning Chu looked up, scanning the familiar dormitory before her gaze landed on Wen Yang, Zhang Shaoqing, Wang Jie… instantly feeling at ease. Then her legs went jelly, and she slumped onto the floor.
That sprint over several hundred meters and up a few flights of stairs had worn her out; she couldn’t even lift a finger.
“What happened?”
Wen Yang looked at her with concern as she sat there like a defeated duck, panting heavily, hands on the ground, her watery eyes brimming with tears, looking utterly pitiful.
Ning Chu pointed shakily at the door, “Just now… just now a pervert was tailing me!”
“What?!”
“I can’t believe it! Who has a taste that strong?!”
“Ah?”
Wen Yang immediately opened the door and peeked down the hallway, but found nothing, saying, “There’s no one here!”
“He definitely saw me going back to the dorm, so he just stopped following,” Ning Chu said, her head hanging low as she sighed heavily, “Scared me to d*ath.”
“Could you elaborate?” Zhang Shaoqing teased, grinning, and added, “Look at you sitting like a duck! No wonder you might attract a pervert!”
“When I was going to the convenience store, he bumped into me, and then when I was coming back, he bumped into me again… he must have done it on purpose!”
Wen Yang was bewildered, “Are you being too sensitive?”
Well, I have to be sensitive! What if there really is a pervert following me?!
This is the world of Little Emperor Wen! If a pervert gets the better of me, it’s basically game over for me!
Now that I’m a girl, it’s even more dangerous!
Hearing footsteps in the hallway made Ning Chu shudder. She quickly crouched down, cautiously peeking around the wall to look outside the window.
It was a classmate living on the same floor, someone she vaguely recognized.
Zhang Shaoqing mumbled, “Are you suffering from paranoia? You’re pretty girly-looking, but no chest and no b*tt, who would even notice you?”
“Plus…”
Plus that guy’s thing is probably bigger than his, so who knows who’s doing what!
“It’s good if nothing happened.” Wen Yang felt especially sorry for Ning Chu in this cautious state. Though he thought it was an overreaction, he patted her shoulder and reassured her, “Next time something happens, just come find me. Better safe than sorry.”
“Yeah…” Just a few pats on the shoulder eased her tense nerves, and Ning Chu softly replied while feeling tired, “Did my takeout arrive?”
After all that running, she was starving.
“It’s on your desk.”

Just woke up, five chapters today~ that’s it!
Had a backlog of more than ten chapters before; if I drop ten chapters at launch, it’ll clear out all my backlog. So frustrating!
