2~ “You’ve been quite well-prepared, I see.”
“Divine Analysis Technique?!” Noticing the gleam in Yimi’s eyes, Dillin hesitated briefly before realizing the skill she was using now was none other than the Divine Analysis Technique he was most familiar with.
Could it be that Yimi had uncovered his identity using the Divine Analysis Technique??
But how was that even possible? He had some form of detection protection. During the Crown Cup, any Divine Son who saw him would get a face-full of a dazzling flashbang.
The only plausible explanation for her Divine Analysis Technique being effective on him was that Yimi’s skill level was astonishingly high, comparable to his own boosted by the Golden Chalice, or perhaps even higher.
Including illusions, which are essentially resonances produced by mental power. A person with strong mental power can forcibly twist and alter the thoughts of someone with weaker mental power through some kind of field.
This was also the core of the Divine Son’s “Sorcery” path – attacking an enemy’s fragile mental defense with powerful mental power to cause stunnedness, fainting, and even spiritual shock.
Besides the four resistances, there was a fifth kind of resistance – mental resistance. However, unless one’s soul had special qualities, untrained mental strength was usually similar across individuals.
Among all professions, the mental power of Divine Sons was undoubtedly the highest, followed by Mages.
The former relied on mental power for their abilities, while the latter needed mental strength to guide their magic scrolls and wands when casting spells, indirectly training their mental power.
Dillin was astonished. This girl was only a few years old, and already with only her Divine Analysis Technique, she had seen through all his secrets like an open book; it was terrifying.
“Wherever you go, you have this false mask on, now you’ve even got a real ‘mask’ plastered onto your face. Are you so afraid that others will see who you really are?”
“Or are you afraid others will see your ugly mug?” Yimi mocked, speaking coldly despite her childlike face.
“I don’t understand, fellow student, what does this have to do with you?” Dillin furrowed his brows. “We have neither enmity in the past nor present. Why do you want to k*ll me?”
“Neither enmity in the past nor present?” Yimi scoffed. “The hatred of killing one’s own kin—does that count as no grudges?”
“Never mind, you’ve lost your memory, so talking about this probably won’t help. You don’t even remember that you’re the sinner of the Gold Elf clan.”
“What sinner? What are you talking about?”
“Truly, wicked people live long while righteous ones d*e young. A vermin like you even lives till today? The Mother Goddess has truly lost her mind.”
“Well, if you want to talk nonsense in the dead of night, why don’t you go and face the wall to do so? I don’t host mental patients here.” Dillin picked up the Purple-eyed Fire Blaster hanging on the wall.
Fighting privately within the campus violates school rules, but if he hadn’t woken up in time, a kn*fe would already be sticking out of his neck. This was no longer just a private brawl; it was a full-blown assassination attempt.
Speaking of which, she had mentioned the Gold Elves.
Seeing the dazzling hair color of her opponent, Dillin recalled his earlier assumptions. A glimmer of light flickered in his eyes as he activated the Divine Analysis Technique.
In the vision provided by the Divine Analysis Technique, the true appearance of the girl manifested. Those ears were clearly nothing like human ears—they were clearly elf ears!
“Are you…” Dillin’s pupils contracted slightly. “Are you a Gold Elf?!”
This was the second Gold Elf he had seen apart from Bilodis. There was no need for him to even try searching; they just showed up on his doorstep. However, it wasn’t even half an hour before she appeared on his bed, ready to assassinate him, armed with a kn*fe.
Yimi didn’t answer. Her emerald green eyes, like jade, radiated with an alluring luster. Before Dillin could react, it was too late—the gaze was like a chain, locking and binding his stare.
【Sorcery: Spiritual Chain】
Dillin blanked out for a moment.
Also, in that moment Dillin blanked out, Yimi capitalized on her petite frame to roll to Dillin’s feet, picking up the dagger that had fallen on the ground and lunging it straight at Dillin’s vital point.
Yimi had conducted detailed investigations to avenge her family; she knew tonight the Crown Manor would only house Dillin alone. Under the protection of the Coleman Academy, Dillin would be at his least alert. Besides, after a string of easy victories, arrogance was inevitable. Even if it wasn’t explicit, Dillin would subconsciously feel that there was no one in this academy, among his peers, who could match him.
