Chapter 89: Glasses
Transparent… glasses?
Ning Chu’s curiosity piqued as she inspected the delicate wire-framed glasses in her hand, then glanced back at Zhang Shaoqing, who looked like life itself had rejected him.
The book didn’t have much to say about this thing, only that it’s a pair of glasses that grant X-ray vision and are used for… well, GHS purposes.
There were plenty of similarly creepy props around, but any pervy plots that violated women’s consent had always been pinned squarely on the villain’s shoulders.
As for whether the glasses only let you see through clothing down to the birthday suit, or they could pierce other materials, or even see through bodies to the bones and innards—she, as the author, had no clue.
Still, it was curious, worth a try…
Ning Chu stole a glance at Wen Yang.
After all, she’d already seen everything of Wen Yang from top to toe twice while he was on the toilet. Giving him a once-over with the glasses wouldn’t be too big a deal, right?
“Give them back~” Zhang Shaoqing moaned weakly, “They’re mine…”
“One mustn’t act so brutishly,” Ning Chu proclaimed with noble righteousness, “You can’t just snatch things! I’m doing you a favor, preventing you from committing crimes. I’ll hold onto them for you!”
Wen Yang nodded earnestly, “I trust Ning Chu’s integrity.”
“What about my integrity?! Haven’t I treated you both to late-night snacks and milk tea countless times?”
“Evil incarnate! Made me gain two pounds!”
“Ning Chu, you didn’t complain when you were munching!” Zhang Shaoqing, watching Ning Chu place the glasses on her nose, panicked, instinctively shielding his groin, “My god! Are you some kind of pervert?!”
Ning Chu, delighted as though she’d just acquired a fun new toy, chirped, “I’m just gonna try…”
She turned around, facing the wall, and wrinkled her nose in disdain at Zhang Shaoqing’s reaction, “Even if you wanted me to look, I wouldn’t. Way too spicy for my eyes.”
Donning the glasses, she first stared at the sturdy wall, then bent down and looked at the bed.
Hmm… couldn’t see through the wall to the neighboring dormitory. Couldn’t see through the bed to the desk beneath it either.
Then, she pressed both hands against the glasses.
Also couldn’t see through the human body…
However, when she looked at her own thighs, her vision no longer detected her shorts. Instead, she directly saw the skin at the root of her legs.
Her face reddened slightly, and Ning Chu, feeling rather embarrassed and a little angry, quickly removed the glasses.
What kind of shenanigan is this? Can’t this thing be used for anything other than peeping?!
She had thought this might be helpful for cheating during exams by seeing other people’s test papers.
“Just junk!” She placed the glasses back into their box and turned to Zhang Shaoqing, “All it does is seeing through clothes. You having it serves no purpose whatsoever. I’ll confiscate it!”

Zhang Shaoqing leaned back against the table, arms crossed, muttering complaints, “Both of you are nuts! I wouldn’t even use it to spy on girls.”
“What’s your excuse for using it to spy on me?”
“I’d be staring at you righteously and with full moral justification!”
“Man!”
“Then let me take a look. Just prove it! Both men, what’re you shy about? Not like I’m asking you to strip!”
Ning Chu snorted softly, slowly climbed down from her bed, unlocked her drawer with her key, placed the glasses box inside, and locked it up.
She furtively glanced back, opened the wardrobe, and quickly retrieved two sanitary napkins from a stack of clothes, shoving them into her pocket.
She estimated her period would arrive in these next couple of days.
To avoid the embarrassing situation of having a red behind, she needed to use sanitary napkins beforehand, in case of any mishaps.
That Zhang Shaoqing, intending to find out her gender, was willing to use X-ray vision… seemed like he wouldn’t be able to keep her secret for long.
Thankfully, Zhang Shaoqing was nervous during his first such perverted attempt, having gone and consulted Wen Yang, only to be immediately betrayed.
“I’m gonna go to the bathroom.”
“My thing~”
Zhang Shaoqing looked mournfully at Ning Chu’s retreating figure, wistfully watching Ning Chu leave the dormitory.
He turned to Wen Yang, “What did she take from the wardrobe? She seemed so sneaky.”
“How would I know?”
“Ah~”
He stood up, walking towards the balcony with a worried expression, and lit a cigarette.
Watching the smoke swirl around, he sighed woefully, “I was planning on taking the class to see some beauties.”
Want is one thing; most lewd fellows getting their hands on such paraphernalia would fantasize about ogling beautiful girls, but actually acting on it was deviant behavior.
Zhang Shaoqing pondered a little, and sure enough, he’d probably do the same… Holy smokes, just imagining wearing the glasses, the whole class’s beauties laid bare before his eyes—it was certainly a stimulating image.

Zhang Shaoqing watched Wen Yang leave the dormitory, turned around, glanced at the bathroom with no sign of movement, then entered the room, tip-toed, and peeked at Wang Jie still snoring away.
In the end, his gaze fell on Ning Chu’s wardrobe.
His eyes flickered with hesitation, his heart beating faster due to his guilty conscience.
Just a quick peek into the wardrobe…
Ning Chu’s wardrobe was always tightly shut, whereas his always stayed wide open, not hiding anything inside.
When Ning Chu took something from her wardrobe, her movements were swift, clearly trying to conceal something.

He stretched out his hand, opened the wardrobe door, and glanced inside.
The wardrobe had two tiers. The upper level held neatly folded clothes in perfect squares with a few pairs of underwear and socks casually tossed away in a corner, and the lower level had a luggage box and some miscellaneous items.
At first glance, there was nothing unusual.
“What’re you doing?”
“!”
Zhang Shaoqing turned around abruptly to find Ning Chu leaning against the balcony door, arms crossed, eyeing him calmly.
He sheepishly closed the wardrobe door, coolly making up an excuse, “I lost a couple of pairs of underwear, thought maybe you accidentally took them.”
“Oh.”
Ning Chu’s nerves were taut, her heart up in her throat, but her face remained expressionless as she tried to appear calm.
If she showed panic now, Zhang Shaoqing would have definitive proof that she was hiding something in her wardrobe.
As soon as that guy left the dormitory, she’d need to transfer the sanitary napkins, find a new hiding spot.
She sat back at her desk, contemplating whether she should just confess to Zhang Shaoqing.
Nope! That might escalate into being in a pickle!
“Hey, why do you think I’d take the glasses and peep at girls?”
“This thing can only see through clothes, and anyway, haven’t you already seen?”
“That’s not what I mean..” Zhang Shaoqing’s expression darkened slightly, “I mean, from the beginning it seems like you think I won’t be up to any good.”
