248. Hourly Room
“Mom! Just these couple of days! You have to come pick her up!”
“You know what my situation is! If I’m around her… I’ll probably spoil her!”
“Please~”
After class at noon, Ning Chu hid in a small park near the teaching building, pacing back and forth on the cobblestone path, begging her mother relentlessly.
“Mom~ Just swing by, it’ll only take half a day to drive there and back!”
“Or else I’ll just have to get a classmate to take her home!”
She begged her mother with all her might, nearly at her wits’ end.
If it were just taking care of the little catgirl, she could manage that with her best foot forward. But now, with the little catgirl suddenly getting all emotional, there was a high chance of her losing her cool right under Black Bean’s watchful eyes.
Her embarrassment was about to overflow!
She glanced at the little catgirl, who was running around in the small garden, and bit her lip. “Mom! We agreed, okay?”

Her mom hesitated on the other end of the line, which only made Ning Chu more anxious.
“Mom~”
“Maybe you should sweet-talk me a bit.”
Her mother chuckled, teasing her: “You’ve never been much of a sweet talker, have you?”

Ning Chu’s face flushed slightly, realizing that her conversation with her mom had sounded like a spoiled little girl throwing a tantrum.
She adjusted her mindset, thinking about how to act cute until her mother was satisfied.
This was something she had never pondered before! No girl had ever acted cute toward her either; it was quite the challenge.
“Mom…” Ning Chu stammered for a bit, “Um, um…”
Her mother burst into laughter. “Alright, alright! I’ll find a time to rent a car in the next couple of days to pick her up, okay?”
“Yay! You’re the best, Mom!”
Ning Chu finally sighed in relief. She put down her phone, and when she looked up, she saw Black Bean had somehow made her way over to her side, looking at her with big, sad eyes, like a little kitten that had been abandoned.
Guilt washed over her.
She squatted down, gently petting Black Bean’s head, soothing her, “It’s okay, we’re just going to my sister’s house. Over there, you’ll have plenty of meat to eat, with fish and shrimp occasionally too~”
Upon hearing this, Black Bean’s eyes sparkled: “Okay!”

Ning Chu shot Black Bean an exasperated look. So much for feeling guilty just a moment ago.
Her time taking care of Black Bean had shrunk from a month to two days, but she still couldn’t relax.
Having experienced the perks of a succubus’s body, her resistance to emotional outbreaks had significantly weakened. During class previously, she had almost lost her mind and called Wen Yang to help with her physical needs.
Ning Chu held Black Bean’s hand aimlessly wandering about the small garden while Wen Yang trailed beside her, enjoying the peacefulness of the afternoon.
But Ning Chu’s gaze kept drifting toward Wen Yang.
She could barely handle one punishment; if she kept holding back, she had no idea what she might do next time.
Two days didn’t guarantee that Wen Yang wouldn’t ruin the plot by rejecting some female presence.

Hesitantly, she asked Wen Yang, “Um… can you watch Black Bean for a moment? I’m going to the girls’ dorm to find Xinya?”
Yan Xinya and Lily both knew her well, and the girls’ dormitory was quite safe.
Wen Yang looked down at her slightly flushed face: “How about we just rent an hourly room outside instead?”
“……”
Caught red-handed, Ning Chu felt even more awkward. She hung her head and muttered, “But then who’ll take care of Black Bean?”
Black Bean looked up, glancing from Ning Chu to Wen Yang.
She tugged at Ning Chu’s shirt, whining: “Mom! I want to go back and sleep.”
“Huh? But weren’t you sleeping in class the whole time?”
“There were too many people; I couldn’t sleep well.”
Ning Chu looked down at Black Bean, who seemed a bit socially anxious. Even during class, she frequently woke up, and now she was looking around anxiously, nearly bouncing off the walls.
That little hand held on tightly to her, as if scared of being abandoned.
Seeing that Black Bean really wasn’t suited for the outside world, Ning Chu felt a headache coming on and helplessly nodded, “Alright, I’ll take you back.”
She had once been a stray cat, but after being kept inside for a while, she had become such a homebody.
Definitely Wang Jie’s fault!
“Once we’re home, you behave and sleep nicely. Don’t mess around. If you need anything, just use the computer to voice call me, like I taught you on the weekend!”
“Okay!”
With only two hours for lunch, taking the bus to and fro would take an hour.
Ning Chu turned to Wen Yang: “Are you going back too? Or going to the library to read?”
“I’m fine either way.”
She nodded thoughtfully.
Wen Yang’s suggestion didn’t seem half bad.
About half an hour later, the three of them arrived back at the rental apartment.
All the way there, Ning Chu was like a worrying mother, incessantly instructing Black Bean, afraid the little catgirl might cause trouble at home.
“I put water on the table, and the snacks are under the coffee table. If you’re hungry, help yourself.”
“I started a game on the computer for you. If you get bored, just click here…”
She locked the windows, fearful that the cat might make a daring leap out, and once she made sure everything was okay, she noticed Black Bean had already quickly climbed onto the bed to sleep. Only then did she let out a sigh of relief.
Who knows how much of that actually got through to her…
But at least she was behaving nicely, not like a rebellious kid who would get impatient after just a few nagging words.
Ning Chu tucked Black Bean in with a quilt and then headed out of the room. “Wen Yang, let’s go.”
Wen Yang had barely settled on the sofa, still feeling warm from sitting.
He looked up in confusion: “Huh? We’re leaving now? There’s still almost an hour until class starts, right?”
“We’re leaving!”
Ning Chu reiterated, and only then did Wen Yang, still baffled, follow her out of the rental apartment.
After locking the door behind them, she grabbed Wen Yang’s arm and hurried down the stairs.
“Where are we going?”
Being pulled along, Wen Yang stumbled a bit, unsure why Ning Chu was in such a rush.
“We’ll take a taxi to class later.”
He responded in confusion but saw Ning Chu suddenly come to a stop, looking up at a sign for a store.
A hotel…
Now he got it.
It was the first time he’d seen Ning Chu so proactive!
The little succubus blushed all over, eagerly walking up to the front desk, staring at the young lady behind the counter. After a few seconds hesitation, she said, “I’d like an hourly room, please…”
Finally free from Black Bean, she had to solve her issues quickly!
Though feeling a little embarrassed now, if next time she were to be punished and lost her cool in class, then it wouldn’t just be a matter of embarrassment anymore!
Using the room card, she opened the hotel room door, and as she stepped inside, her legs froze.
Her face was written with shyness as she turned back to look at Wen Yang, who casually closed the door behind him.
Gazing into his affectionate eyes, Wen Yang, seemingly unfazed, stretched lazily: “Why suddenly want to rent an hourly room? Isn’t resting at home just as fine?”
This guy was doing it on purpose!
Ning Chu lowered her head, her ears ablaze.
“Um…”
Even though she wanted Wen Yang to leave and handle things by herself, clearly, doing it alone wasn’t nearly as satisfying as with his help.

Embarrassed words wouldn’t come out, so she boldly stepped forward, stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around Wen Yang’s neck, and leaned in, covering his lips with her soft ones.
