060. Outing
==============================
Liu Xuefei’s makeup skills were definitely impressive among the college crowd, but there was one little problem: she only did her own makeup and had never helped anyone else before.
So, when it came to putting makeup on Lin Nan, she was extra careful, like an artist painting the Mona Lisa, afraid that a single brushstroke could ruin everything. After all, her makeup products cost a pretty penny.
Lin Nan’s already somewhat unruly eyebrows got a little trim, and a few were plucked. The pain made him wince like he’d just bitten into a lemon.
As the saying goes, “A man is judged by his clothes, and a horse by its saddle,” but in modern times it’s all about makeup and beauty filters. And when it comes to makeup, many people consider eyebrows to be the pièce de résistance.
A beautiful pair of brows that complements a person’s face is often seen as the crown jewel of their charm, so Liu Xuefei made sure to pay extra attention to this detail.
When it came time for the actual makeup application, Li Na couldn’t chime in; she could only stand behind Lin Nan, trying to tidy up the wig while curiously watching Lin Nan’s transformation unfold.
After over half an hour, Liu Xuefei finally put down the makeup brush.
Lin Nan nearly dozed off with his eyes closed.
“Take a look, how do you like it?” Liu Xuefei said triumphantly, hands on her hips. “You’re an absolute knockout now!”
From behind, Li Na nodded vigorously in agreement, “Prettier than Lilith!”
Still with his eyes shut tight, Lin Nan finally quivered his eyebrows, nervously opening his eyes. He glanced into the mirror and almost didn’t recognize himself.
I have to admit, Li Na’s makeup skills were top-tier. Compared to the last time when magic was involved in the cross-dressing, this time everything looked even more stunning and natural.
He shakily stood up, incredulously reaching his hand toward the flawless face staring back at him in the mirror. The pent-up tension he’d been feeling burst into a flood of dopamine, excitement making his body tremble.
“Is this really me?”
Lin Nan leaned a bit closer to the mirror, taking in the smooth, unblemished skin, the artificially enhanced eyelashes and eye makeup that made his eyes pop, a nose that looked more defined, and that delicate jawline framed by hair.
He touched his hair; the wig didn’t feel great, but at least it looked convincingly real. The bangs gently rested on his brow bone and his face, once marred by masculine flaws, now seemed almost too good to be true.
His gaze started to drift downwards.
His slightly more pronounced chest hadn’t changed, still showcasing two small points, but the fitted white tee accentuated his already slender waist, making it seem as delicate as a willow branch, leading down to an almost perfect waist-to-hip ratio. The black pleated skirt didn’t exactly highlight his backside, but those two long, fair legs peeking out from beneath it were definitely eye-catching.
Lin Nan swallowed hard and turned to the other two.
He suddenly felt the urge to embrace this cross-dressing lifestyle forever, but quickly shoved that thought aside, making an effort to keep his mind clear and not let the joy bubble up inside him.
“I told you, you’re totally suited for girl’s clothes!” Liu Xuefei said, nodding in satisfaction as she appraised Lin Nan from head to toe. “If you walk out like this and someone realizes you’re a boy, you might just get mobbed by girls!”
Just mentioning going out snapped Lin Nan back to reality, and he quickly shook his head. Before he could speak, Li Na suddenly handed him a pair of little shoes.
“Well, we can’t mess with the shoes! You can’t wear those flats anymore, right?”
“I’ll throw in a pair of black thigh-high stockings!” Liu Xuefei chirped, rushing off to find her socks.
Lin Nan turned to Li Na, finding an intense spark of enthusiasm in her eyes. He was taken aback, unsure why she looked so eager.
Li Na grinned as she placed the shoes in front of him, but that grin made Lin Nan feel a little twitchy.
He had the bizarre sensation he was about to be led off to see the goldfish.
Soon enough, Liu Xuefei returned with her long stockings, practically bouncing with excitement as she handed them to Lin Nan.
He held the socks, utterly perplexed, glancing between the two eager faces; inside he was both thrilled and desperate to remind himself to not get too carried away with this whole girly thing.
Otherwise, he’d end up becoming… Lilith…
He muttered silently in his mind, repeatedly reminding himself, but the thrill associated with Lilith quickly clouded his thoughts once more.
Lin Nan nearly succumbed to temptation and slipped on the thigh-highs, putting on the little shoes, and standing in front of the mirror again.
Absolute territory…
That flash of white thigh had Lin Nan staring in disbelief.
Once upon a time, he had drooled over “absolute territory” online, yet today he had become the leading lady.
“How do I look?” Li Na suddenly asked.
“Pretty…” Lin Nan admitted reluctantly.
Liu Xuefei piped up, “That’s thanks to my excellent makeup skills! Otherwise, you’d just be, well… above-average on the streets! Mainly because of your blemishes and spots. And while your face looks stunning now, it still kinda shows that you’re a boy.”
She might have said all that, but inside, Liu Xuefei felt a sting of envy.
How could she, a girl, not even be better than a boy? How was this boy’s figure even better than hers?
Thinking of this, Liu Xuefei suddenly poked Lin Nan’s chest. Lin Nan nearly jumped out of his skin, hurriedly covering his chest as he stepped back, wide-eyed at her.
“Soft… I was just about to ask, how do you have a chest?”
Lin Nan turned beet red, stammering as he looked down to explain, “Maybe I’ve been drinking too much soy milk?”
“I drink soy milk every day and I don’t have a chest…” Liu Xuefei sighed as she glanced at her own “airplane runway,” then pulled out a small camisole from her cupboard, handing it to Lin Nan. “Hurry up and put this on, or you might flash some skin.”
To be honest, it was Lin Nan’s first time knowing that a girl in university still wore a camisole as an undergarment. Usually, that’s something only young girls who have just hit puberty would wear.
No wonder she wore those thin pajamas with no real reaction earlier; it’s like she forgot she even had a chest!
Lin Nan took the camisole and darted into the bathroom to change.
Once dressed, his carefully styled wig ended up in disarray again, and Li Na took the comb, continuing to tidy it up while casually asking, “How about we go to the cafeteria for lunch later?”
“I’m going too!”
She cast a wary glance at Liu Xuefei, a hint of suspicion in her gaze, but considering Liu Xuefei’s efforts, she let it slide. “Okay, fine.”
Lin Nan, however, began shaking his head furiously. “What if a classmate recognizes me?”
“For the National Day, how many classmates are around? Most of them are either home or holed up in their dorms,” Liu Xuefei said with a grin as she put an arm around Lin Nan without worrying about gender propriety. “Dressed up so beautifully, you’ve got to strut your stuff, right?”
Why did it feel like her wording was a bit off?
Li Na nodded too, “Besides, I can’t afford takeout.”
That girl must’ve come from another world without any funds. Her everyday style and the tidiness of the dorm desk suggested she was likely poorer than Lin Nan.
Lin Nan was broke too; his uncle had given him some money, but he had just handed it back to Tu Junhui. After thinking it over for a moment, he finally found himself defeated by the eager pleading in both girls’ eyes.
“Alright… fine.”
