164. Li Na is a Good Person

When Lin Nan woke up the next day, he was still feeling a bit sluggish.
Although Purification Magic could indeed cleanse alcohol, it seemed to be limited to the alcohol in the stomach, and the alcohol that had already seeped into his bloodstream could not be magically discharged.
This meant that even after a full night’s sleep, he still had a nagging headache.
But he was already the earliest riser in the whole dorm, glancing at the other beds to see that the three others, including Chen Yao, were still snoring away.
Especially Tu Junhui—about two hundred pounds, loves to snore when he sleeps, and after last night’s drinks, his snores were like thunder that shook the heavens and made ghosts weep. Lin Nan had initially planned to catch a few more Z’s, but Tu’s snoring had him tossing and turning, unable to fall back asleep.
So, with an exaggerated sigh, he got out of bed, stretched, and looked at Chen Yao, who was directly across from him.
Even though they had been sleeping foot-to-foot for a month, Lin Nan was still getting used to it.
I mean, back then, he could just play with Chen Yao’s hair whenever he was bored, but now he could only jab his toes at the soles of Chen Yao’s feet.
Slowly climbing down from his bed, Lin Nan took a quick glance in the mirror. The newly unlocked magic hadn’t brought about any drastic changes—his skin seemed to have a tad more sheen, making him look like he was glowing.
While the external changes were minimal, Lin Nan knew that his internal organs were likely undergoing more significant development.
If last month during the medical exam his organs were still at a thirteen or fourteen-year-old level, now they had probably reached at least sixteen.
Oh, and it seemed his chest had gotten a little bigger too.
Before yesterday, it was more like a small apple; now, it was at least a big apple—or maybe a meat bun? Just enough for one hand to cover… Lin Nan tested it out, and his hands definitely could cover it.
With all three dorm mates still asleep, he figured he could be a bit bolder.
He never measured his chest, but by visual estimation, it seemed to be comparable to girls his age.
Staying in the dorm was no longer an option.
With a wry smile, Lin Nan pulled out a thin windbreaker from his closet, threw it on, and fastened the buttons, immediately concealing his once quite grand chest.
Good thing it was already transitioning into winter—the temperature was about twenty degrees, not too cold, but wearing a coat would no longer draw attention.
In the dorm, the only time they might notice his chest was right after showering.
Once dressed, he grabbed his towel and toothbrush, yawning as he strolled to the balcony to freshen up.
It had been a month since his family sent him living expenses, but fortunately, Lin Nan had diligently kept his part-time flyer distribution job each week, preventing him from facing too dire of a situation. Not to mention previous bonuses and his uncle’s red envelope had added up nicely.
Even if he didn’t work for the next few weeks, he should be fine until the holidays.
After freshening up, he returned to his computer and pulled out his phone to check the calendar.
“In a few days, Aunt Flo might come knocking again…”
He thought back to his cycle: the first one during the National Day holiday, the second in November, and now here he was at the beginning of December—definitely prime time for Aunt Flo’s arrival.
Casting a casual Purification Magic on himself, Lin Nan picked up his kettle to start boiling water.
The magic would prevent internal bl**d clots, but girls like Li Na and Lilith had their lighter periods mostly due to passive magic enhancing their physical state. They’d spent so long steeped in magic, their health was naturally better than Lin Nan’s.
But not Lin Nan. His physical state took a nosedive after Lilith merged with him, and he didn’t have any magic to boost his physique. He had to be careful not to drink cold water or cola; ideally, avoiding even cold water altogether would be best.
Back in early October, he suffered for days after having a Frappuccino, and even though he tried to be careful in November, Aunt Flo still decided to throw him a curveball. Just when he planned to enjoy one last cola, fate dealt him another blow.
Later on, he found out online that being early or late by a week was quite normal… And for him, being magically transformed into a girl in the middle of everything definitely spurred more irregularity.
With the kettle boiling, he slipped on his shoes and headed out, temporarily forgetting about experimenting with that attention-enhancing magic that was supposed to help him read quickly.
He made a beeline for the school’s Snack Street, smoothly navigating through an alley, dodging some ground-level wastewater and trash until he finally arrived at the front door of a Rental Apartment in the Urban Village.
The front door was tightly shut, only allowing entry with a keycard, so he picked up his phone and called. A moment later, Li Na cracked the door open and popped her head out.
“Come on in.”
“Okay.”
This was a budget Rental Apartment in the Urban Village, furnished like a typical small inn but also offered monthly rental services.
Li Na rented this place primarily to accommodate Lilith’s body, and on weekends, she would come here to conduct some soul-magic experiments.
It had been just over a month since Li Na’s last visit—after poring over books and experimenting on Lin Nan, she had finally grasped some insights about this type of magic.
Following her into the apartment, which was essentially a studio flat with a bathroom, he noticed that other than a bed and a table, it was almost completely bare. If not for the messy blankets on the bed, one could hardly tell someone actually lived there.
“Is Lilith off to be a maid again?” Lin Nan asked curiously.
“Yup, she’s getting paid in a couple of days—at least four to five thousand,” Li Na replied, her face alight with excitement.
At first, her decision to have Lilith work as a maid was merely for her own twisted amusement, but thinking it through, if she could control Lilith to work as a maid, then she could retire from her tutoring gig.
So, amidst a perfectly functioning maid café, a beautifully delicate corpse had infiltrated!
Just the thought made Lin Nan feel a little queasy.
“I’m already working on your identity issues,” Li Na said, her capabilities hardly bound by limits. With her magic, she could easily manipulate the thoughts of anyone on Earth. She pulled out a document from a drawer and handed it to Lin Nan. “This is your medical record. In a bit, you’ll get a diagnosis, and then we’ll get it notarized when you become a girl. I’ll have everything settled with the hospital quickly.”
“Settled?” Lin Nan asked, eyeing her suspiciously.
“Controlling the hospital director to handle the paperwork, implanting memories in the doctors… Even though you’ve never been to a hospital, they’ll believe they performed surgery on you. I’ve even arranged for a surgery—only, the one rolling you into the theater will be a male dog.”
So basically, all the paperwork would look completely legit… except that a dog would be doing the surgery instead of Lin Nan.
Poor dog!
Lin Nan silently mourned for that dog for half a second, then happily clutched his medical record as if it were a trophy and walked away.
Turns out, Li Na was just a slightly twisted good person! Truly worthy of the title “Saintess”!
