49. Friday
Wen Yang, deep in thought, returned to his bed, ready for a good ol’ nap. But as soon as he closed his eyes, all he could see was Ning Chu’s face.
A succubus, huh?
There aren’t many succubi in school, and the only one he knows well, Lily, is shy and quiet, leaving him pretty clueless about the whole succubi thing.
They say succubi have silver markings on their lower abdomen.
And that succubi become more ferocious with each encounter, making most men no match for them.
Some succubi even come with a built-in steering wheel, but Ning Chu didn’t seem to have even a tail.
Curiosity piqued, Wen Yang leaned over to peek at Ning Chu, who was sitting at her desk beneath him. She looked so fragile and youthful—like a middle schooler! Seriously, if he was just judging by looks, he’d never imagine her as someone who could twist her waist, her face full of desire, chasing after him!
If he’d been less resolute yesterday, who knows? Ning Chu might’ve eaten him alive!
Noticing Wen Yang’s gaze, Ning Chu glanced up, their eyes met for a brief moment, then her face turned beet red, and she hurriedly looked down again.
With a heavy sigh, Ning Chu thought to herself: If only she could keep her secret of being a succubus hidden from Wen Yang.
But yesterday’s incident needed an explanation. Otherwise, Wen Yang might start speculating wildly. Plus, it would help her feel a bit more at ease in front of him.
And the state of her body was getting worse. If Wen Yang found out, he’d definitely go out of his way to help her, shielding her in the dorm so she wouldn’t end up in a “three-on-one” situation.
Fortunately, this guy isn’t dumb; he correctly figured things out through casual probing.
Otherwise, she’d have to flap her clothes up, pull her pants down, and show him her silver marking… Talk about shameless!
It was still early, so Ning Chu idly played on her computer, yawning and preparing to crawl back into bed.
But just as she gripped the ladder with both hands and put one foot on the first rung, a realization hit her.
When did she start trusting Wen Yang so much?
He’s supposed to be the main character she should be wary of!
Yet here she was, willingly exposing her biggest secret and weakness.
Just a moment ago, she had thought that she could keep it all hidden—absolutely not letting Wen Yang find out she was a succubus, for fear he’d use it to tempt her.
“What are you hanging around for?”
Zhang Shaoqing was awake, his eyes wide open, seeing Ning Chu perched on the ladder like an awkward bird.
“Lost in thought.”
Ning Chu quickly scrambled up, throwing herself onto her bed and hiding under the covers.
Such a pile of troublesome thoughts~
Ever since she crossed over, not a single day in the past two months had been trouble-free.
Her body was having issues, and now her parents’ problems were staring her in the face… She could only hope her mother was a succubus herself, already aware of her situation.
Because let’s be real, turning her son into a succubus daughter would be a tough pill for most parents to swallow, right?
So what kind of father would exist in this world…?
Waking up too early, as soon as she lay back, her brain got fuzzy, and she drifted into a daydream, thinking about her various worries, until the dorm began to buzz with noise.
Zhang Shaoqing got up every morning to wash his hair, standing under Ning Chu’s bed, the hairdryer roaring and echoing throughout the room. Wang Jie’s mouse and keyboard clicked away like rapid-fire, and Wen Yang was tossing and turning in bed, shaking the whole bed frame.
“Why are you packing so early?”
“Anyway, I don’t have a match today; I’m just going home,” Zhang Shaoqing said, finishing packing his bag and arranging his hair with hairspray in front of the mirror. “Wanna come with me? Otherwise, I’ll just be bored at home all day.”
“Forget it.”
“My mom’s super warm and welcoming.”
“Please, no…”
Wang Jie had to endure Zhang Shaoqing’s constant nagging to go out every week, though he much preferred to stay in the dorm.
“Fine, I’m outta here then.”
The dorm fell slightly quieter, but Ning Chu was already awake thanks to their chatter.
She sluggishly glanced at the time. Though it felt like she’d only napped for a second, it was already a bit past nine.
Peeking down at Wang Jie and Wen Yang, she first froze, then asked, “Wen Yang, did you put medication on your injury today?”
“All good, don’t worry.”
“Just be careful, alright?” Ning Chu then turned to Wang Jie, “So, you’re not going out with Zhang Shaoqing this weekend?”
“I was planning to play Script Killing with you guys, but didn’t you say you were too busy?” Wang Jie turned around, noticing the bird’s nest that was Ning Chu’s hair.
“Oh…”
Ning Chu suddenly perked up.
No way! If you’re not leaving, how am I supposed to get into mischief at the dorm?!
She was counting on the weekend when she’d be all alone in the dorm to finally release all this pent-up energy.
She had it all planned out. She’d wear Wen Yang’s clothes to bask in the protagonist aura and avoid summoning any perverts or tentacle monsters while confirming Wen Yang’s absence for the day, ensuring he was home, giving lessons to sidestep any plot triggers.
In a rush of creativity fueled by her GHS, Ning Chu quickly concocted a plan, trying to tempt Wang Jie, “Hey Wang Jie, you don’t have a match today, right? Why not go visit your girlfriend? With the weekend, you could spend three whole days together~”
Wang Jie muttered forlornly, “I just saw her last time…”
“Why aren’t you taking her more seriously?!” Ning Chu chastised the poor homebody. “You’ve got a long-distance relationship! If you don’t nurture the feelings, aren’t you afraid she’ll find someone else?”
Wen Yang nodded in agreement: “Yeah, I notice you barely call her. Gotta foster those feelings in a long-distance relationship.”
“Uh… that’s somewhat reasonable,” Wang Jie mumbled, hesitantly getting up but still gazing at the computer screen.
This otaku was hopeless.
God knows how he ever found a girlfriend!
Ning Chu rolled her eyes but then saw Wen Yang approaching her with breakfast.
“Just wait till I go down to eat; put it on the table.”
“Sure.”
And then there was Zhang Shaoqing…
That guy had gone home early on Friday, leaving the weekend free for him in the dorm.
Ning Chu bit her lip, noticing Wen Yang’s gaze drift to her lower abdomen.
She was already thin-skinned as it was, and her cheeks erupted in a warm blush as she shot a glare at Wen Yang, “What the hell are you looking at?!”
“……” Wen Yang nonchalantly shifted his gaze away. “By the way, the instructor asked me to help out at the field this afternoon.”
“Help out?”
“Yeah, it’s the last day of the sports meet, and I have to take down the sunshade and pack away the tables and chairs at the field.”
“Absolutely not!”
Ning Chu quickly dismissed the idea. Today, Wen Yang wasn’t allowed to leave the dorm!
In the dorm, Wen Yang wouldn’t be tempted by bad women, and she could avoid triggering a plot that would make her explode with feels again.
Wen Yang looked puzzled: “If someone flirts with me, I’ll handle it like I did yesterday during lunch…”
“Even more no!”
You going rogue and messing up the plot? My brain might just fry!
“I’m a class officer…” Wen Yang sighed in resignation at her fierce glare, “Alright, I’ll just say my foot isn’t healed yet.”
“Exactly!”
Ning Chu couldn’t help but shudder at Wen Yang’s doting smile.
It’s such an unreasonable objection, yet why does it never seem to repel him?
