475. Gather Up
As the clock ticked close to nine, a girl with wolf ears and a swirling gray tail burst excitedly out of the school gates.
Under the massive banyan tree at the entrance, she looked around eagerly, but her companions were nowhere in sight. Frustration painted her face as she halted, glancing back at the pure and demure succubus in a white dress.
“It’s nine o’clock! Not a soul in sight!”
Lily strolled over to Yan Xinya’s side, her face as expressionless as an iceberg. She coolly replied, “Mhm.”
“What about Ning Chu and Wen Yang? And where are Shao Qing and Qian Qian? Bunch of flakers!”
The wolf girl was like a bubbling pot of enthusiasm, especially since it was mating season, making her even more restless than usual. After just a few minutes of standing still, she lost her patience and began pacing in circles under the tree, muttering, “It’s nine o’clock already! Where are they? Where are they?”
She was like a child with ants in her pants, tugging at the banyan’s roots and kicking empty milk cartons on the ground.
Soon, she spotted a bus rolling in from afar. “They’re here! They’re here!”
As the bus pulled up, Yan Xinya eagerly watched the back door, and then, the familiar sight of the red-haired girl with twin ponytails came into view.
“Xia Xia! Over here!”
“Where’s Ning Chu?”
Just as Xia Xia hopped off the bus, a big dog bounded toward her, startling her momentarily, before she pointed back at the bus.
Yan Xinya turned to see Ning Chu stepping off the bus, gracefully strutting in her high heels.
“Wow~ Ning Chu looks super elegant today~”
Hearing the wolf girl, Ning Chu lifted her nose with pride. “Of course~”
She couldn’t walk as briskly in her uncomfortable heels as she usually did, but hey, elegance and grace were the name of the game, right?
“Is everyone here now?”
Wen Yang followed closely behind Ning Chu, surveying the area as he asked.
“Still waiting on Shao Qing and Qian Qian.”
He nodded, “Shao Qing just texted. Qian Qian overslept, so he told us to go ahead.”
“Sleeping in~” Ning Chu smirked in amusement.
Clearly, there had been an epic battle on Qian Qian’s side last night, but while Qian Qian was a catgirl, she could recharge her energy without totally crashing. Meanwhile, Shao Qing was probably too weak to even crawl out of bed.
“Shall we head straight to the train station?” Yan Xinya checked the time, “We have plenty of time for the ten o’clock ticket.”
“How about breakfast first?” Xia Xia patted her tummy. “I’m kinda hungry.”
Ning Chu had already had a hearty breakfast while waking Wen Yang up, so she wasn’t feeling too peckish but nodded anyway, “Alright, let’s find a place to eat.”
Most places off-campus were closed in the morning, but the group eventually found a small diner specializing in breakfast.
Inside, some delivery workers were hustling around, tables piled high with packed takeout.
The five of them entered, found a seat, and placed their orders. Ning Chu and Wen Yang sat together, fiddling with their phones while occasionally glancing at Lily.
As fellow succubi, ever since Lily started subtly wearing light makeup to classes, they had entered a silent rivalry.
Sure, Lily was made up today too, but it was clear that Ning Chu was winning this round!
They were about the same height, but Ning Chu had deliberately worn heels today; what was once a mere five-foot-six now soared a few inches higher, leaving Lily trailing behind!
Lily was trying to sneak looks at her with a hint of envy, making Ning Chu’s smugness soar.
“I don’t get what you two are fighting about.” Wen Yang chuckled, leaning in to whisper, “You two get along so well, and you used to be a guy.”

Ning Chu’s smug expression froze.
Right! I’ve only been a girl for half a year! Why am I comparing myself to Lily, the original succubus?!
Lily was prettier, had a better figure, and was more “succubus”-like! Trying to outshine her in looks just felt wrong!
After a moment of silence, she kicked Wen Yang under the table in annoyance, “Mind your own business!”
At this point, there was no going back after becoming so feminine. As long as she didn’t get pregnant and have a child, it was all good.
“Did you know Lily’s place is huge? Over 200 or 300 square meters! She has four single bedrooms!”
Yan Xinya was trying to sort out room assignments: “Let’s figure out how to divide them. Lily can have her own room, and Ning Chu can share with me…”
“Why not have Ning Chu share with Wen Yang?” Xia Xia interrupted her planning.
“That won’t work! How would we sleep at night?”
“……”
Ning Chu, blushing and irritated, shot back, “Don’t be silly! That’s impossible!”
She wasn’t that desperate! And she definitely wasn’t shameless enough to fool around in someone else’s home with Wen Yang!
What if they accidentally made noise and everyone heard? She would totally d*e of social d*ath in this little group.
“You are a succubus with a boyfriend! My assumption is perfectly reasonable!”
She shot a glare at the wolf girl, just as the waiter arrived with their breakfast. Quickly shifting the topic, she exclaimed, “Let’s eat up, or we’ll miss the train!”
Breakfast consisted of simple soy milk, fried dough sticks, and deep-fried cakes—the quintessential breakfast spread in the country.
Ning Chu added some sugar to her soy milk, ripped the big dough stick into pieces, and dunked them into the milk, saying, “Let’s call the rideshare. Two cars should be enough.”
“Okay.” Wen Yang immediately pulled out his phone to order a car.
“By the way, didn’t Wang Jie take the whole week off?” Yan Xinya asked while using her phone, “What’s he been up to? Haven’t seen him in ages.”
“Something happened at home.” Ning Chu hadn’t expected the shy nerd would garner the wolf girl’s attention, “I thought he was totally invisible.”
“How could he be? Every Monday he looks like a zombie! Teasing him about having a weak bladder is a run-of-the-mill event!”
While the wolf girl never openly teased Wang Jie, she always perked up her ears to hear the jokes Shao Qing and Wen Yang made at his expense.
“Seriously, what happened? Sounds serious?” Xia Xia chimed in, intrigued.
“His personal matters, I’ll spare the details,” Ning Chu shrugged. “He should be back next Monday.”
She and Wen Yang had been keeping an eye on it; after Wang Jie borrowed money and vanished to find his girlfriend, he disappeared from the radar. Every time they inquired online, he managed to dodge the questions.
If it weren’t for the fact that Shao Qing drove him off, she’d suspect he’d run away with the cash.
“Eat fast, the car is almost here.”
“Already?”
“Just three hundred meters away.”
At Wen Yang’s urging, Ning Chu quickly gulped down her soy milk, stuffing the softened dough stick into her mouth in a panic.
Wen Yang hesitated and asked, “Your lipstick’s all gone, that okay?”
“Huh?” Ning Chu turned to Lily, her face filled with concern, “Is that alright?”
“Yeah, it’s fine…”
