27. Social Anxiety
What on earth possessed Wen Yang to suddenly gift her something?
And it’s women’s clothing…
Ning Chu sighed deeply as she looked at the women’s outfit sprawled across her thighs.
Though she knew she’d never be able to avoid women’s clothing in the future—she had even tried a maid outfit once—she had always envisioned herself as a dashing tomboy rather than a soft girl in a short skirt.
“Here you go.” She shoved the outfit and accessories into Yan Xinya’s hands. “It’s yours now, no thanks necessary.”
“Call me when you want to wear it~” Yan Xinya grinned, clutching the outfit. “Aren’t you going to try it on? What if it doesn’t fit?”
“No need.”
Why can’t this Wolf Girl learn a thing or two from Lily? After all, isn’t she the vice class leader? Always making a fuss over nothing! Look at Lily, quietly reading a book over there—how adorable and introverted she is!
Ning Chu leaned back in her chair, feeling a bit bereft of hope, and glanced over at Wen Yang, who was jogging slowly on the track field.
The sports meet was just around the corner—some of the students who had signed up were undergoing impromptu training.
She thought about letting Wen Yang off easy during the sports meet, hoping he wouldn’t draw too much attention and end up becoming the heartthrob of the school.
The last thing she needed was a mob of female side characters flooding in, and in no time, she’d be fully transformed into a succubus.
“By the way, Xinya, didn’t you sign up for the 100-meter dash? Aren’t you going to practice?”
“I was just about to!”
Wolf Girl tossed her empty milk tea cup into the nearby trash can, allez! She tiptoed over to the track.
With one person less, the space on the bench felt significantly more open. Ning Chu yawned, but her gaze inadvertently drifted back to the women’s outfit on the bench.
She was a bit curious about what it would look like on her.
Should be pretty, right?
“Wanna try it on?”
She looked up nervously, meeting Lily’s light pink eyes, and quickly shook her head.
Lily tilted her head in confusion, sensing Ning Chu’s aversion toward the women’s clothing.
She paused for a moment, stealthily scooted her way closer to Ning Chu, and then lowered her head to pull out her phone.
Moments later, Ning Chu was stunned, staring down at her vibrating phone.
Opening the social media app, she found a message from Lily.
“We could just sit together and talk, right?” Ning Chu chuckled. “Is it really that bad?”
“……”
When Lily didn’t respond, she clicked on the message to read it.
“Have you picked out the toy you want to buy?”
“I think you could try something smaller first, like this one.”
Now it was Ning Chu’s turn to be rendered speechless.
She pursed her lips, casting a side-eye at Lily’s emotionless face before glancing back at the daring text.
What boldness!
“Just in case you can’t handle it, and it’s pretty discreet too, you can hide it under the bed.”
Lily was practically handing out experience tips!
Though Ning Chu was a bit of a perv, she had never discussed such topics face-to-face with anyone, and her cheeks quickly flushed with embarrassment. She glanced around, ensuring no one was peeking at her phone screen.
“Maybe let’s skip that…?” she quickly typed out a response, attaching a “speechless cat” emoji.
I have to admit, chatting online does effectively reduce the embarrassment.
“If you’re using your hands, make sure to cut your nails round, can’t have any accidents.”
Her flushed face turned a deeper shade of crimson as Ning Chu fidgeted a bit in her seat. “……”
“Don’t be shy~ Look at you, turning red~ This is a succubus’s essential lesson!”
How dare you say that to me!
If you weren’t shy, you wouldn’t be sitting here and insisting on chatting through your phone!
Ning Chu glared at the Ice Mountain Goddess with an annoyed blush.
“Why did you only develop after entering university? Your chest is still so cute.”
“I’d like to know that too.”
“Let me peek at how much you’ve developed!”
And here came the deranged comments…
Ning Chu sighed hopelessly. “I already have half a heart shape.”
Before, it had just been a half-arc shape, but after today’s plot destruction, the lines on her abdomen unmistakably resembled a half heart.
“Well, that’s just the beginning! It could take one or two more years. No wonder you look so small; I was developing better than you when I was thirteen!”
For Ning Chu, she probably just needed a few more plot destruction sessions.
Lily’s online combat prowess left her feeling defeated. What was worse was that this girl seemed to have completely split her online persona and her real-life self into two entirely different characters.
Online, she was a GHS enthusiast; in reality, she wore conservative hoodies and pants, perfectly maintaining the Ice Mountain Goddess’s stoic image.
Ning Chu couldn’t even manage that.
Fuming, she typed back, “Why don’t you find a guy instead of playing with toys all the time?!”
“Men are dirty and smelly.”
“Then you won’t just go and pass your first time to a toy, will you?”
“Of course!”
This girl had the audacity to say that, making her feel utterly outmatched…
Ning Chu simply put the phone down and turned to Lily. “I’m tired of typing; let’s just talk.”
“Come on~ let’s keep chatting~” Lily leaned in closer, teasing. “I checked out that site of yours. Got any good doujin recommendations?”
“None.”
Lily slightly bowed her head, and her blank face quickly flushed a bright shade.
“You’re usually quite chatty online, right?”
With her silent response, Ning Chu didn’t feel like toying with her any longer, rolling her eyes. “You’re way too socially anxious!”
Online, she was a social dynamo; in reality, she was a social recluse!
“Ning Chu! Time to gather! Class is about to end!”
From afar on the playground, Wen Yang called out, waving at them.
“Coming!” Ning Chu stuffed the women’s clothing into Lily’s arms. “Help me take this to Xinya.”
“Alright.”
They jogged over to the playground, where the gym teacher had already started calling out names.
This was to prevent students from sneaking back to the dorms during free activities.
“Ning Chu.”
“Here!”
Ning Chu had already scooted up to Wen Yang’s side. “Are we going to the cafeteria for lunch or taking it back to the dorm?”
“I’ll practice a bit more; I don’t want to embarrass myself at the sports meet.”
Indeed, showing off too much or failing miserably wouldn’t be great during the sports meet—either could significantly boost Wen Yang’s notoriety.
Ning Chu stood on tiptoe and quietly reminded Wen Yang, “During the sports meet, don’t aim for the top three; just let it slide, as long as you don’t embarrass yourself.”
“Why?” Wen Yang looked puzzled. “The instructor said there’s a hundred bucks for first place.”
“Don’t just think about the money!”
“Well, bringing honor to the class isn’t too shabby either.”
“……”
Ning Chu helplessly explained, “It’s not about honor or money; it’s just that if you’re in the top three, a lot of people at school will definitely recognize you.”
“Broadcast will surely announce it, and who knows, there might even be an award ceremony. Those bad women will start eyeing you!”
Wen Yang shrugged, “So what if they do? I don’t have that much money on me anyway.”
Most of his tutoring pay went to Ning Chu for clothes, leaving him just enough for food until next month.
“……”
“Are you jealous?” Wen Yang suddenly shifted gears, glancing down at Ning Chu.
Ning Chu rolled her eyes at him. “Why would I be jealous of you?”
“Then it doesn’t matter.”
How can he be so hardheaded!
