After Li Na sent a message to Lin Nan, she helplessly glanced at the young man in black next to her.
She had nothing to say to this young man, so she pouted and used magic to once again transfer her consciousness into the distant Sprite.
Meanwhile, the Sprite, lying on the ground, suddenly lifted her head, wearing a teasing expression as she glanced at Lilith. Lilith felt like a nightmare was upon her, and her fur stood on end in fear.
Although Li Na’s consciousness was occupying the Sprite, and Lilith’s soul was in the Cola cat, the two could only meow meaninglessly when they tried to communicate.
Cat-to-cat communication relies on body language, which neither of them understood, resulting in Lilith merely suspecting that the White Cat was Li Na but lacking any solid proof.
That White Cat! Definitely sent by Li Na to keep an eye on things!
And this Black Cat, nine times out of ten, must be Lilith!
The two cats exchanged glances. Li Na unceremoniously raised her paw and gave Lilith a pat on the head. Now feeling quite meek, Lilith didn’t dare act too sly and lowered her head, letting it happen multiple times.
Feeling a bit dizzy… she swayed her body.
Noticing that Lilith wasn’t responding, Li Na couldn’t help but feel confused. It seemed like Lilith had been hiding pretty well; if she hadn’t previously caught Cola watching a drama while meowing commentary at Chen Yao’s house, she wouldn’t have questioned a cat at all.
After all, no matter how you think about it, you wouldn’t believe Lilith was a witch hiding inside a cat’s body.
Yet, here we are.
Over several days, Li Na clearly noticed that Lilith was gradually gaining magical power, likely absorbing a small amount of magic unconsciously emanating from Lin Nan.
She padded over and buried her head into Cola’s embrace, inhaling that familiar magical aura, feeling even more convinced it was Lilith.
Lilith froze for a moment, but then remembered this cat was male, and she relaxed.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right time of month; otherwise, she’d take the opportunity to experience a different life.
If only it were the right time of month, I would have already had my way with Lilith.
Both cats’ minds began racing in the same direction.
Lilith didn’t want to overdo it; she merely extended her tongue and gave the Black Cat a lick, savoring the moment.
Suddenly, Li Na sprang to her feet, bouncing after Lin Nan as she entered the house.
Lin Nan glanced back at her with confusion, muttering to herself, “Why are you following me? I’m going to take a shower…”
“Together! Together!”
Li Na could clearly see the excitement in this cat’s eyes and was momentarily taken aback, but she didn’t dig any deeper and simply turned back towards the third floor.
Her cousins’ barbecue skills were terrible—slow and unappetizing—so Lin Nan, lacking the patience to wait any longer, planned to take a shower and then whip up a bowl of noodles to fill her stomach.
She was indeed a bit hungry, but she had never considered any magic that could temporarily suppress her appetite; after all, eating was also a life goal for her.
What she really wanted was magic that speeds up digestion without adding weight.
Since becoming Chen Yao’s girlfriend, Lin Nan had finally started caring about her weight and figure. In the past, she enjoyed browsing pictures of beautiful women, but now, just looking at them made her envious to the point of fury.
If someone of that caliber showed up next to Chen Yao, he’d definitely lose his mind!
“I need to come up with a spell to improve my figure… sitting down there’s always that little pooch.” Lin Nan murmured as she touched her flat stomach while making her way up.
Though she had no belly while standing, if she laid back too much, the higher fat percentage would result in a little roll.
She wanted a set of fish-like lines!
Too bad Chen Yao, her human tool, wasn’t around. Now that she was his girlfriend, Lin Nan certainly didn’t plan on letting other men take advantage of her; at least, the possibility of charming her counselor never arose again.
Back in her bedroom, she glanced at her phone, confirming that Chen Yao hadn’t messaged her, before grabbing a cat-themed pajamas from her bedside and heading to the bathroom.
However, she found Sprite already waiting inside.
“What? You want to shower?” Lin Nan was taken aback.
“No! I want to watch you shower!”
This cat meowed in a manner very reminiscent of the former Cola, as if it were actually conversing with someone.
But lately, Cola seemed a lot denser, with nothing much on its mind except eating and sleeping, lacking the previous cleverness and liveliness.
As they were speaking, Cola popped its head in, lost interest upon seeing Lin Nan prepare to shower, and instead dashed into the bedroom, grabbing the last can of cat food and bolting away.
Who knew that the cat which once detested the cans had turned into this lazy bum?
Lin Nan casually tossed Sprite out of the bathroom, quickly shutting the door, when she suddenly spotted another bright blue cat eye peeking through the door crack.
This bathroom had no windows; the only ventilation came from gaps at the bottom of the wooden door. Lin Nan recalled that as a child, she had once been spied on by Liu Xinyi while showering here. Who would’ve thought that this time it’d be Sprite doing the peeping?
Remembering this incident, Lin Nan realized that her cousin’s creepiness was definitely not a recent phenomenon; if she wasn’t so cute and a girl, she would have likely been behind bars for indecent exposure long ago.
Scowling, Lin Nan prepared to open the door and shoo away the cat, only to see another set of eyes appearing through the crack.
“Liu! Xin! Yi!” She kicked the door open and glared at the man wearing all black who crouched outside.
“???”
The man slowly lifted his head to look at Lin Nan, and they stared at each other in silence for a while.
Who is this? A perverted peeper? A thief?
Lin Nan stepped back in horror, momentarily forgetting she could turn invisible.
Taking a deep breath, she planned to scream.
But she watched in disbelief as the man’s knees buckled, and he knelt on the ground, his head knocking against the floor.
“???”
Suddenly bowing so deeply scared Lin Nan white; she jumped aside, her mind racing with questions, choking her prepared scream back down.
“Mom! I’ve been looking for you so hard!”
“What?”
Sprite facepalmed in disbelief from the side.
Cola, who had just planned to carry the cat food downstairs to find someone to help open the door, stood there gaping.
The cat food can dropped to the ground, but Cola’s face was still filled with confusion.
Lin Nan pointed at her own face, unable to believe as she asked, “Did you just call me what?”
Are thieves nowadays really this bold? Caught by the owner, they just bow down and call “Mom”?
