21. The Spray!
Originally, Ning Chu had no idea how to face Wen Yang after being caught in a private chat with Lily.
But now, things had taken a turn for the better!
The overwhelming sense of shame had completely morphed into a fabulous mix of annoyance and embarrassment. When they met, she shot him a glare and rolled her eyes—after all, she couldn’t give Wen Yang any good looks!
On the flip side, Wen Yang was practically glowing with joy. What began as curiosity led to an unexpected hand-holding moment with Ning Chu.
Talk about a win-win!
For the whole of their tutoring session and even on the way back to school later that night, Wen Yang wore an ear-to-ear smile, while Ning Chu looked as if she’d just finished a marathon and lost her will to live.
At 7:30 PM, after a meal at the cafeteria, the duo pushed open the door to their dorm.
Inside, Wang Jie and Zhang Shaoqing were already back, heavily engrossed in a double game marathon, sweet nothings filling the air.
The dormitories on weekends were usually calm and peaceful, but Ning Chu found it oddly hard to adjust to this cheerful chaos.
Zhang Shaoqing, hearing the door creak open, turned his head to ask, “Where did you two sneak off to?”
“I went to tutor. Ning Chu was just bored and came along to play.”
“Oh really?” He looked at Wen Yang’s goofy grin. “Is that why you’re smiling like a perv?”
Wen Yang immediately straightened his face: “What’s wrong with being happy about earning money?”
Meanwhile, Ning Chu had already sidled up to Wang Jie, peering at the game screen, and whispered, “How’s it going with your girlfriend?”
“Ah? Pretty good.”
“No mishaps?”
“Mishaps? Why would there be any?”
Ning Chu sighed in relief. This weekend, her biggest worry was Wang Jie becoming the b*tt of the joke, but things seemed quite optimistic.
Clearly, her help in styling his outfits had paid off big time!
She mentally tallied that as a point for herself and happily made her way to her desk.
Her roommates were all back now, and she couldn’t risk messing with the plot by showing an untamed side in front of them!
The consequences of that could either be total social d*ath or being forced into awkward duo queues with her roommates…
Ning Chu felt that if such a dire situation ever arose, she might as well jump off the balcony for a reboot!
Even if the plot were triggered, it would have to be resolved in bed!
Or in some secret corner. If it came down to facing punishment from Wen Yang again, she absolutely could not handle being all jittery in front of the entire dormitory.
Sitting down at her computer, Ning Chu rested her chin on one hand and stared blankly at the screen.
Tonight, she’d have to study up on the new props during her shower…
She begrudgingly acknowledged this was the first step towards falling into the depths of depravity.
“Wen Yang! Ning Chu! Wang Jie! Come here!”
Zhang Shaoqing, finishing a game, suddenly called out, “I’ve got a big treasure to show you!”
The three exchanged glances before continuing with their activities.
“No! Listen to me! It’s really a treasure!”
“……”
Yawning, Ning Chu got up, ready to grab some clean clothes.
“Ning Chu! Ning Chu!”
Zhang Shaoqing waved at her enigmatically: “Come and take a look!”
“Don’t be ridiculous…”
“Really! I found it at my grandpa’s house! A true treasure!”
His words piqued a bit of Ning Chu’s curiosity, prompting her to turn back and glance at Zhang Shaoqing’s showing-off grin. Her brows furrowed.
What kind of nonsense was he up to?
“Come here.” Zhang Shaoqing hid his right hand behind his back and beckoned her with his left.
Something about him felt off!
Could it be that Zhang Shaoqing was tangled in some plot of his own?
But villain plots only kick in after they turn dark, so what could this newly “cleansed” Zhang Shaoqing possibly be up to?
Hesitantly, Ning Chu approached, only to be stunned as Zhang Shaoqing whipped out a small spray bottle and gave her face a spritz.
“!!!”
Holy smokes! Are you kidding me?
Before she could react, not even a scream escaped her lips, and Ning Chu felt her brain growing drowsy altogether. In the next moment, it was as if she were caught in a ghostly grip.
Her mind was clear, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t control her body!
This was the villain’s hypnosis plot!
In the story, the villain used that little spray bottle to wreak havoc on countless girls!
Her heart sank to the bottom. No amount of planning had prepared her for the fact that the now-reformed Zhang Shaoqing had actually targeted her.
“See? I told you it’s a big treasure!” Zhang Shaoqing smugly crossed his legs. “Now, shout ‘Daddy.’”
“Daddy.” Ning Chu stood there, dumbfounded, and blurted it out without a second thought.
Wen Yang spun around in shock, and Wang Jie looked equally baffled, clueless about what was happening.
“What’s wrong with Ning Chu?”
“She’s been hypnotized! Now you can do whatever you want with her, like…”
Zhang Shaoqing’s grin grew even shadier, causing Wen Yang to hesitate for a moment before striding over.
“Let’s have Ning Chu queue with us for some games!”
Wen Yang stopped beside Zhang Shaoqing, casually leaning against the wardrobe door.
“d*mn it! You’ve messed with me every day! Making me laugh while my teammates get snagged! Make her fight and she jungles! Make her push and she’s off solo! Want her to ward, and she’s just staring blankly! Winning a game? Forget it!”
“Ning Chu! Log in! During the game, just follow my orders!”
“……”
Ning Chu, dazed, walked over to the computer to fire up the game while Zhang Shaoqing called to the others: “Get online! What are you all staring at?”
“Isn’t this dangerous? Does she really do whatever you tell her?” Wen Yang stood next to Zhang Shaoqing, eyebrows knitted and face serious as he asked, “How do we wake her up?”
“She’ll be up in three to five minutes; it’s fine.”
Whether it was Zhang Shaoqing’s thoughts being too dirty or his mind being too innocent, his first thought obviously wasn’t to make Ning Chu play games.
Oh, Zhang Shaoqing didn’t know Ning Chu was a girl, so that’s that…
Wang Jie mumbled, “Isn’t this pretty dangerous? What if it fell into the hands of a pervert?”
“Do I look like a pervert?” Zhang Shaoqing pointed at his own face.
Glancing at the still-hypnotized Ning Chu, Wen Yang and Wang Jie both nodded.

As they argued, Ning Chu suddenly felt herself snapping out of the hazy state.
It was as if her soul had returned, regaining control over her body in an instant. Panic and dread surged through her as cold sweat broke out on her back.
If Zhang Shaoqing had just wanted to do something to her…
If this guy’s prank had crossed the line…
Ning Chu’s face turned pale with fright as she turned to Zhang Shaoqing, anxiety written all over her face, her shoulders shaking.
This situation… it wasn’t safe in the dorm anymore!
This time it was a prank, but what if Zhang Shaoqing wanted to pull something different next time?
She tried to get up to flee but accidentally knocked over a chair, immediately drawing everyone’s attention.
Seeing her teary-eyed and pale, clearly frightened expression, Wen Yang already had a hand on Zhang Shaoqing’s shoulder: “That’s too much.”
“Wait…”
“You’d better apologize.” Wang Jie chimed in, “This is really too much.”
Feeling a bit guilty seeing Ning Chu on the verge of tears, Zhang Shaoqing awkwardly smirked, unable to look everyone in the eye: “I was just joking… I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
He received no reply and noticed Ning Chu keeping a wary gaze fixed on the spray bottle in his hand.
“Do you want it? Then you can spray me too.” He playfully tossed the hypnosis spray over, “That way it’s even.”
Ning Chu froze up, clumsily catching the little spray bottle, utterly dumbfounded as she looked up.
Huh? How did the villain’s prop end up in my hands?
Could it be that I’m the villain?
