Chapter 337: Runaway
After dinner, Wen Yang just left without lingering around. He had an early shift tomorrow, needing to clock in by seven, which meant he’d be up around six. So tonight, it was all about hitting the hay early.
Ning Chu sat in the study on the computer, propping her chin on her hand, staring blankly at the screen. She really wasn’t in the mood to type.
This morning at Wen Yang’s rental apartment, the bedraggled bed was impossible to focus in front of. Then she got home and caused a ruckus all day, and now that things were quiet, she still had zero motivation to write.
She sighed gloomily and submitted her only finished chapter.
Not in the mood to play games either, especially since Wen Yang had to tidy his bed after coming home. He had no time to play with her.
Ning Chu turned her head to look at the not-so-distant black bean sitting at the desk.
This cat usually bounced around like a maniac, but today it was exceptionally well-behaved. After eating, it had planted its b*tt down and was furiously working on its homework.
At this rate, Ning Chu was bracing herself for bankruptcy.
Luckily, the black bean didn’t have high culinary demands—twenty bucks’ worth of takeout would suffice… but if it meant writing two pages per takeout, she might just end up broke!
Suddenly, the door to the study swung open, and her mother entered, balancing a plate of cut apples.
Toothpicks were poked into the apples, and she smiled at the black bean diligently doing its homework, ruffling its soft fur. “So good~ already doing your homework!”
“Mm-mm.”
“Here, have some apples.”
“Not really a fan…”
Cats are pure carnivores, not like Yan Xinya, who practically devours everything!
“Ning Chu, you should eat some too.”
“Okay, got it~” Ning Chu glanced at her mother. “Mom, aren’t you going to play Mahjong tonight?”
“Why? Want to go over to Wen Yang’s place?”
“No, how could I…”
It’s not like she was a desperate romance novel heroine whose mind was glued to men!
Ning Chu awkwardly avoided her mother’s teasing gaze. “I’m just worried that if you leave, I won’t be able to control the black bean.”
Her mother shot her an eye roll, stifling a yawn. “I’m off to sleep. Black bean, make sure to brush your teeth and hit the sack by ten. No late nights!”
“Got it!”
“How much have you written?”
“Six pages! Sis! I want a late-night snack tonight!”
“……”
What? It’s only been a short while since the last meal!
Ning Chu felt a pang in her heart… but seeing the black bean so keen, doing its homework quite diligently without any major hiccups, she had to swallow her sorrow and ordered some takeout that just tipped over twenty bucks.
If the black bean aced its exams and got into Tsinghua or Peking University, part of that glory would be on her shoulders!
With her mother yawning off to the main bedroom, the black bean, spotting the order, lost interest in homework and dashed to the living room to wait. Ning Chu took a glance at her bank card, sighed, and slumped over the table.
It was already nine PM, and yet she had no inclination to sleep.
She clicked the mouse, aimlessly browsing the web. But before long, she suddenly tilted her body, peeking at the main bedroom door across the way.
Hmm, looking tightly shut.
Her heart raced a bit faster, flashbacks of last night’s extreme experience flooding her mind, and the urge to sneak away bubbled up.
After all, her mother was asleep and wouldn’t know. As long as she returned before 6 AM, disappearing under the covers again…
But the black bean might betray her for some tasty food, so she’d need to wait until it was cozy in slumber before making a move.
No! Restrain yourself!
Ning Chu slapped her cheeks to wake up a little.
She wasn’t some little loose cannon! Just months ago, she was still a man! Being pinned down was one thing, but how could she indulge in that!
“Sis! The takeout’s here!”
The black bean scampered in with a bag of takeout. “I’ll eat and then sleep.”
“Nevermind, I’ll pass.”
Tonight’s late-night snack was fried chicken with milk tea. Before even opening the bag, a faint aroma of spiced chicken wafted in the air, hyping the black bean up further, which violently tore open the knotted bag, donned disposable gloves, took a huge bite of the chicken, and gulped down some milk tea, purring as its ears flopped in bliss.
Ning Chu’s nose twitched, watching the black bean with eager eyes.
“Hey, sis, you want some?”
“No, I’m not a chicken fan.”
Her gaze returned to the computer screen, but her legs were anxiously bouncing beneath the table.
She found an anime to watch, but her mind was nowhere near the plot, her eyes darting occasionally back to the black bean.
“Here.” The black bean offered her a piece of chicken. “Just say you want it! I’m not protective of my food!”
“……”
Ning Chu wordlessly took a bite of chicken.
After finishing one episode of the anime, the black bean leisurely wrapped up its late-night snack, cleaned up the mess, and light-footedly headed towards the bathroom.
A moment later, after washing up, it burrowed into the covers, poking out just its head. “Sis! Sleep with me!”
“I’m not tired, you go ahead.”
“Aw~ turn off the lights.”
Pulling the curtains and switching off the lights, the room plunged into darkness. Ning Chu even lowered the brightness on her computer screen, putting on headphones to avoid disturbing the black bean’s sleep.
She anxiously fixated on her screen, using the reflection to keep an eye on the black bean until finally, through her headphones, she heard the cute snores from the black bean.
Almost immediately, she sprang up but quickly tiptoed, carefully making her way to the wardrobe to grab a set of clothes for going out.
Then, she stealthily opened the door, poking her head out to check the direction of the main bedroom.
Hmm, enough time had passed; her mother had to be sound asleep.
Plus, she’d played Mahjong all night last night and hadn’t caught up on sleep during the day. She was definitely out like a light.
Ning Chu glanced back at the black bean, slowly closing the door with barely a sound.
Stepping out of the study, her feelings began to calm down a little as she rushed towards the front door, quickly slipping on her shoes and opening it.
“Click!”
The door was locked! Starting with a forceful pull, it emitted a soft noise that froze her in place, sending shivers down her spine, paralyzing her for what felt like an eternity.
Fortunately, nothing stirred from the main bedroom.
Ning Chu sighed in relief, gently unlocking the door and hurriedly escaping into the night.
…
At the rental apartment, Wen Yang had finished washing the bedding and was all set to sleep.
As a man, after experiencing that first time, the memories lingered—Ning Chu twisting her waist, trying to take him in—but now they were apart, and no amount of fantasizing could remedy that.
He felt a flicker of fear after last night; realizing that given his stamina, Ning Chu’s petite frame may have had a tough go. He half-wondered if she might’ve even bled, but a succubus was a succubus—they had an undeniable knack for this stuff.
Lying in bed, sleep eluded him.
Thoughts of the silver patterns on Ning Chu’s abdomen and her curvy outline consumed him…
Suddenly, a faint sound at the door pulled him from his daydream.
The images shattered in his mind, and he instinctively looked up, catching a whiff of that sweet succubus scent.
Sure enough, the door opened, revealing Ning Chu’s blushing face. “You’re still awake?”
“What are you doing here?”
“I… couldn’t sleep, came to type a bit…”
She said, taking off her shoes, shutting the door, and crawling onto the bed, lifting her b*tt up and inching toward Wen Yang.
“Hey! I just came to type—don’t lick my ear! That tickles~”
