### Chapter 635: The First Day
It was the couple’s first day of marriage, and they both slept until noon.
Chen Yao was the first to wake up, propping himself up on the bed.
The bedroom was softly illuminated, with a large sliding glass door on one side letting in dim yellow light through the curtains.
He glanced at the massive double bed, where the crimson comforter was in complete disarray. Lin Nan was cocooned in a thick blanket, peacefully lying beside him.
The blanket was cuddly enough to cover her chin, leaving just half her face visible, framed by a messy halo of brown hair sprawled on the pillow. The air conditioning was set to a chilling sixteen degrees, and both enjoyed sleeping snugly under thick blankets like this.
Ah, and the person under that blanket was wearing absolutely nothing.
Yet, Chen Yao felt no romantic inclinations; rather, it was the first time he discovered how wild a drunk Lin Nan could really be.

He clutched his side as he got up, stumbled into the bathroom, and grumbled under his breath.
Last night was a catastrophe.
He’d been with Lin Nan for a few years now, and each time they encountered an intimate moment, she’d always acted shy and reluctant, which matched her personality well. But her sensitivity said otherwise; a little coaxing and she was all in.
But last night, this girl went completely off the rails after a few drinks, making him feel a bit overwhelmed.

His legs felt weak.

After washing up, he still felt dazed and began considering if he should hit the gym during their daily noon breaks.
As he came out of the bathroom, he glanced at the bedside and noticed Lin Nan was awake, sitting up but still clutching the comforter with a dazed look.
Her face had a healthy flush, as if she was glowing with vitality.
Is she absorbing sun energy or something?
Moments later, she seemed to recall the madness of last night and her fair cheeks turned bright red, making her hastily lower her head.
“Should I go downstairs and make lunch for you?”
“Uh…”
Chen Yao forced a smile, suspicious that he might not be able to meet Lin Nan’s physical needs.
He absolutely had to hit the gym; otherwise, their encounters would stop being a pleasant duo activity and turn into a chore instead.
With a gloomy expression, he left the room. As soon as he closed the door, Lin Nan slammed her fists down on the bed.
Her face danced between red and white as she recalled last night’s events, too embarrassed to look up.

It’s all Lilith’s fault!
Even if Lilith’s memories no longer influenced Lin Nan’s personality, the impact still lingered. She had been striving to uphold her reserved image, terrified she might turn into a flirt like Lilith.

And then she got tipsy last night and it all got exposed.

She threw off the blanket to reveal her unclothed self and scrambled to put on clothes from the nightstand, taking a deep breath and casting a calming spell to finally tone down the blush on her face.
When Chen Yao went downstairs, he discovered that both sets of parents had already arrived, and lunch was ready, featuring an impressive spread of over a dozen dishes on the dining table.
Lin Nan’s mother maintained a decent relationship with the homeroom teacher, and there hadn’t been major disputes over the years. Plus, Lin Nan’s mother was kind-hearted and got along well with the teacher’s son.
As for Chen Yao’s parents, they remained the same—he’d always thought his father was too submissive, completely controlled by his mother, like a classic henpecked husband.
But now that he was married, he realized that it wasn’t about being henpecked; it was simply a matter of choosing to concede in terms of power dynamics for the sake of love.
Moreover, his mother’s rule was ultimately for his father’s own good.
As soon as he stepped down, Lin Nan’s mother greeted him with a knowing smile and came over excitedly, holding a bowl of pig kidney soup. “Where’s Nan Nan? Is she still sleeping?”
“She’s upstairs washing up. She’ll be down in a bit.”
Her mother scrutinized Chen Yao’s tired appearance with a smile, then her gaze shifted upward just in time to see Lin Nan coming down the stairs.
Their daughter looked radiant and full of life, especially compared to Chen Yao, who appeared slightly unsteady on his feet. With this contrast, Lin Nan’s mother nodded approvingly—it seemed the grandkids were just around the corner.
Uncle and Aunt were clearly in agreement, beaming as they pulled Lin Nan into their grasp, showering her with concern before dragging her to the dining room and piling high-end nourishing foods onto her plate.
“Eat up! Don’t forget the old hen soup; it should be ready soon. Remember to drink it after the meal!” Aunt grinned so wide her eyes nearly disappeared. Then, she turned her disdainful gaze towards Chen Yao as he walked in.
It looked like he might need a trip to the hospital.
Just one night of fun and he looked like this.
Chen Yao caught the judgmental stare from Aunt and, being an adult himself, immediately understood what she was thinking.
But with no way to voice his feelings, he dutifully sat beside Lin Nan.
“Finish that pig kidney soup quickly! Once you’re done, go refill it from the pot!” Aunt shoved a plate of stir-fried chives in front of Chen Yao. After a brief hesitation, she tossed a few oysters next to him as well.
Ultimately, she placed the remainder of the oysters neatly in front of Lin Nan, chuckling, “Eat more oysters! They’re our beauty treatments!”
It was like a men’s gas station too.
Lin Nan was already fond of oysters, and those fresh ones bought directly from the farm by Uncle were particularly juicy and mouthwatering.
But she also knew what the elders were getting at; since Chen Yao didn’t find a condom last night, it was already enough to raise suspicions, and now they were being all warm and fuzzy with her.
Though not explicitly stated, it was clear they hoped Lin Nan would have a baby soon.

Too lazy to shower before bed, she had just used Purification Magic to clean herself, avoiding any messy sheets at night.

But now that they were married, the dowry and bride price had happily filled their joint pockets, and they found themselves in a financial sweet spot.
They spent a full hour finishing lunch, during which the homeroom teacher attempted to share a drink with Chen Yao again, but the sight of alcohol turned Chen Yao pale as he quickly declined, even asking the teacher to pack away all the white and red wine that had been brought over.
Once or twice was fine, but if Lin Nan kept partying like last night every time, he’d be dried up in a month!