Accumulated overconfidence and negligence became her opportunity to succeed!
“Clang Clang!!” Fortunately, despite Yimi’s powerful mental strength, her physical abilities were lackluster, her movements not fast enough. This allowed Dillin enough time to break free of the mental restraints, using his fire blaster to block her blade.
Nevertheless, even so, Dillin’s shoulder was still cut with a shallow red wound.
What a troublesome ability.
The two weapons strained against each other. Human strength was too insignificant, even less so against the golden-haired girl in front of him, causing Dillin to instinctively look at the girl’s eyes and find that swirling patterns of vibrant colors within them, seeking to penetrate through his eyes, to engulf his consciousness entirely.
Having learned his lesson from the previous incident, Dillin immediately averted his gaze, so as not to fall prey to her sorcery. Just as he turned his head, it felt as if a thousand needles pierced his forehead, digging deep into it.
【Sorcery: Spiritual Shock】
The intense pain caused Dillin to lose all sense of direction, stumbling and falling onto the floor, knocking over the bedside table in the process.
Yimi took advantage of the situation to sit back on Dillin’s waist, both hands gripping the dagger fiercely aiming it towards Dillin’s forehead.
Earlier, she didn’t know why, but when she could have easily killed Dillin with a single stab, she hesitated at the last moment. This gave Dillin the chance to awaken, pushing her off.
Not this time, you won’t have a chance.
Yimi focused intently; her pure white, art-like thighs clamped onto Dillin, immobilizing him from escaping as she forcefully thrust the kn*fe.
A crisp sound interrupted her; a wave of golden butterfly wings erupted from the man beneath her.
At first glance, the black-haired youth had transformed into a delicate, golden-haired elf girl.
“Such disobedient conduct.” A gentle voice wafted past Yimi’s ears, then she felt someone grasping her wrists, causing her to lose her grip on the dagger, letting it clatter to the floor.
“It’s not good for someone so young to play with such dangerous things. Know when to stop.” Although Tillysha was the one pinned down on the floor, her serene emerald olive eyes bore into Yimi, who couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of familiarity, along with an impending sense of doom.
Yimi attempted the same tactic, trying to interfere with Tillysha’s mind by looking into her eyes.
In response, Tillysha smiled lightly, somewhat disdainfully, before closing her eyes, purposefully avoiding looking at Yimi’s eyes. She simply let Yimi ride on her, grabbing her wrists as one would a chick.
Despite being the same person, the sense of compression was not even on the same level as when she faced Dillin.
Caught like this, Yimi couldn’t move an inch, having the feeling of being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
However, tonight she had made extensive preparations to k*ll Tillysha, not just that bit.
She crushed the alchemical tablet hidden in her mouth and spat the vaporized tablet onto Tillysha’s face.
Caught off guard by this sudden attack, Tillysha immediately felt her head pierced by a strong needle sensation, causing a bout of dizziness, followed by realizing her “prey” had slipped away.
Not only that, the alchemical liquid that mixed with her saliva quickly spread, soon covering the entire room.
“Dear child.” Tillysha stood up and immediately grabbed a handkerchief, wiping her face, removing the unknown saliva or melted alchemical residue, all while faking a smile.
As someone with obsessive-compulsive disorder towards cleanliness, what she despised the most was having unclean substances on her.
And today, she met a young girl who dared to spit saliva on her face. Hmmmm…
Tillysha might be just a little bit, slightly angry.
The room was enveloped in smoke, visibility extremely low.
“Bad children will be punished.” Tillysha intentionally walked toward the door but squatted by the bedside in a flash, grabbing something concealed inside and dragging it out.
“My, what a super-sized rat we have in the room tonight.”
Looking at the creature she had dragged out by its ankles, resembling a cat, the “gold-haired soft-bodied animal,” Tillysha’s smile grew even wider.
“What’s with this look of surprise? Gold Elves are intuition-driven, not sight-led. Even if you covered my eyes, you thought that would stop me from finding where you were hidden?” Tillysha teased Yimi.
“Tsk! Fatty cow!” Seeing Tillysha’s chest, Yimi spat angrily.
Suddenly, Tillysha felt another needle-like pain in her forehead, slightly less severe than before but still unbearable enough to momentarily faint without a chance to react. Yimi had already extracted an alchemical agent from behind and, after breaking its safety cap, hurled it at Tillysha’s face.
