Chapter 141: Embrace the Holy Light
Yuliya was stepping on her grandson who had just ambushed her, while simultaneously scolding the other grandson for not letting her ambush him.
Suddenly, she felt something was off beneath her feet.
Instinctively, she took a few steps back.
In the next moment, a thick cloud of black energy swept through, accompanied by a putrid stench.
Although Yuliya had stepped back in time, she still got a good whiff.
“Yue!”
Once the smell dissipated, she glanced at No. 1.
Dude… why are you going so berserk?
Taking another look at his health bar, well, half of it was gone.
Half a health bar in berserk mode, that made sense.
But hang on, aside from those two hits earlier and the first two at the start, this guy had been hiding in the back taking cheap shots without taking any hits!
How did your health drop by half?
Looking closer, she noticed that the Chaotic Contaminator’s health was continuously declining in its berserk state.
Then she spotted No. 4 who had been berserk for a while—good grief, his health was down to 40%.
The other two were still bouncing around at over 80% health.
She thought she understood.
The Chaotic Contaminators’ powers came at the cost of their life force. That black energy was essentially the manifestation of their energy, also a display of their vitality.
They were strong—definitely the toughest among elite monsters. But the price of their power was the cost of life.
What a tempting yet deadly poison.
Yuliya shook her head in resignation.
She remembered the Demon Hunter from the Heroic Tower.
The Hunter’s state was that of a Chaotic Infected, which was slightly better than the Chaotic Contaminator, but they shared many properties.
Both exchanged life for power.
However, the Hunter was my buddy, a hero who could enter the Heroic Tower, while these guys in front of me, no matter what their pasts or experiences might be, since they stood in front of me as enemies, they deserved to be wiped out.
I’ll only offer a moment of silence for you all after it’s over.
“Well then, it’s clear now, time to wrap this up.”
Yuliya waved and took out a hammer from her backpack.
This weapon had been picked from the corpse of a bishop in the last church.
Though its attributes were just average, the damage was about the same as punching, but boy, did she like the look of it.
【Item Name: Righteousness of the Holy Light (Weapon)
Item Rarity: Blue Rare
Item Description: The Holy Light represents absolute justice. If anyone doubts it, you can whip out this righteousness to gain their absolute trust.】
“Justice is coming!”
Yuliya gripped the hammer with both hands, turned around, and swung.
As No. 4 lunged at her, his face met the hammer in a lovely embrace, sending him flying back.
She then spun around for another swing, sending the already-rose No. 1 back to the dirt.
“And now for you.”
Number 2 was still a bit far, seeing the hammer grow larger and the handle stretch as it came crashing down above him.
“Big Hammer, 80!”
“Thud!”
Eighty!
“Thud!”
Eighty!
“Thud!”
Eighty!
After three solid whacks, Number 2 also found himself joining No. 1 in the dirt.
Only one left, Yuliya turned her gaze to Number 3.
Number 3 was still reeling, thinking about the fate of his buddies, hesitating on whether to retreat for better survival odds.
Then he heard a voice from Yuliya.
“Watch me perform a size-changing magic trick.”
She clasped her right hand around the handle.
The hammer, which was initially ten meters long and two or three meters wide, began to shrink until it became just the right size to grip comfortably in Yuliya’s hands.
Once transformed, she hurled the hammer at Number 3.
Bang!
Right on the head!
The hammer rebounded up, and Yuliya suddenly found herself airborne, catching the bouncing hammer.
“Little Hammer, 40!”
Clang, clang, clang, clang!
One inch at a time, she also hammered Number 3 into the ground.
After all that, Yuliya balanced the hammer on her fingertip, spinning it as she sauntered to a middle position.
After waiting a moment, she grasped the hammer firmly: “Alright, that should do.”
As soon as she finished speaking, two roars erupted, carrying an unpleasant wave of black energy.
The last two Chaotic Contaminators went berserk too.
The roars acted like some kind of signal, and all four berserk Contaminators lunged at the middle, where Yuliya stood.
Yuliya merely scoffed, offering a mocking smile.
She tossed the Righteousness of the Holy Light into the air, watching it rise to the highest point before coming crashing down.
The four Contaminators, like starving wolves zeroing in on a tasty lamb, ignored the sword of Damocles that was descending above them.
In the next moment, Yuliya vanished, and the massively enlarged Righteousness of the Holy Light slammed down, pinning all four Chaotic Contaminators beneath it.
Reappearing at the far end of the hammer’s handle, Yuliya declared, “Seriously, leave the chaotic powers alone—come embrace the Holy Light with me. But first, we need to cleanse your polluted souls.”
With that, she lifted the hammer high above her head.
“Ah, Holy Light!”
Boom!
“Praise the Holy Light!”
Boom!!
“Open your hearts to the Holy Light!”
Boom boom boom!!!
After three rounds of Holy Light’s baptism, Yuliya walked forward and looked into the deep pit she had created.
Inside, there were no more Chaotic Contaminators—only masses of black muck that were slowly dissipating.
Feeling quite pleased, she smiled. “Great! You’ve finally grasped the Holy Light.”
She wiped away nonexistent tears, stowed away the hammer, and pressed her palms together in front of her chest.
“Goodness, goodness, Amen.”
Then she took a look at her points.
Oh my goodness! This is too many points!
That big magic circle explosion had given her an easy two thousand points, and each of the four Contaminators added another thousand. Her total points had skyrocketed to over twelve thousand.
Checking on the second place, not bad, breaking three hundred points! They must have cooperated to clear a small exploration point.
Sofia had suddenly appeared again.
She first glanced at the bottom of the pit, then gave Yuliya a thumbs up.
“Wow, little beauty, you wiped out four at once!”
“Just average, really. Sofia, do you know where I can find more of these generous… enemies?”
She was enjoying raking in the points.
“Do you want to fight some more?”
“Uh-huh! I’m not done yet!”
“But there aren’t any left.”
Yuliya tilted her head, puzzled. “No other large magic circle points?”
“There are four in total, and then, hmm, these four.”
“…”
So blowing up one spot got them all to pop out…
Though these monsters were formidable, a whole team would certainly struggle if other players encountered them.
“Alright, let’s head to the church to regroup, then off to the next point.”
Upon hearing this, Sofia’s expression fell, her head drooping: “I wanted to go, but I probably won’t have the time.”
“Time? We should have plenty!”
Hadn’t she only been in this dungeon for a few hours? They still had at least forty hours left before the event ended.
Sofia looked up at the massive moon in the sky, her voice barely a whisper, “I mean, I don’t have time.”
