435. Birthday
The sky was always gloomy, obscuring the sunlight.
The drizzle continued into the next day, and the air was filled with a dampness that made everyone feel uncomfortable.
“Good morning! Ning Chu!”
The Husky was as lively as ever, bounding over and hugging Ning Chu’s arm.
Ning Chu, with a face full of despair, was rubbed against by the doggo, and her cheeks felt a bit sore.
“What’s up? Feeling down?”
“No, I’m okay~”
“Then why don’t you push me away?”
She slammed her hand down on Yan Xinya’s face, pushing the Wolf Girl aside.
“Waaah~ Ning Chu doesn’t love me anymore~”
“Get a grip.”
Ning Chu rolled her eyes at the always-crazy Yan Xinya and asked with concern, “How’s that octopus you guys are raising?”
“It looks sickly and hasn’t moved at all~ I suspect it needs some salt in the water. Don’t octopuses live in the sea?”
“Hmm… that makes sense.”
Her mood instantly lightened.
Even if that octopus was a Tentacle Monster, at this rate, she feared those girls would end up killing it in just a few days.
“I even caught two cockroaches to feed it last night, but it wouldn’t eat those either.” Yan Xinya sighed. “We’ll just have to wait for the little fish and shrimp I ordered online.”
“Catching cockroaches, huh…”
“I was wearing gloves!”
Ning Chu shifted uncomfortably, trying to distance herself from the Wolf Girl.
Seriously, who grabs cockroaches by hand? So gross!
She glanced over at Lily, only to find her resting her chin on her hand, staring blankly at the blackboard. “Lily, what are you thinking about?”
“Nothing.”
For some reason, Lily looked considerably prettier than usual.
That sly girl must have secretly put on makeup again!
Ning Chu leaned over the desk, casually flipping through a textbook while contemplating whether she should become a Magical Girl.
There were definitely risks, but she could team up with Qian Qian. Two Magical Girls against one Tentacle Monster? Their odds would be quite high!
Better than letting those clueless girls get tricked by the Black Cat, unknowingly becoming Magical Girls and turning into breeding grounds…
As for the benefits… having magic would be super awesome! Plus, she’d have a body stronger than a Succubus! No more worries about fainting in the future!
But somehow, she felt that Black Cat was sneakily up to no good, eager to recruit more Magical Girls.
Maybe it was just a mischievous cat, enjoying watching the chaos unfold.
“Why do your horns look bigger?”
A shadow suddenly loomed in front of her, and a teasing voice came from above. Ning Chu raised her head and saw Zhang Shaoqing standing at her desk, reaching out to grab her horns.
She instinctively huddled away, but it was already too late.
“Did you buy a new one?”
But Wen Yang timely grabbed Zhang Shaoqing’s hand, frowning angrily. “Don’t go poking around.”
Zhang Shaoqing awkwardly withdrew his hand and muttered, “It’s just a hair accessory, why are you so worked up?”
He then sat down next to Wang Jie, curiously peering at Ning Chu’s horns.
They seemed a bit bigger than before…?
They looked so realistic! Wait, they even grow?
“I changed it; the one from yesterday is being washed.” Ning Chu had already anticipated this moment and calmly explained while secretly kicking Wen Yang’s calf with her little shoe under the desk.
A bit too reactive, don’t you think?
Let him touch for a couple of seconds! Just avoid the base of the horns.
Wen Yang, however, remained unmoved. He didn’t want any other guy touching his girlfriend.
He felt even more possessive about the Little Succubus, as he would get jealous if any other girl got too close to her.
“It feels like you can’t keep this a secret for long~”
Ning Chu leaned forward, draping her arm over Wen Yang’s shoulder, whispering in his ear.
The breath of the Little Succubus carried a hint of youthful fragrance, making Wen Yang’s earlobes turn slightly red as he awkwardly scratched his nose.
“Yeah, this guy has a habit of getting too handsy. What if one day he accidentally hurts you?”
“Shouldn’t we just spell it out? So he doesn’t keep getting handsy.”
Ning Chu shot a glance at Zhang Shaoqing, easily spotting his eagerness.
Is he stupid?
He doesn’t listen! What a total thick-skinned idiot!
The teacher had entered the classroom, slowly preparing to take attendance.
Ning Chu sniffled, leaning over her desk, thinking about how to approach Zhang Shaoqing.
She had already given him a heads-up about her horns beforehand, so he shouldn’t be too surprised, right?
“Are you catching a cold?”
Wen Yang perceptively noticed her earlier nose rubbing.
“Maybe a bit? I might have caught a chill last night.”
“Wear more clothes and don’t wear a skirt.”
With the temperature fluctuation and high humidity, it was the easiest time to catch the flu.
“These yoga pants are warm enough…” Ning Chu suddenly heard her name and instinctively looked up, “Yes!”
Raising her hand to show the teacher where she was, she then lowered her head and whispered, “Wen Yang, isn’t your birthday coming up soon?”
“Birthday?” Wen Yang paused, “Not really?”
“I saw your birthday on the calendar is next week, right?”
“Seems like it?”
Ning Chu pressed further, “What’s your lunar birthday? We usually celebrate that around here.”
“Dunno…”
“Dunno?”
“Nobody ever celebrated my birthday when I was a kid.”
The thick-skinned fool chimed in, “Birthday? Who’s having a birthday? I’ll take him to a Maid Café!”
Ning Chu shot Zhang Shaoqing a glare. “Get lost!”
“A proper Maid Café! No takeout! Just what kind of trash is running through your mind?”
Her voice dropped a little: “Next time, call us.”
Oh wow! She has never been to a Maid Café in her life! If it’s a proper one, she absolutely has to experience it!
It’s definitely better than the bar or KTV!
The tall, rich, handsome guy patted his chest with a grin. “I’ll treat next time!”
“Deal then~”
After spontaneously setting a Maid Café plan, Ning Chu pulled Wen Yang along to continue asking, “If you can’t remember your lunar birthday, how about celebrating your solar birthday? Do you want anything?”
“Hmm…” Wen Yang thought for a moment and couldn’t come up with anything he wanted.
Having a pretty Little Succubus girlfriend, attending classes, reading books, and duoing with her at night, life was so good that he was nearly losing all material desires.
Sure, he was a bit broke, but that wasn’t a problem for now.
“No need for gifts, right? I didn’t give you anything last time either.”
“Last time…”
Last time, Wen Yang had gifted Ning Chu a silver ring that still lay in the luggage compartment of her suitcase, along with the Male Protagonist’s token.
“How about I get you a matching ring too?”
She thought maybe she could also give Wen Yang a ring so they could wear them together. That way, when people saw them at school, they’d know they were a couple and it would deter those lurking Bad Women!