“Boom Boom!” Just as Tillysha had awakened, her overly sensitive eyes were struck by an intense flash of light, causing tears to stream down her face.
Alchemical flashbangs, aren’t they?!
The tide turned. After frequently serving others with flashbangs, Tillysha did not expect herself to taste her own medicine one day.
This young girl was truly persistent; combining spiritual control with alchemical agents was truly infuriating!
After several exchanges, Tillysha found this gold elf girl’s fighting skills to be rather weak, even impoverished, much like her flat chest.
But her mental power was extraordinarily strong. To compensate for her deficiencies in hard power, she had brought many alchemical drugs to increase her error tolerance.
After all, as a Divine Son, she cannot also be a Divine Daughter.
There’s no more playing around; it’s time to get serious.
The brief blindness still caused a bit of interference, but when she was about to grab the wooden bow hanging on the wall, her thigh was struck with a sharp pain.
“Uhh…”
The intense pain forced Tillysha to kneel down on one knee. Simultaneously, a stream of bl**d trickled down her leg to her ankle and finally dripped onto the floor.
Without activating “The Realm,” Tillysha was just like any other person; being stabbed by a kn*fe would also leave her injured.
The feeling of bleeding.
It had been quite a while since she experienced this sensation.
Since her enrollment in the academy, she had never been injured so severely as to bleed this much.
Such a little girl truly underestimated her.
“Tillysha.” Yimi stood in front of her, looking up at the kneeling golden-haired girl, her bloodstained kn*fe trembling, unnoticed even by herself.
“Repent for your deeds in this final moment.”
“Miss Yimi, it was your chance.” Tillysha closed her eyes and smiled upon hearing this.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Your mental power surpasses mine, and after my insight could vaguely perceive your location, you deliberately used your mental power to obscure my insight.”
“Unfortunately, you shouldn’t have made a sound, letting me know exactly where you are.”
Yimi widened her eyes, sensing something wrong and quickly looked down at her feet, where a bundle of thorns had already wrapped around her foot and ankle.
【Divine Authority: Emerald Fragrance】
When did this happen?!!
“To be honest, there is indeed something about which I am cautious of,” said Tillysha, her vision not yet restored, so she kept her eyes closed. “After all, this is my room, and using full force might damage my property.”
“If not for that precaution, don’t you think your tricks would be enough to fool me?”
Without allowing Yimi to think more, a tiny bud landed on her neck, from which a golden rose grew, using her skin as soil.
Yimi was panicking. She didn’t know what the effect of these moves would be, but she could feel that this rose didn’t grow out of nowhere but had drawn nourishment, and the source of that nourishment should be obvious.
At this point, Yimi could only attempt to use illusions to try and control Tillysha’s mind again.
Seeing that Tillysha was about to open her eyes, Yimi planned to use the last of her mental strength to launch the most powerful illusion against Tillysha.
Her pupils contracted tightly, ready to lock her eyes with Tillysha.
But before she could launch the spell, a whitish bottle, somewhat familiar, flew towards her.
This is…?
Yimi widened her eyes in shock. By the time she realized what it was, it was too late. The bottle exploded in front of her face, the intense white light hurting her eyes and causing them to tear.
“People who can use alchemy potions aren’t just you, kiddo.” Tillysha had already anticipated that the girl would try to use a mental attack as soon as she opened her eyes. So, she had already pulled out her flashbang from her bosom and threw it in advance.
Losing sight doesn’t matter to Tillysha much as her combat ability doesn’t heavily rely on vision. For Yimi, it’s different.
In order to use illusions or spiritual shock, you need direct eye contact. Blindness rendering her sightless would naturally lead to panic.
By the time she had recovered, she had already been caught by Tillysha, who was now holding her bow with her domain activated, holding her arm with one hand and pressing her back to the ground with her knees.
“Checkmate, young Yimi.”
“…” Yimi clenched her teeth and spat out a cloud of purple poison mist from her mouth.
But the poisonous vapor that hit Tillysha left her completely unharmed, while the wooden bow only slightly corroded.
“Same tactics won’t work twice, girl.”
“Using alchemical drugs, alchemical potions, and picking today to make the move. You’ve been well-prepared against me, Yimi kiddo.”
