063. Inn 【Monthly Ticket Bonus】
==============================
Fortunately, Li Na wasn’t causing any more trouble, insisting that Lin Nan go do this and that. The problem was, although Liu Xuefei had been treating Lin Nan decently so far, they were still technically meeting for the first time today.
“You want to stay in my dormitory?!” When she first heard Li Na’s plan, she practically jumped out of her chair in disbelief. “I mean, sure, Lin Nan looks better in makeup than a lot of girls, but come on, boys can’t stay in dorms!”
Li Na rolled her eyes. “I’m just letting you know.”
That’s the part Liu Xuefei found unbearable. It was an extremely rude and unrealistic idea, and yet when Li Na said it, she acted like it was the most logical thing in the world, as if she were sitting on a throne.
Lin Nan quickly stepped in to ease the tension. “It’s fine, I’ll just find an inn nearby.”
Staying in Li Na’s dorm was Lin Nan’s original idea, but back then, he thought he’d have it all to himself — who knew there would be a roommate?
And there went a few bucks down the drain…
“Are you still dressing as a girl tonight?” Li Na asked curiously. “Did you lose a bet or something?”
“Until tomorrow morning…” Lin Nan didn’t admit anything.
However, he was a bit apprehensive about leaving the girls’ dorm and running into a situation similar to before, so he pitifully asked, “Do you have a mask in your dorm? I need to cover my face… just in case someone recognizes me.”
“We have disposables.”
Li Na stood nearby with her arms crossed, yawning. “What’s there to be afraid of?”
If it weren’t for her smug attitude and the fact she playfully slapped Chen Yao on the back, he probably wouldn’t even have realized Chen Yao was sitting right behind him.
Lin Nan shot her a glare. “I’ll come by tomorrow at noon to return your clothes.”
“I won’t wear them anyway, just take them back.”
As if I’d wear them if I took them back!
Lin Nan glanced at himself in the mirror and took a deep breath.
He really was tempted to wear women’s clothing for life, but at the moment, his stomach was giving him occasional minor pangs, reminding him that this idea wasn’t exactly his heart’s desire.
Seeing Lin Nan planning to leave for the inn, Li Na pursed her lips, clearly displeased.
“Why don’t you just stay?” Lin Nan turned back to her, his face showing some disgust.
He would rather be trapped alone in a room dressed as a girl with some roommate than be in the same space with this girl. At least those roommates might think he’s just a cross-dressing big shot and wouldn’t assume anything weird. Compared to Li Na’s inclinations, that seemed way safer.
He had prepared well this time, carrying his ID just in case things turned awkward. If he was recognized and felt too humiliated, he could always hop on a train and vanish.
Though, the chances of that happening were slim.
It was said that some people, when overly embarrassed, might just short-circuit their brains and then act even more brazen. Lin Nan was definitely more like an ostrich with its head in the sand.
All afternoon, he did nothing but play on his phone. He woke up too early that morning and was completely knackered, but sleep was out of the question.
According to his original plan, he should be lying in the bed of one of Li Na’s roommates by now. Morally questionable? Sure, but if Li Na didn’t tell anyone, no one would know. Yet here he was, slumped over on the desk, about to doze off.
Thanks to the holiday vibe, both Li Na and Liu Xuefei were a bit lazy. By the afternoon, they were yawning like nobody’s business and soon left Lin Nan, who was perched on the chair, to take a nap.
Lin Nan had always thought that when beautiful girls fart, it smells like roses, let alone when they snore, but these two, despite being so slim, were snoring up a storm.
This made Lin Nan, who was on the verge of sleep, jolt awake. Their combined snoring was louder than Tu Junhui, forcing Lin Nan to stifle his exhaustion and get back to his phone.
Finally, night fell.
After ordering takeout for dinner, Lin Nan donned a disposable mask and headed out alone.
Without anyone else around, his sense of shame faded a bit, but he remained cautious. Wearing the mask, he tried to keep his eyes on the floor to avoid drawing attention to his face. Even so, he noticed plenty of eyes lingering on his exposed thighs, which were undoubtedly a magnet for attention among today’s anime-obsessed college students.
He couldn’t tell if his legs were too slender or what, but after walking a few hundred meters, his thigh-high socks kept sliding down. If he didn’t pull them up, they’d eventually end up around his knees. Lin Nan could only walk a bit and then find a secluded spot to discreetly tug them back up.
Finally reaching the Snack Street behind the school, he was surprised by just how crowded it was, even on National Day.
Traffic, students who hadn’t gone home, street vendors — there were at least a hundred people in sight. And Lin Nan’s presence quickly drew a number of curious glances, further tightening his already anxious heart.
It’s fine, I’m wearing a mask. There’s no way anyone will recognize me.
Since no one could possibly recognize him, he reassured himself that it didn’t matter what he did.
Head down, he hurried toward a nearby inn.
The inn was tucked away in an alley, and following the sign at the entrance, Lin Nan cautiously ventured into the deserted small alley.
Surely, there won’t be any bad guys here trying to rob or assault me, right?
Lin Nan had recently watched a lot of short videos featuring all kinds of crimes, and now, dressed in a short skirt and thigh-high socks, he couldn’t help but feel a tingle of worry as he feared he might genuinely encounter one of those infamous stories.
The alley was a bit messy compared to the outside, and after strolling about a hundred meters down the narrow path, he spotted a half-meter-wide iron door, above which were the words “Golden Deer Apartment” in bold.
Hastily stepping inside, he noticed a counter directly opposite the entrance. Lin Nan had thought that his outfit, combined with his male ID, might make it impossible to check in, but the staff at the counter didn’t seem interested in scrutinizing him at all. They casually registered his ID, took his money, and handed him a key.
“Room 203.”
“Thanks.”
This was Lin Nan’s first time staying at an inn, so he was quite curious about everything. As he walked to his room, he started observing the inn’s environment.
I must say, cheap inns really have a certain charm, right? The carpeted floor seemed pretty tragic; it was so dark that it was hard to tell when it was last cleaned.
The floor wasn’t littered with trash, but Lin Nan felt it was just a tad too dirty and messy.
If only I’d brought a blanket with me. The blankets here probably aren’t that clean either.
In the hallway, he could vaguely hear sounds coming from the rooms on either side, mostly conversations between a man and a woman, occasionally sprinkled with some heart-pounding sounds.
Lin Nan’s face flushed as he rushed into his own room.
Only to despairfully realize that the soundproofing here was practically nonexistent; the neighboring conversations pounded into his brain, crystal clear.
How am I supposed to sleep tonight…
