Chapter 518

Chapter 105: Manufacturing Misery

In a mysterious temple hidden in another dimension.

Three figures were chatting.

One was the Uncrowned Wanderer, another was Hilo, and the last was an unknown mysterious figure.

Hilo looked at the other two.

He couldn’t quite grasp why these two clowns were hanging out together.

Typically, First Generation Star Eclipses tend to go solo – they’re like lone wolves.

Just like the Dream Narrator and him: even if they had run into each other before, they’d split in a heartbeat, no buddy-cop antics involved!

Once you become a Star Eclipse, it’s like all your emotional baggage gets chucked overboard – no special bonds to speak of either.

Even if they both had the obsession to seek the Origin of the Stars, it would be a “me, myself, and I” situation.

Talk about freedom with a purpose!

But Hilo had the nagging feeling that these two had been working together for a while now.

It was practically against the rules of their lone-wolf existence!

The Uncrowned Wanderer seemed to read Hilo’s mind.

“Nothing strange about it! We’re just temporarily teaming up because we found a lead on the Origin of the Stars.”

Hilo could understand that.

A lead on the Origin of the Stars could definitely convince a lone wolf to play nice for a bit.

After all, he was brought to this place by the Uncrowned Wanderer and hadn’t left, all thanks to the Origin of the Stars.

If it weren’t for that, he could’ve left, and no one could’ve stopped him.

But he did learn a bit about the Origin of the Stars from the Uncrowned Wanderer.

Well, more like a breadcrumb!

In this temple, there was an energy entity that radiated the aura of the Origin of the Stars.

That was it!

The Uncrowned Wanderer said, “I stumbled upon this energy entity during my travels and brought it here. Aside from it having the vibe of the Origin, I have no idea what else it is, but this is the closest lead we have!”

Hilo had seen that energy entity too and sensed its aura, unmistakably the power of the Origin.

If he didn’t know what the true form of the Origin was, he might’ve almost mistaken that for the real deal!

After all, it’s been ages, and during this long stretch, it was the only time he sensed the existence of the Origin from that energy entity.

Then the mysterious figure spoke up.

“Is there a chance that it’s actually the Origin itself?”

Hilo shook his head. “No way, the aura is too weak.”

“Nothing’s truly impossible! I bet you’ve roamed this entire planet in your long lives—maybe not every nook, but close enough! But in all that time, did you find anything about the Origin?”

The mysterious figure’s words had Hilo falling silent.

Clearly not.

All these years.

No one had stumbled upon any leads about the Origin of the Stars, except for the Uncrowned Wanderer’s lucky find of that energy entity with the Origin vibe.

The mysterious figure cracked a smile.

“So if we rule out all the impossibilities, it might just be the Origin itself! Why it’s in that form, well, beats me.”

The Uncrowned Wanderer and Hilo fell silent, not bothering to refute the mysterious figure’s wild theory.

“Assuming you’re right, how do we get it back to normal?”

“Beats me.”

What a stellar answer!

I mean, considering they only had that one flimsy lead, they could only work with it.

Roaming the world lost another excuse.

Then Hilo muttered three words.

“Wish Machine.”

Those three words snagged the attention of the other two.

The Uncrowned Wanderer instantly knew what Hilo meant; a small figure flashed in his mind.

“Are you thinking of asking her? But you should know, she’s in a pretty weak state right now, no way she could pull that off. She’ll take ages to grow up.”

“Trade is an option.”

The Uncrowned Wanderer chuckled softly at Hilo’s logic.

“You think that kind of power can grow like weeds? An ability so close to the Origin standards? I doubt that power isn’t something the Origin created. You really think you can make it grow fast enough?”

Hilo went silent, seemingly stumped.

Maybe the Uncrowned Wanderer had a point—no amount of bargaining chips could force that growth.

Getting swallowed up by an unknown force could actually happen.

If that kind of power could casually reach its peak, it would be the ultimate game-breaking bug!

The mysterious figure interjected, “You two blabbed so much, I didn’t understand a word! What in the world are you talking about?”

The Uncrowned Wanderer replied, “We forgot to mention that there’s another ability out there that can rival the creation of the Origin. It’s called the All-Knowing Wish Machine. I only just found out about it!”

“Seriously? That’s a thing?”

The mysterious figure expressed genuine shock.

“Is that also a power created by the Origin?”

“Maybe not; it could be an equal power to the Origin. Only the Origin would know where it came from.”

Though “all-knowing” sounded extremely tempting, it didn’t stir the desires of the three Star Eclipses present.

They weren’t human, and they wouldn’t squabble over something just because of their personal whims.

The obsessions buried deep in their souls were something they achieved themselves.

So the so-called Wish Machine was about as appealing to them as a weed by the roadside—no allure whatsoever.

Right now, their priority was finding the Origin of the Stars.

No matter what, they had to accomplish that mission, like it was a task bestowed upon them at birth!

The mysterious figure quickly grasped what had been said by the Uncrowned Wanderer and Hilo.

“So you two want to find the Origin through the All-Knowing power?”

Hilo nodded lightly. “That was my original thought.”

“But the person with that kind of power is too weak to truly be all-knowing. Helping us? Yeah, we’d be waiting a while.”

“Then why don’t we help her grow?” the mysterious figure suggested with a grin.

“You wanna grow her like a weed too?”

“No, I mean create an opportunity for her to grow, or… spark a trial to unlock her potential! The odds tell me that’s a high possibility.”

The reason people don’t grow is they never encounter the right opportunity.

Someone might unleash terrifying power in dire situations—there’s potential to be exploited!

If the one rocked in a cradle is taken out of a safe haven and left to face hardships and dilemmas, that’s when their potential is maximally unleashed.

Without growing in misfortune, they d*e in it!

It all depended on how great a potential the one in misery held.

Meanwhile, the Uncrowned Wanderer and Hilo fell into deep thought, pondering the potential of this plan.

“Seems feasible.”

……

The scene shifted back to Waltonka.

The Rising Sun Theater Group was gearing up for their Grand Performance.

Kong Yu Bai and Qing Liao, the world’s songstresses, were collaborating on a song for the big show.

During this time, the Group Leader and the others started practicing their vocal skills.

Recently, the theater was echoing with a cacophony of unique singing voices. It was hilariously entertaining.

“Everyone’s singing sounds incredible~”

Well, Night Star was definitely enjoying the show!
