403. Sisters Flower
3/12
Wen Yang had practically memorized the royal texts written by his little author. Although he couldn’t remember every detail, he had a fuzzy outline of the plots for each short story.
If he remembered correctly, Ning Chu had written a story about twin sisters in the student council: one was as cold as ice, and the other was as fiery as the sun. The two sisters were the president and vice president, and they both fell head over heels for the male protagonist when he signed up for the student council.
The cold-as-ice elder sister was manageable enough; she had a serious case of being reserved and wouldn’t be too proactive.
But the fiery younger sister was always dragging her sister along for a free ride and turning them into cream buns…
Whenever there’s a meeting related to students, the student council would definitely be involved, meaning Wen Yang would probably run into one of those sisters.
Though the encounter might not match the dramatic scenes from the stories, the outcome would likely be similar.
“So why write royal texts?”
During lunch, Wen Yang and Ning Chu let out their thoughts almost simultaneously.
But right after, Ning Chu frowned and huffed, “If I don’t write, who knows, this world might not even have you!”
“Right, right!”
Wen Yang didn’t truly believe his existence depended on her stories.
“Besides, you don’t have to go. Just let Shao Qing or Wang Jie take care of it.”
That Shao Qing guy… There’s a high probability he wouldn’t go even if the world ended. He’d rather sit in the dorm, waiting to drink water and then pee, than do anything like this.
As for Wang Jie, that gaming hermit would only leave his lair if his girlfriend dragged him out. His life revolves around a straight line between the teaching building and the dormitory—there’s no way he’d willingly attend a meeting.
Realizing these two were useless, Ning Chu fell silent for a moment, then suggested, “How about we just don’t go?”
“Not going should be fine, right?”
She keenly detected the hesitation in Wen Yang’s voice; her pretty peach blossom eyes narrowed, glimmering dangerously, “Sounds like you’re quite looking forward to the sisters’ president, huh~”
“No way! How could that be?”
Wen Yang firmly denied it.
Even though he had a girlfriend, it was still perfectly normal for a man to have a few fantasies in his mind, right?
“I’m just worried that ghost lady might hold a grudge and give us a hard time.”
“And what if the meeting is really important? Missing it could spell trouble.”
“That’s true… Women hold grudges, especially if it’s a female ghost.” Ning Chu frowned and mumbled, “I’ve experienced that with Lily! She’s so ruthless~”
All she did was accidentally cause Lily to face social d*ath in front of her uncle and aunt, exposing Lily’s true nature, and wouldn’t you know it? She gifted her a huge toy right at the start of the semester! Resulting in her being squished between two cream buns at night and nearly unable to get out of bed the next day.
“Let’s just go. We’ll run into them sooner or later, and it’s better to prepare now than be caught off guard later.”
The school might be big, but if they were in the same campus, they would definitely bump into each other during their four years of college.
Wen Yang nodded with understanding, “Okay.”
“I’ll go with you, to prevent any unnecessary thoughts~”
“Even if I had any, I wouldn’t act on them.”
Ning Chu looked shocked and angry, her brows furrowing, “You actually dare to have any?!~”
“No, no, no!”
“Oh!”
She had once been a man herself, and could guess a good portion of Wen Yang’s inner thoughts, but didn’t really care.
In these situations, actions matter more than feelings. If it were about feelings, there wouldn’t be a single decent person in this world—everyone would be a pervert or a freak.
Unfortunately, Wen Yang was the male lead who could charm even a succubus. Otherwise, he’d be in a safe position.
After eating half a bowl of rice, Ning Chu casually pushed the rest and the plate in front of Wen Yang.
“Not eating anymore?”
“Mm, I’m full. Plus, it’s not that good…”
“You’re going to end up getting fat on me.”
Her eyes lit up, nodding vigorously, “Right! If I turn you into a pig, maybe those bad women will stop eyeing you!”
“And then you’ll just kick me aside because I’m too fat?”
“Not necessarily~”
Unfortunately, Ning Chu didn’t have rotund men on her preference list.
She yawned, sleepily rubbing her teary eyes, propping her chin on her hands, gazing longingly at Wen Yang, who was devouring his food like there was no tomorrow.
Before she knew it, she had gotten used to watching Wen Yang’s eating broadcasts, inexplicably feeling joyful and at peace.
Her mind contemplated how to tackle the impending student council sisters plot at the right time and in the right way, but as time passed, her coherent thoughts began to muddy, her eyelids feeling unbearably heavy, and her head drooped suddenly, startling her wide awake.
Wen Yang noticed her bobbing head and glanced at the time, “It’s barely twelve-thirty. If you head to the girls’ dorm now, you can still catch about an hour’s worth of nap.”
“But the meeting…”
“I can go on my own. You just concentrate on catching up on sleep.”
Even if those two alcoholics had only bickered for half an hour last night, it still completely shattered Ning Chu’s sleepiness, causing her to stay awake until four or five in the morning without having a late-night snack. She was severely sleep-deprived.
“Fine… but…” Ning Chu worriedly cautioned, “Keep an eye on the younger sister; she’ll be more proactive and might ambush you!”
“I suspect they’ve already set their sights on you, especially with how much attention you got during the sports meeting.”
“I’ve seen their photos on the school forum. They’re pretty good-looking, not much different from Lily. The power of two sisters combined is even stronger…”
The more she talked, the more anxious she became, fearing that Wen Yang wouldn’t withstand the temptation.
But Wen Yang responded flatly, “Once they’re pretty to a certain degree, looks don’t matter anymore; it all comes down to experience points.”
“That’s true.”
Ning Chu felt reassured instantly.
Her entire being was filled with Wen Yang’s experience points; it had been a subtle influence from being together for so long, not to mention that Wen Yang was the embodiment of the male protagonist she fantasized about in her writings.
“Then I’ll head to find Xin Ya and Lily?”
“Yeah, I’ll finish eating and head to the library, then go to the meeting when it’s time.”
“See ya~”
Ning Chu stretched, yawned, and rose from her seat, eager to dash toward the girls’ dorm.
Since she had been assigned to Yan Xin Ya’s dorm, paying the rent for off-campus housing just to sneak in for a nap wasn’t too much to ask, was it?
She jogged to the girls’ dorm, confidently entering through the front door.
There was a time she used to sneak in, afraid of being reported and receiving school warnings, but now she was a legitimate part of this place.
At the end of the first-floor corridor, Ning Chu opened the dorm door and peered inside.
As usual, it was a mess, with a faint scent of cosmetics lingering.
“Is anyone here?”
Ning Chu stared at the empty dorm in a daze, “Isn’t it lunchtime?”
She wandered further inside, her gaze rolling around until she finally locked onto the bed with a prominent mound under the blanket.
Getting a bit closer, she could faintly hear seductive, tempting breaths.
A small head adorned with peachy hair peeked out, and Lily looked at her, visibly relieved, “It’s you…”
“Doing bad things in broad daylight? Didn’t even lock the door.”
Accidentally stumbling into Lily’s clandestine business, Ning Chu felt surprisingly calm; only a slight embarrassment colored her cheeks, giving her a hint of a blush.
How she missed her innocent self back in the day…
