047. The Dude!
==============================
The next day, when he woke up, it was already past eight.
Wu Guodong instinctively reached out beside him, only to find nothing but empty air. Suddenly, the embarrassing scene from yesterday came rushing back to him.
That thing was actually seen by his nephew…
He inhaled deeply, unsure of how to face Lin Nan, let alone think about whether Lin Nan looked like a girl or not.
He wondered if his nephew was awake, or if he had spent the whole night tossing and turning because of the heat?
Getting out of bed, he casually grabbed his phone from the bedside, turned off the air conditioning which had been running all night, and peered out toward the sofa where Lin Nan was curled up, fast asleep.
Wu Guodong didn’t want to wake him up, because meeting face-to-face would be super awkward, so he tiptoed to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and took out a big box of milk and some bread.
He returned to the living room, set himself down on a small stool in front of the coffee table, and couldn’t help but sneak another glance at Lin Nan.
Yesterday was Lin Nan’s first time trying out the game console, and he had been so excited that after gaming with Chen Yao and the others for a set time, he kept playing until late into the night, and now, with his typically light sleep, he showed no signs of waking up.
Cuddled into the sofa, his body was the perfect picture of relaxation, with the hem of his short sleeves stretched upwards, revealing a hint of smooth skin between his waist and hips. His pants had somehow rolled up, leaving his well-proportioned calves exposed.
But what really caught Wu Guodong’s attention was Lin Nan’s rear end, which looked absolutely prominent due to his curled-up position.
This waist-to-hip ratio must be perfect, right? The proportions of his upper and lower body must also be the golden ratio, right?
It’s a dude, a dude… my nephew.
Can’t see his face, can’t see that flat chest, nor can he see any front-humping action, but at least the rear view is crystal clear. From Wu Guodong’s angle, the person on the sofa was oozing primal temptation, prompting him to quickly grab his breakfast and scurry toward the bedroom.
Thank goodness his nephew didn’t agree to sleep together last night; boy, guys really do change a lot by the age of eighteen.
He sat down at the computer in his bedroom, lamenting endlessly.
How did his nephew become like this? How’s a guy supposed to handle this?
If he had known Lin Nan was going to transform into someone who gave him the wrong impression of a girl, he definitely wouldn’t have invited Lin Nan over. It was just foolishness—finally having a break and deciding to find someone to hang out with, and he had to choose Lin Nan of all people.
Even though he was nearly thirty, Wu Guodong had never been intimate with a girl; whenever he encountered one at work, he instinctively got nervous and stuttered, and at home, he usually just gamed and never stepped out, maintaining the image of a straightforward guy who only knows how to earn money.
Luckily, he hadn’t really seen Lin Nan as a girl; otherwise, he would probably stutter even while talking to him.
After hiding in the bedroom for about an hour, he heard a knock on the door.
“Uncle! Didn’t you prepare my towel and toothbrush?”
Lin Nan, feeling embarrassed after seeing something private last night, hadn’t dared to talk much, so after searching high and low for a towel and toothbrush with no luck, he simply went to sleep. Now, he woke up feeling absolutely miserable.
“Why didn’t you say anything last night…” Wu Guodong opened the door, pulling out his phone helplessly. “I’ll order you something from the supermarket.”
“Why did you let me come over with nothing prepared…”
If I had prepared, I wouldn’t have let you come over!
Wu Guodong muttered to himself but obediently ordered some supermarket takeout, adding some snacks and drinks while he was at it.
“It’ll be here in about half an hour; remember to grab it. I’m going to play some games,” Wu Guodong was still feeling awkward about what happened yesterday and didn’t want to chat too much with Lin Nan.
“Okay, then I’ll go play your game console.”
Lin Nan initially thought his uncle’s life was pretty boring, but just a day in, he became completely hooked on the game console.
Even though he was a sophomore, Lin Nan had just turned eighteen, and a lack of self-control when it came to games was perfectly normal. He had played LOL for years, and although he still loved it, it couldn’t compare to the excitement of the new games he was trying out.
His uncle had three game consoles, covering all the major platforms. The shelves were crammed full of game discs, leaving Lin Nan dazzled and wide-eyed.
This is what rich people look like.
His uncle had always been generous, at least with him; every time they went out, Wu Guodong would agree to whatever Lin Nan wanted, and as long as there was money, it was buy, buy, buy. Lin Nan still had a scarf his uncle gifted him in his dorm room.
Lin Nan regretted not keeping in touch more after his uncle started university. At first, they would chat occasionally online or catch up during the holidays, but soon it dwindled down to just family reunions during the New Year, causing their relationship to become rather distant. If only he had known his uncle could make this kind of money, he would have pestered him for online chats every day to strengthen their friendship.
If that were the case, he might already be the boss with every skin in LOL, huh.
As he played games and waited, about twenty minutes later, his takeout arrived.
Lin Nan hurriedly grabbed the takeout and dashed off to wash up.
Normally, he took a shower every night in summer, but since yesterday had been a total washout—he hadn’t even washed his face or brushed his teeth—he felt greasy all over and desperately needed to clean up.
His uncle’s bathroom was small, just a basic squat toilet with a water heater, while the washbasin was out in the hallway.
He grabbed his towel and clothes, locked the door behind him, then stripped down to get ready for a shower.
Wu Guodong heard the water running in the bathroom, finally summoned the courage to step out, put the half-empty box of milk back in the fridge, and tidied up the trash in his bedroom. Then he nervously pondered how to interact with Lin Nan from here on out.
Originally, he was unsure how to face Lin Nan because of the embarrassing moment, but now it was more about Lin Nan’s distractingly appealing figure for a guy.
Passing by the bathroom, he heard the sound of running water and, instinctively, took a glance. Through the frosted glass of the bathroom door, he caught a glimpse of a vague black silhouette.
If only he had a bigger chest…
Though all he could see was a blurry outline, single for years Wu Guodong couldn’t help but let his imagination run wild with visions of what that shower scene might look like. Combine that with what he had seen this morning, and it was enough to leave him flustered and disoriented.
This is my nephew, a dude, a dude.
He quickly shook those thoughts from his head, feeling a bit confused.
How do Lin Nan’s dorm mates stand it?
Maybe it’s because he dresses conservatively in the dorm?
Not daring to linger any longer, he thought that he should definitely get a solid bathroom door that doesn’t let anyone peek through, and Wu Guodong hurried back to his bedroom, acting as if he was engrossed in a game, trying his best to avoid thinking about Lin Nan’s figure.
Turns out being single for too long can make one a bit strange—he was actually feeling interested in his nephew?
