### 488. Back Again
“Why hasn’t Qian Qian gotten up yet? The sun’s practically roasting her backside!”
Yan Xinya slouched on the bed without an ounce of grace, her feet propped up on the coffee table, scrolling through videos on her mobile phone.
She had a restless spirit; lying there for just a bit had already driven her to the brink of insanity from boredom.
“What about Ning Chu?”
Lily strolled in, balancing a plate of omelets, looking confused.
“She’s probably been dragged into the bedroom by Wen Yang for some ‘inappropriate activities’~”
Yan Xinya’s words were hardly believed, especially coming from the “Wolf Girl.” She bent down to grab a few bottles of milk from under the coffee table and turned to peek at the guest bedroom.
Just then, Ning Chu burst out of the room, cheeks flushed and looking like she had just been caught in an embarrassing moment.
“Breakfast is ready.” Lily pointed to the spread on the table.
“Okay~ I’ll go call Qian Qian,” Ning Chu replied as she headed towards another guest room, asking, “What are we doing today? Should we go out and wander around?”
“Sounds good.”
Ning Chu gently knocked on the door, but when she heard no sound from inside, she opened the door to peek in.
Inside the cramped guest room, Qian Qian was sprawled on the bed, completely oblivious to her arrival.
“Wow, she’s really out cold…”
Ning Chu hesitated, unsure if she should wake her. It was a holiday, after all, and there were no scheduled group activities, so letting Qian Qian sleep a bit longer didn’t seem like a big deal. She hated waking up early during vacations herself.
But after a moment of consideration, something felt off.
Qian Qian looked sound asleep, yet her face was flushed, her eyelashes quivering slightly, and her breathing seemed rather irregular.
Suspicious! Why is she pretending to be asleep?
Ning Chu’s mind, being that of a succubus, took a weird turn, her lips curling into a mischievous smile as she crept into the room, approaching Qian Qian’s bedside.
Just as she was about to do something sneaky, a hand suddenly grabbed the tip of her skirt’s tail.
“Ah~!”
A shock of tingling electricity shot up her spine, rendering her momentarily weak and causing her to lean forward onto the bed.
“Hey? You reacted pretty strongly,” Qian Qian exclaimed, startled. She quickly let go of the succubus’s tail. “I just wanted to see what it felt like; you never let me touch it…”
Ning Chu gasped for air, her alluring face turning beet red, lips parted in shock.
“Are you okay, Ning Chu? Sorry~”
After a brief pause, Ning Chu finally managed to gather herself and clumsily flipped over, propping herself up on the edge of the bed.
“Do you not know not to mess with a succubus’s tail?”
And especially not sneak attacks! There are rules, you know!
The sensitivity of her tail was outrageous. Even on days when she had no interest, Wen Yang could get her in the mood just by giving it a gentle tug or a little rub at the tip.
“It’s painful…”
Qian Qian chuckled sheepishly, although Ning Chu’s reaction didn’t seem painful at all.
“Get up for breakfast; I need to use the bathroom.”
Ning Chu hurried to the bathroom, needing to tidy up before Yan Xinya found out what had happened.
When she returned to the living room, she saw that Yan Xinya and Wen Yang had already demolished half the omelet, while Lily sat gracefully on one corner of the sofa, watching her creations being devoured, a smile brightening her usually stoic face.
“Try some.”
She looked up at Ning Chu, pointing to the omelet.
“It’s delicious! Lily is amazing~” Yan Xinya mumbled with a mouthful, cheeks puffed out and words a bit jumbled. “Lily, marry me! Don’t settle for some guy!”
“No way.”
“Lily doesn’t love me anymore~”
Wolf Girl’s antics made Qian Qian cover her mouth, her wide eyes filled with curiosity as she watched the two. But Ning Chu understood both of their orientations were perfectly normal.
Especially for the succubus; she probably couldn’t resist a quality male.
Ning Chu grabbed a small stool and plopped down next to Wen Yang, picking up an omelet with her bare hands and popping it into her mouth.
Mmm~ it tastes a bit strange but even better than expected~
It was just an egg wrap with sausage and pork jerky, nothing fancy…
Of course it’s delicious, it’s made by Lily!
The group gathered around the coffee table chatted excitedly about their camping trip at the beach that evening. Yan Xinya was particularly animated, already imagining herself grilling away with a barbecue setup.
“Does Lily have a barbecue? If not, we should buy one at the supermarket along with some meat~”
“Just imagine eating barbecued food while the sea breeze blows, and when we’re tired, we can just collapse in the tent. Sounds perfect~”
Qian Qian looked a bit worried, “But what if it’s really cold?”
“Then we can all huddle together to keep warm! And if we can build a bonfire, even better!”
Ning Chu didn’t join in their discussion, focusing on her breakfast, but after finishing just two omelets, her plate was already empty.
Most of it had been gobbled up by Yan Xinya.
Her stomach still grumbled. She pursed her lips, but Wen Yang pushed the last omelet toward her mouth, “Here.”
“Aren’t you going to eat it?”
“You go ahead.”
Without extending her hand, Ning Chu simply bit into the omelet from Wen Yang’s fingers and asked as she chewed, “Have you ever been camping before?”
“Nope.”
“Can’t say I’m surprised…”
Yawning sleepily, she rubbed her eyes, just as her mobile phone in her coat pocket started buzzing.
Pulling out the phone and glancing at it, she stood up and said, “I’m going to take a call.”
It was her mother.
Ning Chu stepped into the hallway, leaning against the wall to answer.
“Hello? Mom~ What’s up?” Her voice instinctively softened, carrying a hint of playfulness.
When alone with Wen Yang, her voice would sweeten even more, dripping with seduction.
“You’re not coming back for the holidays, and you still won’t let me call you?”
Her mother teased her cheerfully, chatting about family matters.
The conversation was nothing more than reminders to sleep early, check on her grades, and to eat more fruit…
But then the tone shifted slightly as her mother expressed concern, “You need to exercise some restraint. What if Wen Yang can’t handle you and runs off?”
“Uh…”
Wait a minute, isn’t it the other way around?
Ning Chu understood her mother was worried she might encounter another scumbag like the one who abandoned his wife and child back in the day, and with a sigh of resignation, she replied, “Mom~ you’re thinking too much of me!”
I’m not that formidable, not at all.
“What brought this up suddenly?”
Her mother’s cheerful tone turned serious, “He’s… back…”
“Ah?”
Ning Chu froze, “Who? My dad?”
“Mm.”
That father of hers—the one connected by bl**d? Why is he coming back now?
