83. Zhang Shaoqing’s Troubles
Zhang Shaoqing tidied up his appearance, trying to cover up everything that had just happened.
Fortunately, he had been scared stiff earlier, or else Wen Yang wouldn’t have been able to face anyone right now.
He opened the dorm room door.
Looking up, he saw a woman standing outside, dressed in a fitted long qipao, with a graceful smile that could melt glaciers.
The qipao accentuated her gorgeous figure – high, rounded hills, a slender waist, and a voluptuous backside, creating an almost perfect S-curve. At a glance, her made-up face looked like it belonged to someone in their thirties, radiating an intellectual yet gentle aura.
But Wen Yang’s mind was still fixated on Ning Chu’s body. He was slightly annoyed that this lady was interrupting his precious moments with her.
He had finally convinced Ning Chu to take the initiative and kiss him!
Just a quick glance, and he curiously asked, “Who are you?”
“I’m Zhang Shaoqing’s mother, Zhang Shuyi.”
He expected a controlling mother with a sharp tongue, but was met with the image of gentle grace standing before him.
“Oh~ hello, Auntie.”
“…” Zhang Shuyi’s expression froze for a moment before quickly returning to her warm smile. “I’m here to find Shaoqing. Where is he?”
Wen Yang recalled Zhang Shaoqing’s advice before he left and shook his head in confusion. “He must have gone out to have fun. Why don’t you check around?”
He just wanted this auntie to leave ASAP so he could rekindle that flirty atmosphere from earlier.
Thinking about Ning Chu’s sweet scent…
However, Zhang Shuyi walked right into the dorm, frowning slightly, casting an eye around the messy room before her gaze landed on Ning Chu outside on the balcony.
“Why is there a girl in the dormitory?”
Wen Yang was taken aback and rushed to explain, “It’s a guy, just looks pretty.”
A guy?
Through the balcony window, Zhang Shuyi scrutinized Ning Chu.
At that moment, Ning Chu was wearing an oversized coat that completely concealed her modest chest, but her jeans were snug around her legs. Though her height was modest, the proportion made her legs look long and graceful.
Having just washed her face, she looked up to see Zhang Shuyi observing her through the glass, and uneasily offered a polite smile.
Zhang Shuyi looked Ning Chu over and couldn’t shake the feeling she was just a naive young girl.
“Really a guy?”
“Auntie, I swear!”
Frowning slightly, she turned to survey Zhang Shaoqing’s messy desk. She walked over, tidying up as she asked, “He’s not answering his phone, and he’s not here. He shouldn’t be in any trouble, right?”
“Auntie, he’s a grown man. What trouble could he possibly be in?” Wen Yang tried to soothe Zhang Shuyi, “He just left this morning. Who knows where he’s playing?”
“I haven’t been able to contact him for several days… Did he say anything before he left?”
“Nope.”
Zhang Shuyi finished cleaning up her son’s desk, then began pacing back and forth with increasing agitation, before quickly leaving the dorm.
Once the door was shut, Wen Yang let out a sigh of relief and turned to Ning Chu, who had just returned to the dorm, eagerly asking,
“Shall we continue?”
“Dream on!”
Ning Chu’s cheeks turned a bright shade of pink. She shot Wen Yang an irritated look, then sat down at her desk, stretching as she asked, “That was Shaoqing’s mom?”
“Yeah, she seems very easygoing. I wonder why Shaoqing is avoiding her.”
The book didn’t provide any specifics about Zhang Shaoqing’s family, leaving her to guess, “Does she hit Shaoqing often?”
“Look at Zhang Shaoqing. If he were ever hit, would he just take it without running away?”
“True….”
Ning Chu rested her chin on her hand at the desk, her expression slightly worried.
She hoped this wouldn’t turn Zhang Shaoqing into the villain from the book.
That shameless delinquent look was annoying, but it was better than becoming a lawbreaker who harms girls!
Seeing her concerned expression, Wen Yang knew she couldn’t resist meddling: “This is Shaoqing’s family affair. Let’s just stay out of it, okay?”
“I’m just a little worried…”
“Look at you, always worrying about nothing.” Wen Yang leaned back against the wardrobe, gazing at the side of Ning Chu’s face. “He’s the kind of person who just drinks it off when something happens.”
“Here’s hoping,” Ning Chu mumbled, “Why does Zhang Shaoqing have so many problems?”
Look at Wang Jie, he’s way less of a headache~ Always glued to his computer, reliable, and has a sweet girlfriend who never gives her any trouble.
Ning Chu sat in front of her computer, pondering for a moment before reluctantly giving up on those meddling ideas.
Even the best of officials can’t judge family matters, so what can she do?
Ning Chu lifted her head and saw Wen Yang still standing there. “Why are you just sticking around like that?”
Wen Yang didn’t say anything, but his eyes were glued to her lips. Seeing her face turning red, she shot him a sharp look. “You’ve got a problem, huh? Go play your game!”
Just moments ago, they were all flirty and cuddly, now he was acting like a stranger!
“Alright then, how about duos?”
“Don’t you dare mention anything about the book again!”
“Not a peep, promise.”
Ning Chu watched Wen Yang walk away, sighing in distress.
Even though hanging out with Wen Yang was quite fun, there were always messy issues buzzing around that made her head spin.
Zhang Shaoqing’s family matters probably had to be sorted out by him alone, and Ning Chu didn’t even know what she could do…
Just as she opened the game, the dorm door swung open again.
Ning Chu and Wen Yang turned to see Zhang Shaoqing sneaking into the room like a ninja.
“Did my mom just come by?”
“Yup.”
“She didn’t spill the beans on me, did she?”
Wen Yang rolled his eyes. “Do you think I’m that kind of person?”
“That’s good! I’m just grabbing a couple of clothes, gonna crash with Wang Jie tonight.”
Ning Chu couldn’t help but ask, “Hey! Is everything okay?”
“Nothing’s wrong, I’m just hiding for a bit. It’s my mom who’s got the headache, not me.”
Zhang Shaoqing had a carefree grin on his face as he turned to Ning Chu and grinned, “What’s up? Can’t help but meddle again, huh?”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got a plan!” He looked completely confident. “I’ll just keep dodging my mom until she’s had enough and gives in.”
“I’m already an adult in college! Why’s my mom still micromanaging my life? Someone might think I’m a three-year-old! I can’t take it anymore.”
“And she’s trying to set me up on blind dates! I’m only eighteen; I’m still a kid! She’s like pushing me into the grave before I’ve even had my fun. How cold-hearted can she be? We’re not in Mao-era matchmaking times anymore!”
He rambled on and swiftly packed his clothes, then turned to make a dash for it.
Ning Chu stared at Zhang Shaoqing, feeling a bit lost as she turned to Wen Yang and asked, “Why is he acting like an adult one moment and a kid the next?”
“Mature body, childlike mindset, perhaps?”
“What kind of nonsense…?”
Ning Chu muttered, but seeing that Zhang Shaoqing seemed fine, she felt a bit more at ease.
As long as he didn’t turn into a villain, she really couldn’t care about anything else.
Wait a minute! Zhang Shaoqing was heading off to stay with Wang Jie! That meant she’d be alone with Wen Yang all weekend!
Suddenly, she felt a huge “danger” sign flashing over her head.
