Chapter 93: Study It, Enlighten It
During the live broadcast, Xu Xiaoyue tried every trick in the book to inch closer to Little Loli, but all her attempts were effortlessly dodged.
She reached out, wanting to hold her hand, but Little Loli’s arms were crossed like she was guarding some secret treasure.
She thought about giving her head a little pat, only to see Little Loli sprint off to admire the flowers by the roadside.
And a hug? Forget about it!
Though Xu Xiaoyue’s little gestures were careful and discreet, to Xu Xiaofeng’s keen perception, they stood out like a beautifully undressed maiden.
There was no way she could let Xu Xiaoyue succeed.
Gradually, some viewers in the comments noticed these antics and began to share their confusion.
“Isn’t Xiaoyue super close with Little Sister? Why does it feel so distant?”
Xu Xiaoyue immediately shot back, “Of course we’re close!”
“Close, you say? I know the truth—you lured her in with a piece of candy!”
Xu Xiaoyue’s face turned a shade of crimson: “What do you mean ‘lured’? It’s a transaction, not a scam! Civilized people don’t scam!”
“HAHAHA” flooded the comments section in a matter of seconds.
Now, the crowd had found new entertainment. They were eagerly waiting to see when Xiaoyue would finally charm Nuclear Bomb Little Sister.
Even though Xu Xiaoyue spoke softly while chatting in the comments, Xu Xiaofeng caught every word. Plus, with her live room broadcast open, she had all the action covered.
Inside, she chuckled to herself, silly sister, you better step it up! This is all for my stream, and it’s worth cash!
As the stream was wrapping up, Xu Xiaofeng suggested it was time to call it a day, but Xu Xiaoyue still hadn’t made any progress.
Unable to contain herself, she straight-up asked, “Sister, do you think I’m doing something wrong? You always seem to be dodging me!”
“Not your sister! Technically, I should be calling myself your boss. Yes! Boss!” Xu Xiaofeng declared with playful seriousness.
“And I’m not dodging you; I just noticed you aren’t taking your work seriously. Hmm, thought I should give you a little reminder.”
Xu Xiaoyue was left dumbfounded: “Huh?”
After that, like a magician with a disappearing act, Xu Xiaofeng was gone.
No more explanations, because there was nothing to explain.
I’m just throwing around random words; figure it out yourself. If you manage to get it, I’ll switch it up next time.
That’s how workplace PUA works: if you can’t figure it out, keep trying; if you do, I’ll change the riddle.
Watching Little Loli leave, Xu Xiaoyue deflated like a popped balloon, collapsing in on herself.
She couldn’t wrap her head around it, what was the deal?
The comments exploded with mocking words and all sorts of bizarre laughter.
After a moment of contemplation, she finally lifted her head: “Outsider’s view! Friends, help me analyze!”
And just like that, all manner of seemingly logical nonsense analysis appeared.
“Just teach the kid a lesson! A good smack will do the trick!” “Use some pressure on the boss! Can’t let her get too comfortable!”
Even the wildest theories, like menopause and Alzheimer’s, were thrown into the mix.
Can’t blame them; that’s the internet for you—imagination runs wild with infinite ways to pull you into the abyss.
In despair, Xu Xiaoyue remembered she had an insider.
Quickly, she shot off a message.
“Brother! You’ve got to help me! Did you watch the stream? Little Sister is always on guard against me! What should I do?”
Meanwhile, Xu Xiaofeng was tucked away in a quiet corner, watching the stream and chuckling to herself, clutching her belly in laughter.
Then she saw her sister’s message.
After a moment of thought, she replied, “Didn’t watch. If you think she’s being unfair, why not try raising her affection level?”
The moment those words hit, it was like a lightning bolt striking Xu Xiaoyue’s brain—she suddenly got it.
Right! The affection level is key in this game! I got so sidetracked by how nice Little Sister was to me that I completely forgot about affection!
What’s Little Sister’s affection level toward me right now?
The answer is a big fat zero.
How am I supposed to make any progress with that?!
Xu Xiaoyue’s sudden epiphany showed in her expression, and the audience picked up on it.
“What’s up with the streamer?”
“Did you think of something?”
Snapping back to reality, Xu Xiaoyue glanced at the comments and smirked, “Of course I did.”
“Spill it, spill it!”
“What brilliant insight do you have?”
“Not telling.” Xu Xiaoyue raised her chin defiantly, “Just watch my moves tomorrow.”
“Then compare them to your suggestions. What a load of nonsense! Some even suggested ‘drink more hot water’—totally never been in love, have you?”
The last line landed like a thousand jabs, hitting all the friends in the chat hard.
Even Xu Xiaofeng, lurking on the sidelines, was caught in the fray. She felt like…
“I can’t watch this anymore, I’m out!”
Xu Xiaofeng ended the stream and returned to her own agenda.
She changed into some inconspicuous clothes and set off to check on the bandit group’s base.
With so many players in Emerald City, it was a challenge to sneak out during the day without being noticed.
Thankfully, she had snagged a special cloak from Steven, which supposedly could completely hide one’s features.
Normal stealth methods don’t work on players because, even if you manage to hide your appearance, they can always see your ID floating above your head.
But with this cloak, it felt as if she was tossing the ID sign away entirely.
“Looks like Steven’s got some use after all.”
Xu Xiaofeng spread her arms and twirled around to check herself out, confirming everything was in order before stepping out.
Players encountered along the way gave her only the occasional puzzled glance; there were no longer any crowds gathering around her.
She successfully left the city.
Just as she was about to exit the city gates, for some odd reason, the guards saluted her.
Upon arriving at the base, she found the players had just wrapped up a round and were momentarily idle.
“Who’s that!”
“Me?” Xu Xiaofeng removed her hood, “Pretty good! Your alertness has improved!”
“Haha, big sis, what a coincidence! Here’s our income from this period. The guys already got their split, this is all yours.”
“Great.” Xu Xiaofeng accepted without hesitation. With a mere wave of her hand, the mountain of gold coins vanished.
Others watched in confusion, unsure why the coins had disappeared, but they weren’t shocked. They all knew it was just Big Sis collecting her dues.
Gotta say, player inventories are a marvelous thing; otherwise, carrying all these coins would take forever!
“Is there anything going on over here? I’ve got the background support in Emerald City, so any issues can be handled.”
Background support, of course, refers to our invincible, enthusiastic, beautiful, and well-endowed sister Elia!
“No problems here, really. Those outsiders are quite cooperative; we often see them taking care of the nearby magical beasts.”
“Well, that’s good.”
“Oh, by the way, Big Sis, when you have time, could you visit our village? Many villagers want to meet you!”
“Meet me?” Xu Xiaofeng thought for a bit, then nodded, “Sure, I’ll check it out.”
She was curious to see how the shabby mountain cave that once housed over a hundred people turned out now.
If they could show smiles, it would warm Xu Xiaofeng’s heart even more.
