257. The Girl Who Inked Out
Early in the morning, Wen Yang was roused from his slumber by the chatter outside his window.
As his brain gradually fired up, he felt a tightness in his chest, as if a stone slab had been placed upon him, making it hard to breathe.
He opened his tired eyes and looked down, only to find Ning Chu’s head nestled against his chest, her thigh raised high and pressing on his lower belly as if she were an octopus, her arms wrapped tightly around him.
He had been turned into a human pillow.
With her little head weighing on his chest all night, he was now left with a slight, nagging soreness.
Wen Yang gritted his teeth and carefully shifted Ning Chu to the pillow to let her continue sleeping.
Ning Chu used to prefer resting her head on his arm, but she quickly learned that if she did that for a night, she’d wake up with an arm so stiff and sore it wouldn’t budge the next day.
He sat up and took a look at Ning Chu’s horrendous sleeping posture.
She was wearing nothing but a short sleep dress, which had somehow been bunched up to her waist, revealing her white underwear and the little silver line in her lower belly region. She lay flat on the bed, her adorable pink tail adorned with little hearts poking out between her legs, sleeping like a log and looking ridiculously innocent. Wen Yang’s previous attempt to shuffle her had barely stirred her awake.
Wen Yang felt a little stirred himself, his gaze wandering down to Ning Chu’s chest.
For some reason, it seemed… a bit bigger?
No matter how perky it was, lying flat, it always looked rather small. But now, he could vaguely detect a change.
Was it due to his nurturing skills these past few days, or was Ning Chu just going through some developmental phases?
Feeling a bit mischievous, he couldn’t help but reach out to confirm.
Yup, definitely bigger.
After his own little hands-on research, he arrived at a solid conclusion.
Still soft and squishy…
However, the moment he looked back at Ning Chu, she had opened her mesmerizing peach blossom eyes.
Despite having already invaded all areas of her being, Wen Yang still felt a little guilty and explained, “A mosquito landed on you.”
Having just woken up, Ning Chu was still a bit dazed, her eyes sparkling. Lazily flipping over to her side, her tail coiled from under her bottom to hug her chest, she mumbled, “Hmmm… What time is it?”
“Six o’clock.”
“I’m going to sleep a bit more. Wake me up at seven.”
“I’ll go get you breakfast.”
“…”
Wen Yang watched as Ning Chu’s long, curled eyelashes fluttered slightly, gradually falling back into slumber. It was clear she was deep asleep once more.
For some reason, whenever he was in the same room as Ning Chu, his thoughts always drifted to more… intimate scenarios.
With the manly morning reaction combined with the racy thoughts in his head, he felt uncomfortable enough that he could hardly even step into the bathroom.
Was it because of her succubus aroma?
It was said that a succubus’ scent could awaken a man’s desires, and since Ning Chu rarely opened a window, the room was filled with her stimulating fragrance.
So that’s probably why when his future mother-in-law visited the rental apartment, she rushed straight to open the windows for ventilation?
After finally washing his face and taking care of personal hygiene, Wen Yang stepped out of the apartment. Since it was still early, he decided to stroll around the village to see if he could find breakfast Ning Chu hadn’t tried yet.
“The Sha County breakfast place isn’t open yet this early.”
“Ning Chu’s had the braised noodles several times and said she was getting sort of bored with them.”
Ning Chu would latch onto any good food she found and eat it for days on end until she got tired of it.
Wen Yang wandered along a path in the village, glancing at the local shops.
This village housed quite a few students from nearby universities, resulting in many little shops opening up. Since the area was a bit remote with cheap rent, businesses catered not only to tenants but also to deliver for several nearby colleges.
He stumbled upon a busy porridge shop.
The shop only had a couple of tables—clearly, their main business was takeout.
“Boss, I’ll have a century egg and pork porridge, one oil stick, and two meat buns to go.”
“Just a moment! Please have a seat.”
Feeling a bit stuffy inside, Wen Yang moved a chair outside the door. Leaning against the wall, he looked across the small path and suddenly noticed that an old man sitting there had the exact same posture as him.
The village mornings were so relaxing.
He smiled at the old man, took a deep breath of the refreshing morning air, and felt more revitalized.
Glancing at his mobile phone to make sure Ning Chu hadn’t woken up in search of him, he looked up and suddenly spotted a familiar figure at the end of the path.
Hmmm, that silhouette looks a bit familiar.
Wen Yang scrutinized the person, only to see that the girl had quickly sensed his gaze, hastily ducked her head, pulled her hoodie over her head, and quickened her pace, looking flustered and nervous.
Seeing her actions reminded Wen Yang of someone.
The vampire girl he had seen at school, who was shy and introverted—who would have thought she lived in this village too?
He didn’t pay any more mind to her. Instead, he pondered over how to further cultivate Ning Chu’s development.
She had to get to a C-cup, after all!
Five foot three, C-cup. It shouldn’t be too large to ruin aesthetic appeal, yet wouldn’t come off as too small and cute either.
He figured his big hands might just fit perfectly around, maybe missing it a little bit, but it wasn’t a huge problem.
Lost in thought, he suddenly heard a soft thud in front of him.
Wen Yang looked up in confusion, only to find that the vampire girl had gently plopped down onto the ground, barely a foot from his shoes.
“…”
His first thought was—could this girl be trying to grab his attention in such an extravagant way?
“Hey, are you alright?”
The girl lay there on the ground, not moving for a while.
“Hey?” Wen Yang was starting to panic.
He couldn’t even think about Ning Chu getting jealous; he hurriedly stood and rushed to the fainted girl’s side, too concerned to move her. He pulled out his phone and called for help.
“What’s wrong with her?”
The porridge shop worker stepped outside, carrying Wen Yang’s takeout.
“Not sure. She just fainted suddenly,” Wen Yang responded. “I called for an ambulance. They’ll be here soon. Maybe you could…”
Before he could finish, the worker shook their head vigorously: “I have to get back to work.”
The path was eerily quiet, and neither the worker nor Wen Yang had any knowledge of first aid. They could only stare at the girl lying on the ground, too hesitant to approach.
“Maybe we should at least get her inside the shop?”
“Alright…”
—
Ning Chu opened her eyes and checked her phone, realizing it was already seven thirty.
Her mind instantly cleared, and she jumped out of bed, shouting, “Wen Yang! Why didn’t you wake me up?! It’s already seven thirty!”
She scrambled into the bathroom, grabbed her toothbrush, ready to wash up when she suddenly realized Wen Yang was nowhere to be found.
“Wen Yang?”
Ning Chu poked her head out of the bathroom, scanning the room: “Where are you?”
Vaguely, she remembered Wen Yang had said he was going to buy breakfast, right?
But now class was about to start, and he still hadn’t returned?
She wasn’t worried that something had happened to Wen Yang; after all, he was the protagonist, attached to his protagonist halo.
There could only be one explanation!
He must have been entangled by some girl!
