273. Game
Lily was hand-holding Ning Chu through every step of makeup application.
“Did you get it?”
She glanced over at Ning Chu, who had a light layer of makeup on her face.
Ning Chu was still a bit dazed and hesitantly nodded, “Sort of?”
The steps were a bit complicated, leaving her head spinning.
“Just practice more.”
“Okay.”
She looked at herself in the mirror; although she couldn’t spot any flaws, the makeup had indeed boosted the overall vibe, even enhancing her aura a smidge.
Her once childish face looked a tad more mature, but she was still a minor, sporting that high school girl look.
No wonder girls love makeup so much~
Ning Chu cast her eyes down to the cosmetics on the table, pondering, “What should a beginner like me buy… something cost-effective around a few bucks?”
She knew that good quality cosmetics could cost hundreds, but with her budget, a few bucks would suffice.
“This set of cosmetics is yours,” Lily said calmly, handing over the collection of jars and bottles.
“Ah? No need for that?”
“I don’t use this set, it’ll just expire and go bad.”
Ning Chu hesitated to just take Lily’s stuff, shaking her head in reluctance, but Lily had already grabbed a bag and started tossing the cosmetics inside.
Then Ning Chu watched in disbelief as Lily pulled out a small, egg-shaped toy from beneath the makeup table and casually tossed it into the bag too.
“Remember to use it.”
“……”
No! Wasn’t that a makeup kit? Why was there that toy too! Seriously, the toy wasn’t necessary!
What do I need a toy for when I have a boyfriend!
To spice things up? To risk getting broken?!
Ning Chu’s expression stiffened as she watched Lily head over to the TV cabinet, retrieving a gruesome-looking monster and adding it to the bag.
“This is really not needed!”
“Never used it,” Lily cheerfully offered, “It was too big for me to dare using.”
You do know it’s too big, huh!
Is she really intent on turning me into a toy enthusiast or what?
Ning Chu suddenly glanced over at Yan Xinya sprawled on the bed.
No wonder the Wolf Girl sometimes gets so dirty-minded—she must’ve been influenced!
Just then, Yan Xinya woke up, rubbing her tear-streaked eyes, and opened them wide in a daze, locking eyes with Ning Chu.
“Ning Chu, why is your face so red?”
“Nothing!”
Ning Chu jolted, quickly shaking her head and clenching the bag filled with cosmetics on her lap, trying to hide it from Yan Xinya, fearing she’d see the toys.
“I’m hungry!”
“I’ll go make you a hamburger.”
Lily expressionlessly walked out of the bedroom.
She may look like an aloof goddess, but with her personality, she’s hell-bent on instilling a love for toys in me.
Ning Chu sighed dramatically, hugging the bag and letting her curiosity bubble inside her.
Could it really be that enjoyable to be that persistent?
An inexplicable thrill washed over her, and she bit her lip, feeling her cheeks heat up even more.
Is it really more comfortable than warming up with Wen Yang’s hands…
“Ning Chu~ How did you sleep last night?”
Yan Xinya was still sitting at the head of the bed, yawning, completely unconcerned about any potential wardrobe malfunctions.
“It was alright; the bed is really comfy.”
“Right? I think the bed is super comfy too~”
The Wolf Girl rolled around with her quilt: “So big and soft~ Three people could sleep here without feeling cramped~”
Ning Chu bit her lip, tying the bag tighter in her arms. She moved to sit at the bed’s edge and quietly asked Yan Xinya,
“Does Lily often pitch toys to you in the dorm?”
“Pitch to me?”
Yan Xinya blinked: “Are you talking about toys?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Not much? Occasionally online, but usually she’s really shy~ So cute~”
You can’t tell she’s shy at all!
She’s just an utter closet nerd!
Ning Chu let out a dramatic sigh, leaning back against the headboard, glancing at the bag of cosmetics on the makeup table, thinking she might as well ditch those cosmetics altogether.
She’d never wanted to take Lily’s products, who knows how expensive they are~
“Xinya, hamburgers!”
Lily returned with a small plate: “Get out of bed to eat.”
“Okay~”
Yan Xinya eagerly hopped off the bed, grabbed the hamburger, and sat at the desk, munching away with an expression of pure happiness: “Lily is such a good cook~ If I were a boy, I’d definitely marry her~”
“These hamburgers taste way better than the ones outside!”
She finished her breakfast in no time, licking the sauce off her fingers, then asked, “What’s for lunch?”
“Let’s eat out?”
“Sure~”
Lily nodded slightly, turning back to the closet to sort through the autumn and winter clothes and bedding she’d take back to the school dorm.
Though she often wore various long skirts at school, the reality was her wardrobe was incredibly diverse. Ning Chu peeked into the closet and spotted some skintight latex clothing and even some risqué underwear…
This girl really knows how to have fun at home~

Lily noticed Ning Chu’s peeking but kept a straight face as she stuffed the suitcase with more stuff.
“Ning Chu~ Do you play video games?”
Yan Xinya ran over to the TV cabinet, discovering a dusty PS4 that hadn’t seen the light of day in ages.
“Absolutely!”
Ning Chu’s attention was immediately snatched.
It was a game console! The only console she ever owned growing up was a GBA her brother had tired of, and it had barely any games, but she played it through several summers anyway.
During her university internship, she even thought about saving up to buy a PS5, but then she ended up in this world before she could start working.
Excitedly, she plopped down at the end of the bed; Ning Chu accepted the controller Yan Xinya handed her and eagerly asked, “What fun games do you have?”
“So many! I can’t believe how much Lily loves gaming!” Yan Xinya exclaimed, “At school, she only ever played silly visual novels.”
Lily, packing her suitcase, turned her head to explain casually, “It’s my dad’s. He’s done playing.”
“Oh~”
In the drawer beneath the TV cabinet, Ning Chu found a treasure trove—not a single toy in sight, just stacks of neatly packaged game discs crammed in to capacity.
Some of the discs were still wrapped in plastic, completely brand new.
Ning Chu’s eyes sparkled as if she’d stumbled into a gamer’s paradise: “Xinya, these must be awesome!”
Yan Xinya blinked in confusion: “I heard you don’t really game much…”
That’s because the competitive online games here were nothing like those from my past life; the learning curve was way too steep. Games like Honor of Kings demanded newbies memorize all the skills, and even that was a vast undertaking.
“I just don’t like online games, that’s all.”
But new single-player games had zero learning curve! Just pure joy!
As she booted up one of the games, Ning Chu plopped down on the floor, sitting cross-legged against the bed, eyes glued to the CG playing on the TV screen.
“With so many games I haven’t played~ I could totally stay at Lily’s house for a month without stepping outside!”
“What a pity we have to leave this afternoon~”
Yan Xinya looked down at Ning Chu, feeling she was gazing at a classic gaming nerd.
