130. Playground Encounter
==============================
As the evening approached the end of class, Lin Nan noticed his junior waiting outside the classroom, the same one who had sent him a text at noon.
Being a university student, Lin Nan’s classrooms changed every lecture, making it tough for anyone who didn’t know their class schedule to find him afterward. Yet, that junior just appeared outside the class as if he had some secret intel.
Lin Nan was baffled and could only suspect that someone in their class had turned into a traitor.
Chen Yao noticed Lin Nan’s curiosity about the student outside and asked, “What’s up? Is that your friend?”
“No, that’s the little fanboy I mentioned last time,” Lin Nan admitted, feeling a bit foolish saying it out loud.
After all, he had only been feminine for two months, and his brain was still stuck in male mode. He couldn’t quite get himself to think like a girl yet, especially in a conversation. If he did, he wouldn’t have casually given out his contact info when someone flirted with him, nor would he think about Chen Yao and Uncle hiding their lower halves under blankets as if they wanted his body. His thought process had simply not reached that option yet.
“That guy who’s been flirting with you?” Chen Yao scrutinized the person outside with a critical eye. “Wow, what a classy scumbag. No wonder you feel so at ease around him.”
“Who says you can judge someone’s character just by looking at them?” Lin Nan shook his head in disbelief.
Honestly, he didn’t mind. After all, the remarks were spoken out of earshot.
Classes continued until around eight, and when the bell rang, the teacher gathered up their files and turned off the computer. Before the students even started to chat while getting up, the teacher was already out the door.
It felt like many university teachers were just completing a task, not actually teaching.
Lin Nan had once encountered a serious English teacher; her seriousness resulted in him and his roommates failing collectively after skipping two classes. Apparently, half the class wailed in despair, and the make-up exams were a chaotic scene.
Leaving the classroom through the back door with his roommates, that junior immediately approached him, beaming. “Senior, didn’t we agree that you’d help me if I needed you? I texted you at noon, but you didn’t reply!”
“Just had something going on.” The junior was so enthusiastic that Lin Nan couldn’t bring himself to say no.
Chen Yao cut in, “He likes girls and already has a girlfriend. Don’t get any wild ideas.”
Lin Nan looked at him, confused, then it hit him. He nodded rapidly, “Right, right! I have a girlfriend!”
But the junior remained cheerful, “Your girlfriend must be beautiful, right? Can you teach me how to play support sometime? I got wrecked again at noon.”
Hmm, looks like this junior is genuinely my little fanboy!
Lin Nan realized, then felt that Chen Yao was way out of line, always thinking the worst of people. Who even has a crush on someone just because they look good, regardless of gender?
“Not bad!” Chen Yao shot Lin Nan a glance, clearly sensing he had lowered his guard. He smirked, thinking Lin Nan was too naive, too trusting of others.
After a quick chat, they agreed to duo queue over the weekend, and the junior happily bounced off.
Lin Nan raised an eyebrow at Chen Yao. “Still flirting? This isn’t just my fanboy, right? No one flirts without even telling their name!”
“Sure, you’re right.” Chen Yao shrugged, convinced that a normal person wouldn’t crush on someone over a few low-end game matches. If Lin Nan wasn’t so cute, he might believe it.
Tu Junhui and Xiong Da had already headed back, leaving Lin Nan and Chen Yao as the last two in the evening classroom.
Descending the stairs and passing by the security guard who was locking up, they realized they had nothing else to do, so they stretched their legs and strolled around the campus.
Lin Nan gazed up at the sky, not seeing the starry expanse he remembered from childhood. He had anticipated this, but it was still a bit disappointing.
“Are you still working part-time this weekend?” Chen Yao asked, shoving his hands in his pockets, slightly shivering from the autumn breeze.
After a moment’s thought, he invited, “How about we find a place to hang out?”
“Forget it, I won’t have any living expenses for the next few months. If I don’t work hard to make money, what’s the point? Are you going to steal an e-bicycle and support me?” Lin Nan joked, “By now, you owe me like four or five hundred since middle school!”
“Just a few meals here and there don’t add up to that much!”
Perhaps due to his increasingly feminine appearance, Lin Nan was especially nostalgic for his middle and high school days when he was short and had acne, but all in all, he wasn’t bad looking. He even had a couple of girls confess to him back then. Unfortunately, he was too clueless then, and now that he was on the verge of becoming a girl himself, he regretted it.
He wore an expression of utter disillusionment. Ever since starting university, he had become more of a recluse, hardly communicating with classmates, so the chances of a girl confessing to him were slim. But now, the possibility of boys confessing had increased significantly.
Not wanting to return to the dorm just yet, they chatted about games while strolling onto the Grand Playground, walking along the track.
The university campus was lively at night, with dozens of students gathered for games and chats. Lin Nan spotted someone in the corner with a speaker playing guitar. Though the playing was subpar, a crowd had gathered to watch.
“Nannan!”
A slap on his shoulder from behind made him turn. Li Na was grinning at him. “So, have you made up your mind?”
He knew exactly what she was referring to and shook his head again. “No way, I’m not that easy.”
“Don’t come crying to me when something happens. Then it’ll cost you a pretty penny~”
What a little demon! Funny how she’s got the title of Saintess in the other world. What a joke!
Frustrated about not dating in middle and high school, Lin Nan suddenly felt the terrifying nature of women. He tugged Chen Yao closer. “This guy here, strong and sturdy, will definitely satisfy you!”
“What are you talking about?” Chen Yao looked utterly bewildered.
“I hate men…” Li Na pouted in disdain.
Lin Nan puffed out his chest, hands on his hips in defiance. “What a coincidence! I’m a big man!”
I swear, this guy might just be a fool.
At that moment, both Chen Yao and Li Na had the exact same thought. Then Li Na aggressively pulled Lin Nan closer and whispered, “Can I borrow some of your magic power?”
“Huh?”
What magic power? The smell of milk?
“I haven’t been back in ages. I need to file my report, so I’ll say I already hurt Lilith using your magic power.” She whispered to Lin Nan. “Otherwise, if I keep delaying, I might end up with someone less agreeable showing up.”
Lin Nan recalled their first meeting and thought that she wasn’t exactly peaceful herself.
Almost got stabbed in the kidney!

Two chapters in one go, and that’s it for today! The plot has been a bit slow lately, posting piecemeal feels too dragged out.
I’ve got fifteen chapters to go in reserve, but I’ve been slacking. Yep.
