The Next Morning
==============================
The morning sunlight streamed into the slightly messy bedroom.
The air in the room felt as if it had a faint pink hue.
Lin Nan woke up, completely dazed.
As usual, she yawned and stretched her body in bed, only to suddenly realize that Chen Yao’s hand was once again inappropriately resting on her chest.
Moreover, her legs were sore and painful, especially at the roots, giving her an uncomfortable feeling.
Glancing at Chen Yao sleeping beside her, she couldn’t help it—she lifted her foot and gave him a good kick.
Chen Yao was jolted awake, blinking in confusion as he turned to look at Lin Nan. After a brief silence, he suddenly teased her, “Want to get it on this early in the morning?”
“Get lost!”
Lin Nan angrily rolled over, turning her back to him.
“Why so mad? You seemed pretty… excited yesterday…” Before he could finish, Chen Yao was kicked out of bed, landing on the floor. Rubbing his head sheepishly, he stood up and asked, “Want breakfast? Gotta replenish your energy!”
“Just go away!” Lin Nan’s face turned crimson.
Last night she had taken a shower and changed into her pajamas, so she wasn’t completely undressed, but just seeing Chen Yao made her feel utterly embarrassed, struggling to believe what had happened. It felt like a dream and she was left baffled, wondering if she had just foolishly given it away.
But feeling the soreness and pain in her body confirmed it—she had really been… you know!
By her childhood buddy no less!
Is this what they call becoming a girl and treating the friends to a sweet time first?
Chen Yao stretched, noticing Lin Nan’s shy demeanor, and backed off, realizing he had already hit the jackpot last night, so it was fine for her to be mad now.
Though he couldn’t quite understand why Lin Nan was angry when she seemed to enjoy herself last night.
Shouldn’t she be waking up and clinging to him for more?
He went into the bathroom to wash up, casually asking Lin Nan, “Are you going to your part-time job this afternoon?”
“Let’s see,” Lin Nan tried to get out of bed, but the pain made her movements awkward. After frowning and standing for a moment, she unhesitatingly crawled back into her cocoon of blankets. “I’ll see if it still hurts this afternoon. If it doesn’t, then I’ll go.”
“What do you want for breakfast? I’ll go get it.”
Lin Nan noticed that Chen Yao’s tone had become gentler since last night.
What a lecher!
She furrowed her brow, contemplating a clever slice of revenge on him, “I want dim sum!”
Chen Yao blinked, recalling the nearby shops, and shook his head in distress, “All we have nearby are meat buns and steamed buns. Where’s the dim sum?”
“Then go farther away and get it for me.”
“Alright, I can take the bus. I know a good place for dim sum nearby.” Chen Yao wiped his face and turned around to see Lin Nan curled up in the blankets like a little kitten, smiling gently, “It’ll probably take an hour. You can catch a few more Zs.”
If he hadn’t mentioned it, Lin Nan wouldn’t have felt tired, but once Chen Yao brought it up, she suddenly felt drowsiness creeping in.
She really had exhausted herself yesterday.
If it weren’t for the magic that improved her flexibility, her legs would have probably been broken last night.
Not gentle at all!
Lin Nan shot him a glare, while Chen Yao looked puzzled, wondering where he had once again upset his girlfriend.
But he didn’t think much of it, his mind swirling with memories of last night, considering how Lin Nan’s flexibility might unlock some new positions in the future.
But since Lin Nan was so shy, it might not be easy to get cooperation.
After washing up, he leaned in closer, grinning from ear to ear, and asked Lin Nan, “So, what do you want for your dim sum?”
“Meat! I heard the chicken feet in dim sum are especially delicious.”
“What’s in it for me if I bring it back?” Chen Yao’s grin widened.
Lin Nan looked up at his familiar grin, recalling how he had tricked her yesterday with that same creepy expression reminiscent of a guy trying to lure a child with candy.
She immediately went on high alert, wrapping herself tighter in the blanket, “What are you getting at?”
“How about we do something interesting tonight?”
Lin Nan felt like this guy was waving a lollipop at her trying to entice her, but she was a grown-up now and was hardly swayed by such temptation.
“Get lost!”
“I’ll treat you to grilled fish! Delivery grilled fish! You won’t even have to leave the house! Totally delicious!” Chen Yao assured her earnestly, “Dim sum for breakfast, I’ll cook something yummy for you for lunch, and in the evening, we’ll order a grilled fish! You’ll be well-fed the whole day!”
Lin Nan realized her mouth was surprisingly watering, hesitating for a moment.
This lollipop… might be a bit sweet, huh?
It had been a while since she had grilled fish.
The last time might’ve been at Uncle’s place last year, or was it during a gathering with her roommates?
She couldn’t remember clearly, but she knew she liked it—just that it was a bit pricey.
Chen Yao pressed his advantage: “When have I ever lied to you? How about grilled fish and barbecue tonight? Or a hot pot? I saw that there are little hot pots available for delivery; they’re not that expensive.”
“You lied to me last night!” This time Lin Nan blew up, kicking out at him again.
For crying out loud, everything was pretty heated back then—who had time to think so much? Of course, he would just try to trick her!
Chen Yao, feeling justified in his explanation but still a little sheepish, awkwardly blocked Lin Nan’s kicking foot, “I’m going to get your dim sum. Be back in an hour.”
With that, he rushed out of the room, the sound of the door closing echoing in his wake.
“Crazy person,” Lin Nan mumbled while curling up in her blankets. Suddenly, she remembered something and sprang up, blanket still wrapped around her, looking down at the bedsheets.
Sure enough, there was a glaring red smudge on the sheets.
It wasn’t early in the month, so it couldn’t possibly be Aunt Flo’s, leaving only the remnants of last night’s calamity.
That guy! He not only took all but didn’t clean up! What a j*rk!
Fuming, Lin Nan got out of bed and quickly tidied up the sheets, grumbling complaints about Chen Yao. But as she moved, she realized the pain wasn’t just localized.
Looking down at her body, she discovered multiple faint bruises—whether they were from accidental pinches by Chen Yao or, as they are called, love bites, she couldn’t tell.
But whatever they were, Lin Nan was fuming!
She felt like she had been cheated big time!
If she were a pufferfish at this moment, she would’ve exploded!
“Couldn’t do some cleaning up? Now I’m covered in wounds!” Lin Nan took a deep breath, balled up the torn sheets like they were Chen Yao, and tossed them angrily into the laundry bucket, hitting them a few times for good measure.
Not doing it again in this lifetime!
So painful!
After she cleaned everything up, Lin Nan returned to bed, feeling exhausted and sighed. But then she suddenly remembered the feelings she had last night aside from the pain.
Unless he gets me some good food, hmm.
