Trapped in Paradise – Chapter 480

500. Enthusiastic Grandmother

Grandpa’s house was nestled in a bustling village in the countryside. As you strolled through the village, you could see charming little standalone villas everywhere, yet Grandpa’s place blended in rather unremarkably amidst them.

It was a three-story self-built villa with a modest garden enclosed by a two-person high wall, filled to the brim with garlic, flowers, and an impressively large black dog.

Riding in the family’s countryside electric tricycle, they soon arrived at the doorstep of the little villa.

As usual, the gate of the wall stood wide open. Mom led the group without hesitation, striding into the garden, and shouted, “Dad! Mom! Are you home?”

Ning Chu trailed behind, glancing around at the scene that perfectly mirrored her past life. Her eyes quickly landed on the big black dog tethered by a chain.

“Little Black?”

“Woof!”

Unlike most people in this world who were blessed with beauty enhancements, this large black dog was a doppelgänger of the one from her past life, still sporting its adorably goofy look.

The moment the dog spotted Ning Chu, it began howling excitedly, wagging its tail as if trying to leave behind an afterimage, thrilled to jump at her, but the chain held it back at its neck, forcing it to stand on its hind legs.

Ning Chu cautiously approached, uncertain if this dog actually recognized her.

But as she stepped closer, the black dog affectionately nudged her calf with its head.

“Stop playing with the dog, it’s dirty!” Mom shot her a glance, continuing to walk inside while shouting, “Dad! Ning Chu brought her boyfriend to see you!”

“Ning Chu, I found this dog when I was little! My mom wouldn’t let me keep it, so I left it with Grandpa!” Ning Chu squatted down, petting the black dog’s head and looking up at Wen Yang standing next to her. “I found him in kindergarten… so he’s about thirteen or fourteen years old now, right?”

“That’s pretty old!”

“Yeah, he’ll probably pass on in a couple of years.”

She lowered her head, gazing at the big black dog, commanding, “Sit!”

“Woof!”

“Still as obedient as ever~ I used to take him on a rampage through this village! No one dared to bully me! Not even the geese!”

“Riding on a dog’s coattails, huh?”

“Exactly!”

Ning Chu felt quite proud and justified.

Seeing familiar faces and things from the past that had already passed away fill her with warmth, she stroked the dog’s head, sighing inwardly.

Coming to this world really felt like a divine reward~

The only cost now seemed like it was just a change in how she lived, which seriously made her life feel more abundant.

“Ning Chu? Isn’t today Monday? Why are you here?”

Wen Yang turned to the source of the voice and spotted a cheerful woman who looked to be in her forties with a pair of horns sprouting from her head, happily strolling into the garden.

“Grandma.”

He greeted along with Ning Chu.

Grandma walked a bit closer and quickly noticed the pair of curved horns on Ning Chu’s head, rushing forward in surprise, “You have horns just like mine~ They look beautiful~”

Ning Chu awkwardly rubbed her horns as she stood up, “I didn’t want them! They feel so weird.”

Moreover, people could instantly spot her as the oddity of the family.

Grandma gently reached out to touch Ning Chu’s curved coconut sheep horns, her face glowing with happiness.

“Horns are great! Horns are awesome!”

Wen Yang didn’t have time to ponder what she was going on about and hastily nodded in agreement.

Grandma turned her attention to Wen Yang, eyeing his rosy complexion and sturdy build, and couldn’t help but smile, causing crow’s feet to appear around her eyes.

Then she glanced at Ning Chu, whose face was radiant and skin glistening, noticing that her rear seemed to have filled out even more since the last family gathering around the New Year.

Initially, Grandma had worried that Wen Yang’s large frame might overpower her inexperienced granddaughter, as she was quite petite and delicate.

But now it seemed Ning Chu could not only handle it but had quite an appetite, making her more concerned about Wen Yang’s health.

After all, a succubus’s appetite always grew larger, while a man’s vitality tended to, well, decline with age—an inevitable trade-off.

Grandma kindly held Wen Yang’s hand and gave it a supportive pat on the back: “That’s good, that’s good.”

But Ning Chu, watching the scene unfold, couldn’t hide her slight discontent.

She hadn’t forgotten Grandma was also a succubus, and that this parallel world had absorbed the worldview of the Little Emperor Wen, with Wen Yang being the male lead.

Even though the likelihood of that was absurdly low… in her past life’s conventional worldview, she had heard bizarre rumors about families where everyone contracted AIDS while the husband remained untouched!

“Where’s your mom?”

“She went inside to find Grandpa.”

“Your grandpa is probably upstairs watching TV.” Grandma quickly noticed Ning Chu’s odd behavior and teasingly tapped her on the head, “Are you jealous?”

“Not really…”

Ning Chu bashfully turned her head away.

“What luck, he’s still watching TV…” Grandma took hold of her hand, ushering the trio toward the house, “I’ll get you some of his treasures.”

“Treasures?”

Ning Chu immediately recalled her mother’s admonition before coming here.

She was instructed to ask Grandpa for health supplements to boost Wen Yang’s constitution.

More supplements? Wouldn’t that just lead to her ending up in bed for good?

Even if she survived, her head might explode from sheer euphoria!

Grandma beamed, overly enthusiastic: “We don’t need them anyway, and Grandpa isn’t going to use them. Why not let Wen Yang have them? Your mom’s boyfriend might as well have some too—it’ll help his health.”

Wen Yang awkwardly scratched his nose, feeling that this whole succubus family was oblivious to his capabilities.

He cast a quick glance at Ning Chu, who was obviously fearful yet eager to speak her mind, nearly laughing out loud.

“Have you met your dad?”

As she continued to lead them, Grandma casually inquired.

“Yeah… I hate him.” Ning Chu’s expression turned somber as she lowered her head.

“Definitely not a good person.” Grandma shook her head helplessly, “Who knows what he came back for? Thankfully your mom isn’t foolish and didn’t take him back.”

“Yeah, that uncle is pretty good.”

Curiosity got the best of her as she asked, “What about your brother? What do you think of him?”

“I don’t know, I haven’t asked.”

But her brother had at least met their father when he was little and hadn’t been through the strange experiences she had in her past life.

He’d probably be soft-hearted and accept him, right?

Ning Chu murmured to herself as she followed Grandpa to a secluded room.

Upon opening the door, she was greeted by bottles of high-end liquor Grandpa had collected, the most notable being several transparent jars perched on top.

Liquors she had only seen on TV now lay before her.

What was it? Five-Poison Wine, Snake Wine, and various whip liquors, all broadening her horizons.

“Can we drink that…” she stepped back nervously, “it looks a bit disgusting.”

“Of course you can drink it! Plus, it’s really nourishing~”

Grandma had obviously played the “quality inspector” role before and had fully experienced the benefits of these liquors.

Can drink, yet still nourishing…

Ning Chu felt even more intimidated, glancing at Wen Yang’s eager face, instinctively shrinking her neck.

This could potentially k*ll a succubus!
