91~The Final Elimination Match
Thanks to their excellent reflexes, mages can predict the trajectory of Tillysha’s arrows. Though they can’t guarantee a full dodge, they usually manage to avoid getting hit in vital areas. But when it comes to close combat, things are different.
When the distance is too short, by the time the mage predicts where the blade will chop, the kn*fe has already landed.
The last knight was hurled away, leaving the unprotected mage almost certain to be eliminated.
The little dagger he held provided more comfort than actual defense, powerless against the frenzied slashes and chops from two single-handed blades.
Tillysha’s kn*fe skills might not be top-notch, but they’re more than enough to handle a weak-as-a-lamb mage.
After a series of messy chops, the blade of Yellow Earth struck the mage’s shoulder, but it didn’t penetrate—instead, it bounced off as if hitting a scale-like armor, sending Tillysha’s kn*fe back.
Is this… mage armor??
Noticing the shimmering scales where the blade had struck earlier, Tillysha identified it as the mage armor described in books.
So-called mage armor is a precaution that mages take before combat, painting a layer of armor on their robes using magical ink. More simply put, it’s a protective magic阵 painted with the help of magical potions.
However, this is a highly difficult and demanding process, consuming vast amounts of mental energy. Mage armor magic阵 are one-time-use, meaning not many mages have the ability to perform this task, and even those who can, often don’t bother to.
Compared to traditional armor, mage armor is lightweight, allowing even weak mages to gain certain survival protection without hindering their movements. The downside – it’s too troublesome and costly. What’s more, the mage armor is single-use and can malfunction when damp.
【Forged Blades】will produce different effects based on different casting elements. Unlike light blades, earth blades are tough without carrying any Divine Authority effects, merely providing pure physical cutting.
Realizing her earth blade would not wound the mage, Tillysha glanced upward.
The sunlight was blocked by the valley, making it impossible to cast light blades with just the faint light available.
The retreating mage and Blake slowly regaining composure signaled the loss of this attack opportunity for Tillysha.
Hold on, damp?…
Right, mage armor only stops physical damage and is weak against other elements.
Tillysha took out from her slim waist a bright blue potion covered with frosty ice crystals. She broke the safety seal and poured it on the mage’s head before he got too far.
“Splash!” Glass shards scattered around the mage’s head, the blue liquid flowing down his forehead.
The mage froze momentarily as ice shards formed wherever the blue liquid flowed, freezing him solid.
The icy cold sensation pierced through his mage robe to his marrow, as if he fell into an icy cavern, feeling his internal heat gradually being consumed by the cold ice.
Alchemy potion?!
The mage’s eyes widened in surprise.
That’s right, from the beginning, this blonde lass had bottles of various colored potions hanging around her waist. Initially, the mage assumed they were restoration potions, never imagining they were offensive Alchemy potions!
Causes freezing, isn’t this ‘Frost Kiss’? No, it’s probably not, as the effect is far inferior to ‘Frost Kiss’, possibly a cheaper version…
After flinging that Frost potion, Tillysha didn’t choose to finish the mage with her bow. Light arrows deal mainly physical damage with minimal Divine Authority damage and are too low in grade.
To ensure safety, Tillysha decided on an icy and fiery double combination.
So, she took out her orb-shaped Alchemy potion which had been used earlier on the orc—the Thunderous Alchemy Flask.
Tillysha didn’t directly throw it at the mage, she walked over in front of the mage, looking at his desperate and paralyzed face, and gently placed the Thunderous Flask into his hands.
“Mr. Barkley seems to have been quite shocked earlier. It was unavoidable. Could you kindly deliver my apology?” Tillysha tilted her head and smiled politely, then easily removed the safety cap of the Thunderous Flask and retreated.
“Boom!!!” Accompanied by deafening explosions, only the scattered ashes of the tattered mage robes remained flying in the air.
After eliminating two enemies, Tillysha raised her large bow, aiming for the beefy man trying to sneak away.
Seemingly realizing his two teammates were eliminated and he’d stand no chance, to possibly lower his ranking, this man chose to flee. Yet, how could his speed allow him to escape?
Within a few steps, Tillysha’s arrow pierced his neck from behind.
Even like this, it didn’t k*ll Blake outright; he was still sprinting desperately.
Tillysha took a vial of Alchemy potion and threw it toward Blake.
“Bang!” The potion exploded above Blake, emitting intense flashes of light. Blake, blinded, ran straight into the mountain cliff.
Tillysha shot again. With a ‘snap’, hitting Blake’s back neck, the token shattered.
‘Team 11 Knight Divine Authority Blake Tiege has been defeated by Team 30 Ranger Tillysha.’
‘Team 11 has been eliminated.’
‘Team 11 ranks ninth. Presently, there are nine remaining teams.’
It ended.
Tillysha slung both bows on her back, and at that moment, the announcement resounded again.
‘Team 3 Divine Prince Dix has been eliminated by Team 50 Knight Divine Authority Filisia Zhesha.’
‘Team 3 has been eliminated. Currently, there are eight remaining teams.’
‘Team 56 Divine Prince Fero has been eliminated by Team 45 Knight Divine Authority Aistride.’
‘Team 56 has been eliminated. Currently, there are seven remaining teams.’
‘Team 41 has been eliminated. Currently, there are six remaining teams.’
How quickly it had dwindled down to six teams. It seems during the battle with Team 11, other teams were fighting as well.
Only six left, huh.
Tillysha glanced at the slightly weary cat-lady behind her, pondering a while.
Between Tillysha and Wenfu, they counted two teams. Princess Filisia is one team, Aistride is another. So, there are two additional teams advancing to the finals.
“Ms. Tillysha.”
“Mmm?” Hearing Wenfu calling her, Tillysha turned.
“Thank you just now.” Wenfu slightly bowed her head, averting her gaze, her two hands twisting together, clearly finding it somewhat embarrassing to say those words.
“It’s nothing. If it were me in danger, I think Miss Shires would also certainly rescue me at the cost of her life, right~?” As she said this, Tillysha gave a slight smirk.
“Yes…” At this point, Wenfu felt somewhat guilty.
During the attack, she had actually thought that Tillysha would betray her…
