## 169. Transformation?! 【19/154】
==============================
The next day, just as the clock struck five, Lin Nan was jolted awake by a slight, annoying pain in her lower abdomen.
She hadn’t slept well all night. The pain wasn’t excruciating, but it was enough to ensure she didn’t have a peaceful slumber.
Add a typical case of morning grumpiness to the mix, and Lin Nan looked like a zombie as she sat up, stretched, yawned, and then lazily threw on a jacket she found by her pillow.
A quick scan of the dorm room revealed that Tu Junhui and Xiong Da were still glued to their computer screens, intensely gaming.
A closer look at Tu Junhui’s screen showed they were diving deep into Monster Hunter: World.
Not long ago, Xiong Da’s birthday had prompted Chen Yao to gift him a collector’s set of Monster Hunter: World for PC, and Tu Junhui, despite the pain in his wallet, had also bought the game. Now, they were both hopelessly addicted.
At first glance, seeing them still engrossed in their game, Lin Nan nearly mistook it for the weekend. But a quick glance at the clock told her it was still just Friday.
Ugh, Aunt Flo is so annoying…
While her experience during that time wasn’t as dramatic as other girls—no leaks or bl**d-soaked sheets, and definitely no extra money spent on hygiene products—she was still pretty grumpy about the mild abdominal cramps and emotional changes that came with it.
She sluggishly crawled out of bed, still half-concussed, when Tu Junhui, who had just teamed up with Xiong Da to take down an Elder Dragon, turned around and froze upon seeing Lin Nan’s face.
“What’s up?” Lin Nan slipped on her slippers and shot him a puzzled glance. “Did you pull an all-nighter or something?”
“Not really… but why do you seem… strange today?” Tu Junhui squinted, bewildered. “You seem… more feminine?”
Lin Nan, not in the mood for his antics, chucked an empty water bottle from her desk in his direction. She had planned to give him a swift kick too, but the pain made lifting her leg a bit of a challenge.
“Idiot!”
She muttered, dismissing Tu Junhui’s teasing, and grabbed her toiletries, marching off to the balcony.
She got up so early but the abdominal pain squashed any hopes of more sleep.
Standing by the sink on the balcony, brushing her teeth, Lin Nan had this nagging feeling that something was off about her body.
After spitting out her toothpaste, she dashed into the bathroom with a basin to fill with warm water for washing her face. But just as she filled half the basin, it hit her.
Wait, my little buddy… has gone missing?!
She stared blankly at the bathroom wall, locked the door, and immediately yanked her pants down to take a look.
My underpants are empty…?
What used to represent her masculinity, her self-proclaimed status as a real man, had vanished overnight.
Her mind felt like it had exploded, leaving her utterly blank.
Lin Nan was dazed, gazing in disbelief at what she had never expected to encounter.
Even though she had mentally prepared herself the day before, knowing she had accidentally unlocked the “third magic” and could fully transform into a girl, facing the truth now felt downright surreal.
Lin Nan was fully aware that, biologically speaking, she had been female for a while now. Her body was equipped with all the right girl parts, even if they hadn’t developed to an eighteen-year-old level just yet.
But as long as that little Lin Nan feature hadn’t vanished yet, she felt like a dude.
And so for a while, she managed to live comfortably, convincing herself she was just a normal guy… just a bit of self-deception, really.
But this little mishap shattered her illusion.
The basin she was filling became too heavy to hold, slipping from her grasp and crashing to the floor. Water went flying everywhere, much to the dismay of the girl caught in the splash zone.
The sudden noise startled Tu Junhui inside the dorm. He poked his head out onto the balcony, eyeing the closed bathroom door and called in, “Lin Nan? What just crashed?”
“Nothing!” Lin Nan replied softly.
Tu Junhui felt like her tone was just off, but since he wasn’t known for his observational skills, he shrugged it off and went back to happily teaming up with Xiong Da to hunt another monster.
About half an hour later, after they finished off another beast, he turned to look for Lin Nan again, only to find her mysteriously absent.
Becoming uneasy, he stood up and made his way to the balcony, worry creeping in as he noticed the shadowy figure behind the frosted bathroom glass.
That figure was just standing there, motionless.
Tu Junhui knocked on the door, raising his voice, “Are you stuck in there?! Hurry up and get out!”
“Um.”
Though he received a response, the figure still didn’t budge. Feeling helpless, Tu Junhui looked back into the room just as Xiong Da approached out of curiosity.
“What’s going on?” Xiong Da scratched his balding head.
“Lin Nan seems to be having another moment of isolation,” Tu Junhui shrugged, exasperated. “Did someone upset her this morning?”
“Only you, I’d say?”
“Me?! Really?!” He exclaimed, pointing at his chubby face and widening his eyes, unsure if his earlier comment about Lin Nan being more feminine had hurt her feelings.
Despite his many flaws and propensity for joking around, Tu Junhui suddenly turned serious, knocking on the bathroom door again, “Hey, I shouldn’t have said that. My bad, okay? Just come out?”
“Hello? You there?” He turned back to Xiong Da, bewildered. “I think Lin Nan’s ignoring me.”
“Can’t figure her out,” Xiong Da shook his head, convinced that Lin Nan was becoming an enigma even to him.
They were just about to wake Chen Yao when the bathroom door finally swung open, and Lin Nan emerged, basin in hand, with pants that were half-soaked.
“What were you guys doing?” Lin Nan lifted her head, forcing a tight smile, “I was just getting some water.”
Tu Junhui couldn’t help but interject, “How can it take you half an hour to get water?!”
“I had an upset stomach earlier, so I was filling the basin,” she replied, pulling excuses out of thin air.
Stepping aside to dodge Tu Junhui, Lin Nan marched straight to the sink and looked down. “It’s already past seven; anyone want to join me for breakfast?”
As her long hair fell to either side, obscuring her face, Lin Nan could no longer maintain her composure.
She trembled slightly, but managed to maintain a calm tone, “I’m skipping class today, so Tu, you’re covering for me.”
“Skipping classes during finals?”
“Don’t you guys do the same during finals?”
Touché.
Oblivious to any ulterior motives, Tu Junhui scratched his head and disappeared back into the bathroom.
The real reason for his rush? Lin Nan had been in there for too long, and he was now getting a bit of abdominal discomfort himself.
Meanwhile, Xiong Da shot Lin Nan a concerned glance but kept his expression neutral as he walked away into their room.
“If you have something to say, just spit it out. If not, I’ll assume everything’s fine.”
Lin Nan’s body trembled even more at those words.
I wish I could say something… but how can I even speak such a thing out loud…

Author’s Note
==============================
Stop asking for updates; I’m all dried up.
I don’t have any stockpiled chapters left; I’ll finish writing another one this afternoon or evening.
The transformation plot seems a bit rushed—I originally planned to set it during winter break, but thinking it through, the protagonist has too much to experience during that time, cramming too much action in will be chaotic.
In the future, the author’s notes will be at the end of the chapters instead of within the chapters, since this is a paid chapter now.
I thought I’d only owe about two hundred this month, but it somehow shot up to one hundred fifty in just two days. I’m worried that I won’t be able to cover it all by the end, so I’ll temporarily close the bonus updates. Once I’m clear, I’ll reopen it. So if you’re considering giving monthly tickets as a nudge for updates, maybe hold off a bit.
Also, big thanks to the book lovers and loli fans for their generous ten-thousand rewards!
And of course, a huge thank you to all the readers who are still subscribed to this day.
