### Chapter 114: Elia Joins the Battle
As more and more rich guys jumped into the action, the gamblers started to get a little too eager.
“Look at them drawing for so long without any purple! Isn’t it time for some purple luck to shine?”
Even if no purples came out, a four-star, special effect blue gear still had a horde of people ready to fight over it.
Xu Xiaofeng had a keen eye for who she was giving out boxes to. If someone was just loafing around and planning to spend 400 gold coins only to save a few copper coins, she’d gently nudge them with a little caution.
“Big Brother, our chances of getting something good aren’t that high, you sure you wanna go for it?”
If they didn’t listen, well, no skin off her nose.
Letting go of her helper streak, she respected the fate of others.
Anyway, folks with such tendencies wouldn’t make her money, they’d just hand it to someone else.
In the meantime, some well-meaning NPCs squeezed into the mix, eager to experience this brand-new gameplay.
Xu Xiaofeng was all for it.
An hour and a half into the morning, a total of over four thousand items had been drawn.
At the start, the rich guys opened boxes slowly, trying to savor the surprise, but as time went on, they got more skilled and jaded. All that was left on their minds was “Let’s get to the next round faster and hope for some purple!”
Right, out of those four thousand pieces of gear, only a mere five purples had popped up. That’s a probability of just over 0.1%.
But hold up! The formula clearly stated the probability was 0.6%.
Sure, probability doesn’t equal frequency, but come on!
Some hot-headed players started to holler about how the game was rigged, about fraud, and calling for refunds.
Yet, the loudest complainers were usually just bystanders. The real players cashing in were chill as could be.
As for whether that probability was indeed true… well, that was a mix of truth and fiction.
With a total of one hundred pieces of purple gear among nearly 100,000 items, even knowing half the equipment and just having rolled out the pool, the underlying chances designed by Xu Xiaofeng were still only 0.3%.
But hey, I wrote it as 0.6%. What are you gonna do about it? If you can’t draw anything, just admit your luck stinks. If you think the probability’s low, then don’t go drawing!
But oh boy, were those players’ faces truly unlucky.
Even a 0.3% chance should’ve yielded around twelve purples from four thousand draws, yet they only got five.
The first one had gone to the Uranium Chef and was reclaimed by Xu Xiaofeng. The other four were all with the big guild leader.
For the first person who hugged him, the other four kept a polite, restrained handshake. To them, it was just a formality—the increase in favorability was what really mattered.
Cross my heart, Xu Xiaofeng hadn’t pulled any shenanigans here.
Oh, and by the way, the four didn’t include Fiery Conflict Across the Sky—he was still a big fat zero.
No need to panic! Fiery Conflict Across the Sky remained cool as a cucumber.
Meanwhile, Xu Xiaofeng still diligently served as her little helper when suddenly, she caught a familiar female voice.
“Please, give me ten.”
Looking up, she saw two elegantly veiled big sisters—one with golden hair and the other with flaxen locks.
As she squinted a little more, the names were beautifully clear: Elia and Amelia.
“Jie…” Xu Xiaofeng was just about to call out when Elia placed a finger to her lips.
“Shhh~”
Xu Xiaofeng nodded, “Ten it is, please!”
NPCs participating in box draws were still quite a rarity, especially when both were strikingly beautiful female NPCs.
Although they were masked and conservatively dressed, that sure didn’t stop the LSP players’ eyes from doing the wandering.
With their gorgeous curves and elegantly simple yet refined outfits, they emanated an understated charm.
These were definitely high-rated beauties!
“I don’t think I’ve seen these two NPCs before. A beauty like that, you’d think they’d leave an impression right away.”
“With so many NPCs in town, you can’t possibly know them all, can you?”
“Not every single one, but I’ve definitely seen the better looking ones.”
“Oh? And you are?”
“Li Jiba, the one who’s been ranking NPC beauties in the forums.”
“The one from that NPC beauty list? My apologies!”
There’s always some players who dive into games with bizarre motives. Compared to grinding to collect stones, players grinding hard just to see beautiful women seemed more normal.
That so-called NPC beauty list was a hit on the forums.
Not only did it include pictures of NPCs, but it also listed encounters for others to meet them.
It had a “leg” version too, which focused on, you guessed it, just the legs! The leg version was even more popular than the original!
But regardless of either version, the NPC Little Girl wasn’t ranked number one, but rather a delightful headliner.
Now, two more NPCs might just make an entry on that list, dubbed Masked Lady 1 and 2.
But that’s a story for later.
Players were gasping at the beauty of the NPCs but were even more shocked at their luck!
“Whoa! Purple light!”
“Whoa! Not just one purple!”
“Ten draws and two five-stars! Is this real?! Are we still allowed to play?”
“Wait, in this game’s lore there are really gods. Could it be that this drawing is linked to the Goddess of Luck?”
“Should I go pray to the gods now?!”
In truth, it was all Xu Xiaofeng’s doing!
That’s right, folks, it was a shady operation.
Sister drawing cards? Well, of course, you gotta give her the good stuff! Plus, it sends a message to these players—my probabilities are just fine; it’s your luck that stinks!
Although the box numbers were indeed chosen by Sister Elia, Xu Xiaofeng had control over what was inside!
Don’t forget, this was in her controlled Teleportation Array. She knew which boxes had purples, and with a flick of her finger, who would notice the switch?
The world may have gods in it, but not a Goddess of Luck. Luck is just an elusive concept beyond anyone’s control.
Even with Golden Eyes, you might see, but you can’t change fate.
“Congratulations! Sister, you truly are favored by the Goddess of Luck!”
Elia stood to the side, listening to the excitement and discussions from the players while watching Amelia pull gear from the boxes. She turned to Xu Xiaofeng and asked, “Is it really the Goddess of Luck?”
“Yeah, absolutely! Or else, what do you think?”
“Otherwise, I thought someone might be playing tricks. Guess I was overthinking.”
“Hehe…” Xu Xiaofeng mischievously winked at Elia with her left eye.
Looks like her little gesture slipped a bit, but Elia was quite sharp!
“Let’s put the stuff back in the box, shall we?” Elia gestured to Amelia.
Those items didn’t catch her interest; she was here to have fun with her sister.
So…
“According to the rules, can’t I hug you?”
“Sure, double hugs!”
“Alright!”
Then Elia scooped Xu Xiaofeng up in one swift move, took two steps to sit where Xu Xiaofeng was, and then settled Xu Xiaofeng into her embrace.
“You go on with your event, I won’t disturb you.”
Xu Xiaofeng: …
Xu Xiaoyue: !!!
The audience: Holy cow!
