Chapter 350: Withdrawal Symptoms
Ning Chu woke up, her brain still a bit foggy.
She instinctively reached out beside her but only grabbed air, missing that warm, solid arm.
With sleepy eyes staring at the ceiling, she recalled the scene from last night before bed and let out a helpless sigh.
It felt like, under the prodding of Lily and Yan Xinya, she had recounted a first-person short story about the Little Emperor Wen.
She went into detail, from sensations to positions, even the aftermath cleanup…
Thank goodness one was a succubus and the other a mischievous wolf girl, neither of them being your typical good girls. Those two were wide-eyed, their mouths agape like little “O’s,” who knows? They might end up being top-tier juice squeezers in the future.
Wait, not “might”…
“Is it normal for friends to chat about such spicy topics?” Ning Chu mumbled to herself, perplexed. “Shouldn’t I find some normal people to be friends with?”
Look where she ended up! Plummeting into this situation, spiraling into femininity—thanks a lot, Lily and Yan Xinya!
They really contributed to her downfall!
From transforming her into a girl to having Wen Yang confess to being her boyfriend, they even tried to introduce her to “little toys” to drag her into a rabbit hole…
These two were like chaos incarnate!
What sort of troublemakers are they?
Ning Chu angrily thumped her quilt a couple of times but soon lost her steam.
Well, honestly, this setup wasn’t so bad… Sure, she got handed over to a succubus and, oh boy, probably one day she’d find herself knocked up…
But at least it beat her past life of no mother, a streetwise older brother, and not a single trustworthy friend in sight.
With her eyes a bit sore and puffy, she curled up with her quilt, dreamy-eyed and half-asleep.
After not sleeping well the night before, she finally dozed off only to dream of sneaking around in the boys’ dormitory bathroom with Wen Yang—while roommates lingered outside! Talk about a thrill! Made her need a shower afterward.
It had been ages since she felt so exhausted and miserable. Usually, after scamming free meals, she was always full of energy.
In her hazy state, she fell back into light sleep. When she finally stumbled awake again, sunshine was pouring into the guest room, and the lively sound of Yan Xinya could be heard from the living room.
She was too lazy to move, feeling utterly drained.
When she lifted her arm to grab her mobile phone, she bumped into a smooth, round object.
Confused, she turned to look and spotted the little toy that Lily had given her the night before…
Uh-oh! Feeling a bit flustered!
Ning Chu restrained her peculiar thoughts just in time, only for Lily to knock on the door and peek in.
“Woke up yet?”
Panicking, she shoved the object back into her blanket, her face instantly flushed.
“Looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.” Lily caught the tail end of her hiding antics and seemed to misunderstand, backing away quietly and closing the door.
“Wait, that’s not—”
Ning Chu bolted upright, but she was too late; she could only hear Lily’s footsteps retreating.
She wasn’t that desperate! There was no way she’d be playing with toys so early in the morning!
Her mobile phone buzzed right then, and she picked it up to see a message from Lily.
“Need a big toy? I’m worried I can’t satisfy you.”
“NO! Beat it!”
Lily sent a meme of a cute b*tt wiggling on the bed.
“…”
Fine, let’s just accept that last night was a total embarrassment.
Ning Chu sighed. She still didn’t know why she got so carried away last night, clearly blabbing everything under cover of darkness.
Rubbing her eyes, she stretched and got out of bed, yawning all the way.
In the corner of the living room, Yan Xinya was using a treadmill, trying to burn off some energy. The treadmill looked really high-end but was only used by Lily as a place to dump stuff and hang clothes.
Lily was bent over, her chin resting on her hand, arranging several breakfast plates, trying to make a nice presentation.
Upon seeing Ning Chu, she raised her head, her expression cool: “Up already?”
“Stop messing around.”
“Breakfast,” she said, pushing a plate toward Ning Chu.
On the plate was a cup of hot milk, a perfectly cooked steak, and a couple of decorative cherries and flower petals. The black pepper sauce had a starry swoosh. This plate would easily fetch three hundred in a fancy restaurant.
“You can arrange food too?” Ning Chu asked, surprised, plopping onto a high stool, swinging her feet in the air.
“Nothing better to do at home.”
The steak was already cut. She picked up a piece with her chopsticks, and the rich aroma of meat and fat burst in her mouth—so good it made her squint her eyes; her mouth curved up in a smile without her permission.
“So delicious! Just a bit greasy.”
“M9?~”
“Wow, must be rich to have such good beef for breakfast.”
Seeing Ning Chu’s satisfied expression, a rare, faint smile broke through Lily’s icy facade.
“If only my brother wasn’t such an idiot and acted smarter~ then I could enjoy meals like this every day.” Ning Chu sighed wistfully.
Lily could handle chores and cook, a virtuous girl with a cheeky edge—what guy wouldn’t love a succubus like that?!
But her brother was such a dork, he even blocked Lily.
That little virgin! Doesn’t he have the guts to date a girl online?!
“Coming, coming!”
Yan Xinya hopped off the treadmill, her sun-kissed skin glistening with sweat as she wiped her face with a towel and jogged over. “That looks amazing!”
She was only wearing a sports bra, showing off her waist, and her toned abs and muscles were the envy of anyone looking.
Ning Chu discreetly sucked in her slightly protruding belly to make it flat.
With the air conditioning on, even after her workout, Yan Xinya didn’t seem cold. While eating breakfast, she asked, “So where are we going today? Is your foot feeling better?”
“Yeah, it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“Not in the mood to go out.”
The Wolf Girl looked up at Lily and grumbled, “Why are you so homebody-ish~? We came here to keep you company, and you just want to stay in and watch TV?!”
“Movies are fine too.”
Ning Chu chimed in, “Right, we could watch TV, movies, or even play games—there’s plenty of fun to be had at home~”
“You two are such homebodies!” Yan Xinya complained, “I’d go nuts staying inside all day; I just don’t get how you two can stand it.”
“Playing games and binge-watching shows makes the time fly by.”
“Well, you can’t do that all day long…”
Who knew who could actually binge-watch idol dramas in a school dorm all day?
Though Ning Chu had only stayed in the girls’ dorm a few times, she had heard Lily grumble about how Yan Xinya would sit in front of the computer for fifteen hours straight just to watch shows.
After breakfast and a shower, Ning Chu leaned against the sofa, feeling completely lifeless.
Eating, sleeping, and flirting…
It seemed like those were the only things in her head now. Any one of them missing would make life a lot more unbearable.
She had come to hang out with Lily and clear her mind of all those pesky thoughts.
But it felt like she just picked up more of them, and they itched at her thoughts like an irritating tickle.
Maybe this was what they called withdrawal symptoms?
